I just bit the bullet and purchased Josephine Wall " Joie de Vivre" in round drills, 220 colors. I live in eastern Oregon, US. I received it within a week. I haven't started it yet, but I did kit it up. I used my 2 containers that have the small bottles (180 bottles) and the rest into bead tubes that I have from beads that I am recycling from my beads I use for bead looming. With it being round, the canvas is actually larger. I like to organize my drills by color (blues with blues). It makes I easier for me to focus on symbols in that color field.

I would love to see you do this canvas. From start to finish, please.
I have never done a double sided adhesive canvas yet.
I do love dragons. I have seen this unboxing before.
Not sure if this should be my first double sided adhesive project. But I love the dragon since I first saw it.
I am a new painter. Just this year as a matter of fact. Started in mid January.
I no longer buy cheaper projects. I have had too many issues, some minor and some major.
Being new, I didn't know about stolen artwork. So now I only purchase from companies I know have licensed artwork. Sometimes it is hard to know. If I can't figure it out, I don't buy.
Please keep us informed of how it is going. This also I'd my favourite JWall. I have not done one of hers yet.
Thanks for your time in making these videos for us. They are greatly appreciated.

I had wondered if you might ever pick up a painting from these guys, especially with them being on your side of the pond. I know poured glue canvases are more my thing but Diamond Painting Deutschland has been captivating me. They were one of the first diamond painting companies I knew who had legally licensed Josephine Wall paintings. They are not afraid to have sooo many different drill colors for any given kit, especially with the high detail designs they are trying.

I just finished a Josephine Wall from DPD with approximately 165 colors and absolutely LOVED it! It was my fifth diamond painting ever, and my first double sided adhesive. It was a fabulous experience! The drills were excellent quality, and I had no trouble with the canvas at all. I did only do small portions of the canvas at a time, and used a light pad (which I always do.) For me, kitting up in DMC number made the most sense, and putting a name to the symbols helped immensely with getting the correct one. I hope you enjoy your painting as much as I did, and I can’t wait to see your progress! Enjoy! 😀
P.S. I used the Elizabeth Ward containers, which worked great for me. I also used Paddywaxx Super Sticky wax, and LOVED it! I found that I could reposition the diamonds even though it was a double sided adhesive canvas. Have fun!❤️

I'm working on Libra now with 250 colors - and am using E Ward system (need mostly tiny, but some mid size containers) and 60 container bottles, size I'm doing each time is 3x3" section. I have mine sorted by type but your idea sounds good to sort by color and then sub sort by type. Mine has sections that are primarily one prominent color so that system would have worked better for me. I am two thirds done and have zero problems with the canvas and very little bad drills (some concave and some with little bits). Look forward to seeing your progress when you start it.

I’ve done max colors from DPD And Uniquely Yours Down Under. DPD has better quality diamonds and Canvas. I used 3 Elizabeth Ward trays and set up tray towesr for ease of switching colors. You will literally grab a tray for 1 or 2 diamonds at a time so getting a rhythm with reaching placing switching placing is the key to maximize speed. I grouped by symbol categories. Numbers, letters, vehicles/traffic,, arrows, boxes/squares, circles, Currency. Etc. By the end of a row you will be able to retrieve the trays quickly and easily with categories. I can’t tell you how much easier tray towers make it. Green boats and those classroom cellphone holders from amazon work fine. I would pour just about 20 diamonds in each Tray to get started. Keep the pets away. Good Luck! I love the challenge of a big max color. Your video has me itching to order another.

I did this painting in rounds last year and it took me 4 months to complete. I used those little suitcases with round containers and sorted them by colour. The symbols are easy to remember, only a few of them are a bit confusing (the corners with and without dots for blue colours). I didn't use many trays, mostly I worked out of the lids of the containers, as one needs only a few drills of each colour. Very, very confetti but the finished piece is stunning. No problems with the adhesive at all. And DAC canvases are not mu

I am working on a Josephine Wall canvas right now and I love it and all the colors. I ordered another one of hers fro DAC since they are not going to have her any more. I am looking at another one from “Down Under” but the one I wanted they no longer have but through an email they said it might be added back. I want to get one from them as it is poured glue which I prefer. It is funny cause I was on their site yesterday and saw this canvas you are showing here and thought that it is one you would love. Do have some videos when you start on it. One of these days I might try one of them but not quite really for one with these different symbols and so many. Keep your videos coming as I love them

I just finished my 1st JW DPD 'Bubble Flower' with 225 colours. It was my first one too with this massive amount of colours and i can say you will get used to it very fast. I used the small tic tac storage boxes (4 boxes) and sorted them by DMC numbers. I was surprised how fast i knew where i find the symbols.
And I worked on bigger sections, this made it easier for me to handle the Confetti 😅 It took me 7 months to finish my project, and i can say i really enjoyed working on it. The quality of the canvas and the drills is perfect.

Glad you checked your inventory, I had ordered 2, and 1 came with the wrong drills and they replaced them ... in fact they DHLed them to me in Canada which is amazing!! I do love the kit I am working on, it's Flight of the Lynx. I have 3 boxes of Ward containers grouped by colour family. Hi Rachel. I have done Joie de Vivre from this company. I loved working on it so much. I love confetti. It took me 8 hours to kit up into the little containers that are joined 4 in a row and I sorted them into like symbols eg. all arrows together, all circles together, all diamonds together etc. It worked really well for me. I worked on sections about 5cm x 10cm because of the confetti. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. Cheers from Australia.

So cool! I have seen Katie from Diamonds and Washi do one of these. I would very much love to do one of those! In fact, if many people would like to embrace such a big project, it could be kind of fun to do some kind of a DP along with WIP and chat or live dedicated to the project. Doing just a little bit at a time, to make sure not burning out, even if it takes a loooong time to finish it. Just saying! I’d gladly be part of it. By the way, nice choice of DP, it will be beautiful!

  • @DianesDiamondPaintingJourney

WOW! And that is going to be so beautiful when you get it done. I also have 2 huge J Walls from them. One has 240 drills and the other 250!!! Tarsus and Pisces. When I got them, I didn't even take the canvas out of the tube lol. I actually bought 3 storage units from Bella Art De Nicole for when I kit up. I think I will work out of the baggies (which I hate) because it will just be easier to kit up and I will probably try to put them in order of DMC. I think I will do bigger sections than what you plan to do just because I won't have to change colors so often. Good luck. ❤️

I would think the artdot container storage would be best, that way you can sort the colors into the drawers. Then you can labels the drawers with what color family is in them. That diamond painting is a beast! I feel like getting a blank canvas and using pattern keeper would almost be easier but either way I hope you enjoy!!!

I have one. I have kitted it up, took several hours. Kitting up is not my favorite part, so that was frustrating for me. After doing that, I wish I had just used the baggies, or maybe leave the colors with a small amount of drills in bags and large quantity in containers. I had to use multiple storage containers in various sizes. Drills were staticky, so I put dryer sheets in most containers. I haven’t started placing drills yet. And I’m not sure how easy it’s going to be to find colors with that many in multiple storage cases. Hopefully I’ll start to associate my organizing and get into a rhythm. But the symbols were so random, it was harD to categorize them. I wish they had used more letters and numbers. Lower and upper case, would have made sorting symbols easier. I am very excited to work on the large project with so many colors! Definitely a challenge! It’s a beautiful image by J Wall. I look forward to seeing your progress. Thank you for sharing 👋🏼😊

I have this same painting!! I got mine from Uniquely Yours Down Under tho and its poured glue...it only has like 60 colors which is manageable for me. I just can't deal with double sided tape anymore

I am working on Diana by J. Wall from the same company. The canvas has 250 colors. I ended up sorting my drills by symbol. I am over half-way done and have purchased another one! The confetti is brutal! I used Harbor Freight as well as Elizabeth Ward containers. I initially had larger sections but quickly changed to 2 x 2 inches. Sometimes a section took as long as 4 hours! I am working on other canvases and taking breaks from Diana. After a while, I become extremely overwhelmed if I don't take breaks.
