Usually when I get pizza, I'm so excited to eat it and I can't wait. I bite into it and can't even taste it because I'm trying to inhale a bunch of air to cool it down.
Yes this is the correct way, for years I have been trying to emulate this action and I believe that I have now mastered it and can fully enjoy the scrumptious pizza while feeling as though I’m an Italian chef.

I'm Italian, i live in Naples and i eat pizza with knife and fork, specially at restaurant. Why? It's more practical, simple. You can eat pizza how you want. Doesn't exist right or wrong way, just how you prefer at moment.

I love this!, dined in an Italian restaurant the other day, they served on the wooden tray just like this, I sat like an idiot not knowing what to do, so grabbed the tray put it right in front of me and ate it straight away, yes I burned the roof of my mouth lol.

You fold it to keep the skinny end from drooping... and being smaller its cooler so doesnt burn your mouth roof...also keeps the toppings from falling off. Nothing wrong with a knife and fork, but this is a hand food. If it has a lot of sauce and toppings you may need a knife and fork. I have had so many roof of the mouth burns ..lol

As an Italian, I would say it depends of the pizza..

He's right about letting the pizza settle, at least IMO he's right about that, if I cook a pizza at home I HAVE to let it sit for 15-20min or else when I cut it the cheese and toppings go sliding off. But as far as eating a pizza the right way LOLOL of course a newyorker/newjersey guy is going to say you have to fold it, those people are CRAZY about their pizza, but c-mon, as long as it's going into your tummy, theres no wrong/right way. Sometimes I don't even cut my pizza sometimes when I take it out of oven, I just eat it whole.

I am not a folder of pizza. I'll admit that any day.
Even people in different regions of Italy eat pizza differently. Who cares how you eat it, as long as you enjoy it, use a knife and fork, use your hands, there is no right way or wrong way.
The right way to pizza is to look at it, pick it up, open your mouth, say “Aaahh”, drive the pizza into your socket, when inside, close your mouth as if someone used your credit card, put the pizza back on the plate (or where ever you last had it), move your jaw up and down, then absorb the pizza into your fat belly, the last step, do it all again until there no spec to with any one.

When I traveled to Germany every one used the knife and fork while eating pizza I have always eaten the pizza folded by hand and I felt really weird being the only one folding it but still it felt the right way

This is not how you eat a pizza btw, the way you eat a pizza is by folding the pizza a quarterway down and eating it from the crust towards the innerside, which also allows you to flip the pizza so the toppins doesn't come out, which allows the side with toppings to be turned down towards your tongue for the extra flavor explosion.

I've never herd of of letting your pizza "settle". I understand not eating it while it's too hot, but how can you really tell the temp by simply looking at it? Isn't it smarter to just touch it? And what exactly is that gives him the green light when staring at it?
+Mdriver1981 "Settling" is just another way of saying wait for it to cool. You can get a serious burn from bubbling hot sauce, it's happened to me and it's no fun.
You also don't enjoy the great taste of the pizza when you're struggling with the burning top of your mouth.

there's no difference... Most of them have a native Italian family member or members that live with, or close by to them.

And it wasn't generally the upper/middle class Italians who emigrated to the US, so their table manners may have been dfferent as well. Anyway, in Italy, people do eat with knife and fork.
