I remember Tim once joking that he considered sending retailers explosion stickers to apply to the Psychonauts box art to boost sales.

I know a lot of people think this is just cashing on o nostalgia, but honestly I love being able to play some of my favorite games with better graphics on my console. day of the tentacle was beautifully done. I loved the polished graphics. I loved the commentary and that you could switch to the retro graphics. I loved being able to play it on my HD tv instead of via scumm. and I'm excited for revisiting full throttle.

I don't mind at all either. It's not like there's no new content like with a lot of other old games reappearing on steam (or console, I guess), and the remakes look both good and faithful to the original (which is also included). And they run properly, which is not always the case with other oldies. That's all the fans want.

Not necessary on console, iPad is enough)

These remasters are particularly great because before this, Full Throttle was in a bit of legal doubt. I'd play it regardless, if I could only buy it, but DF's efforts have gotten Grim Fandango and other atypical Disney-owned IPs out into digital stores again.

I first played full Throttle when I was a kid, and I got my first motorbike a couple of years ago, now planning a month long motorbike tour around Europe next summer. True story :-)

At Volition in Illinois, there is a boxed copy of Full Throttle, signed by Tim Schafer, with the note "Late, due to Descent!" written on it in Sharpie.

Can't get enough of this game... I would watch a 1 hour long documentary of the making-of from this game and would still be left wanting for more... I have a sealed boxed copy as one of my most treasured possessions. The art of this game is amazing and has aged really well, the atmosphere is amazing, the music instantly sends me back to my childhood. I wish they would come out with a boxed version of the remaster. One thing that bothers me a bit is that the art looks too clean now... I feel like the pixelation helped a lot with the atmosphere and made it look a little bit more gritty, though I will have to play the final version to judge it. I'm super glad a new generation will be able to enjoy it and that these masterpieces are getting the treatment they deserve for preservation purposes. Thanks to Tim and DoubleFine for this. Now if I could only get Tim to sign my original full throttle box hehe.

I've never heard of Full Throttle but seen videos of it on UA-cam around 2009. Then I tried out the game through Game Pass on PC. It's like Mad Max with Bikes, I love it.

I remember working at a computer chip place and I lent my copy of Dark Forces to my workmate (he spoke little english only Cantonese) anyways after two days his wife (who also happened to work there) handed it back to me complaining he was playing it so much that he wasn't getting any sleep . Undaunted, I gave them Full Throttle next, and they both enjoyed it. The game truly was universal in its appeal. Fond memories.

To Tim: I don't know if you'll ever read this. But you mentioned wondering what happened to those gamers that played Full Throttle? You're one of the influential reasons that I ended up becoming a game dev. Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, The Dig, these games helped to define my childhood. Psychonauts and Full Throttle still remain in my top 5 games. I'm thankful to you, and the rest of the creative teams on these projects for showing me what games could do. I now work over at Telltale, I help raise funds for our nearby Children's Hospital here in SF through video games...you and other devs helped shape all of this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all those crazy nights you and your team put in. I now know what you guys can go through. I respect you guys so much for all the work you've done and continue to do. Thank you. ~Ryann

I took contact with this game in 1996, when my father worked for the editing house of the university I work in as a Professor. My English was very poor then, and there were no Spanish subtitles, so I didn't understand anything except for the part of kicking Rotten Wheelers' a**es and breaking into a house to steal some wielding torch. Some years after, my father bought the game and gave it to me as a Christmas' present, this time with Spanish subtitles (the English voices were fortunately unchanged).
Full Throttle makes me remember of my father, who passed away two years ago, and I'm still crying his death. Among many things, Full Throttle strenghtened the link between me and my father. So if I were in front of Tim Schafer, I would probably give him a big hug while crying. Thank you Tim and all the team of Full Throttle, for giving me memories that will be forever in my heart. Thank you, from Argentina.

I definitely can't wait for this one. It's on PS4 first, but I assume we'll eventually see it on Steam. Double Fine absolutely know how to do a remaster properly: update the graphics, keep the game the same, but also give the option to see the game with its original graphics.
By the way, if anyone's interested in the music, it was all done by a band called Gone Jackals. Some of the music on their albums will sound really familiar. Let it Rip was the song that played at the end of this video, for example. Seriously great stuff that I recommend.

Love this behind the scenes look at a classic game that helped define my childhood and who I am today. One hell of a role model, I just never liked that Luke Skywalker was the bad guy ;)

This is one of my favorite games of all time and this looks very promising. I like how the old 3D models are getting replaced with art that actually matches the art the style. I also hope this comes with an option to view the concept art for the cut content, the original voice acting recordings intact, and the original soundtrack in it's uncompressed form as heard in this video.
