My god, I have been blessed. That part where you had one point and the slope. I didn't know what the hell to do with fractions.God bless you and thank you so much for this video. Will definitely be seeing more vids.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I have watched a ton of videos on this and none of them explained how you do it. They just done example but NO Explanations. Thank you from a struggling college student!!!!
You told me what I needed in the first 3 minutes... I have been struggling to understand how to take the slope intercept form to standard form. You are awesome for sharing. Really appreciate your time and the wonderful simple way of explaining.... Thank YOU!
This is amazing! I have a test tomorrow and I really needed help with standard form. You covered everything in the chapter. Thanks so much you're a lifesaver!
this honestly helped me so much.i didn't understand anything my teacher said in class,so when it came time to do homework i didn't understand anything.THANK YOU SO MUCH. I finally understand.
Thank you so much for this video! It really helped that you were humorous while teaching because it kept me interested and I wasn't bored. You're awesome man
OMG thank you so much for your videos! I haven't done math since hs and i'm in college now struggling with Finite Math. But your videos are helping me a lot!
Omg thank you very much may God bless your soul, and your very intelligent techno skills, may God grant you more wishes, and paryers, for you have served something great in my life,I was failing and then after hours of searching for videos to study on I sway yours thank you very much I really loved this video,I will show it to my class asap.
I like your videos. That are really clear! Although I don't have any problems with standard form, yet we have a quiz today. This is really good for reviewing.
As always, love your videos. Question--when/why is standard form of an equation used? When is it helpful to have it in standard form versus slope intercept form? Thanks for the feedback!
+Jeff Sellers Hello Jeff! Standard form is used often as a formal way to write an equation such as when it's used in Set-Builder notation. Also, it is used in systems of equations (especially the elimination and substitution methods). Slope-Intercept form is used in function notation, graphing and piecewise functions.
Hey fort bend tutoring, can you make a video on solving systems of linear equations by substitution and elimination method please. I seem to understand a lot better watching your videos
In 7:26 why did you use the equation y= mx + b isnt that the equation of the slope intercept form ? This video is about standard form right ? Why did you use the slope intercept equation ?
My daughter and I are having a disagreement about your name. Is it Mr. Whitwhit with Fort Bend Tutoring or Mr. Whit with Fort Bend Tutoring? Btw, we love your tutorials! Thanks
I struggle with math because my teacher doesn’t know math she just give us papers and this video is excellent because one of ur equations are exactly like my homework
Do you know what it means by parallel to X+2=0 with X intercept (-1,0).Do you have a video on this. Also a video on with m=3 and y intercept (0,-4). Do you have a video on these.
+Eric chhun If the first term (the term with the variable "x") has a negative coefficient. [If there is a negative sign in front of the 1st term, divide by negative one]
Okay, so my homework on standard form is giving me problems with fractions. If the equation of standard form CAN'T be written in fractions and MUST all be in integers, why is it asking for it? For instance: 3x + 2 = 1/3 (y - 1). See what I mean? Please get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you!
@@FortBendTutoring LOL if you find out it's your competence he likes best will you start squeaking when you talk, or if it's your voice will you start making errors in your calculations? Sorry; couldn't help myself.😊
Sorry I meant at the very start -x+3y=12 in the other ones when a question occurred like this you preferred to / by -1 how come you went through this all the stages you did and not just at the very start /by -1
I'm English if you know we have gcse we have two separate papers higher and foundation, foundation is g-c c being the best and higher is a star to a c what grade in my gcse grade would knowing this get me to thanks again fbt
The more math you know and understand, the better your grade will be. Can't be any clearer than that without knowing your specific curricula and/or what you're being tested on. Good luck 2 you!
Mr. Whitt explains math equations clearly and concisely. I would recommend this site to any student of math. Fantastic teaching!

You are AWESOME!!
You and your post is AWESOME!!
In 7:26 why did you use the equation y= mx + b isnt that the equation of the slope intercept form ? This video is about standard form right ? Why did you use the slope intercept equation ?
We may use the slope-intercept form or the point-slope form to create the equation which is then converted into standard form.
man great video. btw what app is this ur using

How do you know if you have to divide everything by -1.
+Eric chhun If the first term (the term with the variable "x") has a negative coefficient. [If there is a negative sign in front of the 1st term, divide by negative one]
+Fort Bend Tutoring ah, I understand now
And another question, how do u know if it's not perpendicular or parallel
+Eric chhun Check out number 6 and 7 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/ZV3SGp2SJuU/v-deo.html
omg thank you so much
That intro has me howling LOL

what if its like this: y=1/2 x
+Anivie Redillas Start by multiplying both sides of the equation by two.
oh.. thank you ..now i get it 😉😉😉

I love your accent, and thank youuuuuuu
Thanks !!
You're welcome Humberto!
What do if my y1 on the | y-y1=m(X-X1) |
I have a fraction on the y1??
+Humberto Zubia You can eliminate the fraction by multiplying the entire equation (each term) by the common denominator of the equation.
But what if both the slope and y-intercept are fractions
+Reiga Raizet Multiply each term by the least common denominator to eliminate all the fractions.
Fort Bend Tutoring why do you need to cancel the fractions
On question 7 why not divide everything by negative 1 like you did on the others
I did divide everything by -1 on question 7.
Sorry I meant at the very start -x+3y=12 in the other ones when a question occurred like this you preferred to / by -1 how come you went through this all the stages you did and not just at the very start /by -1
It's because that equation is not being written in standard form. We needed to get the slope from that equation.
Your Welcome
What if im givin is a -A?
I’ll respect your assessment and work to make the next tutorial better.
