Dr. Sam Bailey can you discuss long term use of antidepressants. Also, is it recommended to change antidepressants after years. I think your videos are great, condensing large topics making them understandable! BTW: I am a fan of Gin Wigmore, do up like her?
Wow, Dr. Sam! Terrific energy and enthusiasm! You are an exceptional educator! You make complicated medical info easy to grasp! And such a pleasant smile too!
After I had my gal bladder removed, I was having some minor issues with digestion. I stared having a Greek yogurt each day with live cultures and this seemed to help me feel better. Not sure if I would have felt better with time anyway, but the extra protein doesn't hurt and I enjoy them. With all the crazing stuff going on right now, you positive attitude and pretty smile are most welcome.
You remind me of my most absolute favorite sunday school teacher. She was one of the best people that I ever knew. I really enjoy listening to you explain, and I really needed to hear this about probiotics. Thank you very much Dr.
If you are going to take probiotic supplements here are some things you should look for. Contain Soil-Based Probiotics and Be Shelf-Stable: Make sure your probiotic supplement has soil-based probiotics and is shelf-stable, meaning it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. Ideally you want your probiotic to have a shelf-life of 2 years. Also, High CFU Strain Diversity, Survivability, also remember look for a stable probiotic that you do not need to refrigerate. The ones we used to buy. that always need to be refrigerated are very weak and die very easy. Just to add to what precious Dr. Sam Said.
I have encountered some of the information you presented in various videos around UA-cam. However, your style of presentation and LOGICAL progression definitely helped me tie together some loose informational ends as well as some new information. Thank you.
Someone I know was on an extended length of time on antibiotics (treating Lyme disease). For this person it led to acid reflux. This person took probiotics and it seemed to help.
Gut health analysis is going to be huge in the next few years. Where do I begin ? I understand that the science/industry is in early stages . This is such an important subject.
You forgot to mention kefir. Kefir has really taken off in a big way in the UK having been introduced by many in the Polish community. Kefir is a drink of fermented grains, tastes like a very mild natural yogurt. You can also get this fermented with cows milk and flavoured like a yogurt. The real reason why you should include it as part of your diet is it has lots of good gut bacteria which is necessary for your gut to function properly. It's also recommended to patients under going strong treatments that interfere with the gut, in order to maintain a healthy system. If you get the plain kefir you can flavour it with honey, jam and / or fruit to taste. I certainly use it regularly on my porridge
More about this subject please Doctor - I am fit and well, in my fifties but have stomach issues. I am convinced that gut health is central to wellbeing.
Thank you Dr. Sam for this information. I just discovered your channelby accident yesterday and glad I did. What I really like about this video is the information regarding probiotics to help me understand the pros and cons. VERY helpful and the way you explain it is very easy to understand. At age 71 living in the North East US I live a healthy active life style and I want to know and do all I can to keep it this way as long as possible. I have struggled with weight gain all my life so anything other than simple diet and exercise you can offer will be welcome. Thanks much fo all you are doing.
I have started having probiotics since 1 month, my gut health is improving. Acid reflux problem is resolved. I can feel better bowel movement. Oral candida (Trush) is also getting better.
Great video! I question the entire notion of "good" and "bad" microbes. While there are bacteria that can produce toxins, those bacteria are often found everywhere so it seems it is only under certain conditions they appear.
Thanks Dr, good post. You can't beat having culture filled probiotic yogurt in the fridge I always think. Incidentally, off this topic, but regarding your recent more topical posts, how is NZ coping coming out of your (what seemed) better orchestrated lockdown? Is business as usual resuming? All the best to you from up North (a not so successful England).
