I’ve been 😆
I just bought a motorcycle this is quite the coincidence..
Man i miss the 90s things were so much better then.
When we were growing up in the 90s, it was normal to trust your neighbours and to not assume every male over the age of 10 is a rapist/molester.
Yeah. Just weird to think that was the case back then lol
@@TKsMantis rather, weird that's its the case now.
@@ligninman Big true
Bro was probably cool with his parents a good also so fuck it send the kid to the neighbors
yup our neighbor was old war veteran who gave us cookies and soda to come over. he just wanted company to share his stories. now it'd sound creepy
13:38 Todd’s Junkyard? Damn seems like he finally stopped telling lies and was honest with us about the state of BGS.
Thought the same thing lol
It's a cliche I know, but "the past was a different time." I know plenty of older people like my Dad and some of his friends who would share games and their rigs, even with relative strangers, sometimes with younger people. It was just normal, like sharing a hobby hoping to get others interested and growing a community.
We probably don't see it as much anymore because of several things: stranger danger has probably made people scared to do this, and the internet has moved the communities online. A lot of hobby groups hace gone the way of the dodo since the 90s, and frankly it's sad.
Good point.
Stranger danger is a good idea but overblown because the reality is more unsettling. You're far more likely to be sexually or physically assaulted by people within the family or known to the family.
@@killaken2000 Yes but there are also a few somewhat rarer cases of this which has occurred outside of known family. Hence that is why it has been enforced in the first place despite many humans being generally considered as good people.
Tim Shafer games are so fucking awesome. Grim Fandango is probably my favorite adventure game of all time tbh
You’re god Tier Mantis
Mark Hammels voice is iconic. He’s just an iconic man. First I saw him in Star Wars as a kid, then listened to him as the Joker with my dad in the batman series
Sounds like your neighbour was just babysitting, maybe an informal arrangement with your folks to give them some alone time lol
Could be LOL
HOLY SHIT. I didn't think ANYONE was going to cover this old gem. Hats off to you Mantis! Thank you for making an old geek smile.
Blast from the past!
Im not putting my lips on that.

Kinky. Send pics pls.
Fun fact: Ben is the brother of Hoagie from LucasArt's "Day of the Tentacle"
His full name is Rueben, so their mother named them both after sandwiches.
Being 20 years old, if a kid from my neighborhood I knew fairly well wanted to play games at my house and his mom didnt mind I wouldnt mind. Shit I might even charge her for sitting the kid. But yeah basically I would totally let little mantis play Full Throttle on my computer, have fun lil dude.
I feel the same, but also I don't like people IRL anymore, so I keep to myself hahaha
@@TKsMantis Same though.
the Greatest Of All Time.
One of the first games I've ever played, it's such a classic.
Damn. Made me remember a forgotten piece of my childhood. Full throttle and Duke nukem 3d give me the craziest nastolgia.
This and Sam & Max Hit Road were my favourite LucasArts games as a kid. I was too dumb to figure out how to beat Day Of The Tentacle back then, but came back years later and had a blast with it as an adult :)
I loved Day of the Tentacle. Loved the humour.
WHAT, THIS VIDEO CAME OUT AND I DIDN'T KNOW?
I'm so glad you brought this back up, my whole childhood.
Glad I am not the only one.
YESSSSS ! Finally a man of true taste! Played the original as a kid and the HD version recently as a grown man and it's still fantastic!
hell yeah. I remember this old game from ages ago. The trouble it took just to get the original game just to RUN. If you were lucky, WITH SOUND.
@@BlueBoxRevan The trouble was getting the space bike guys to fall off the motorcycle!
@@b3n4ik89 omg I remember that!! You mean the rot wheeler right
@@BlueBoxRevan The cavefish! The blind ones. The Rottwheelers are just the opposing gang. And then there were the f$$$ing bunnies that you had to release in the minefield! Ugh!
Nice vid like always
My cousin got me into Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle. He was in the army and would come visit on his off period at my grandparents and set up his computer. It was the only time i got to play it and I got stuck on the part where you had to get a cat to look like a skunk. I was stuck and had the materials and could never figure out how to get past this part. My cousin was deployed for 4 years and i didn't get to see him this entire time, but i would constantly think about this puzzle. I was sitting in the bath tub 5 or 6 years later and all of a sudden the idea to use the white out on the black cat popped in my mind to make it a skunk and i had to wait till the remaster came out to try it. Still a warm fuzzy feeling about this game and the time i had to wait to beat the game lol.
That was a hell of a ride, Mantis. Amazing video!
Thanks for watching!
This game brings back so many memories. Back in the 90s where I lived owning a PC was a luxury, so I only knew a few people who had one, and they were usually from well off families. So I used to go to my friend/neighbour to play games just like you (although she was my age lol). Full Throttle and GTA 1 were the first 2 games I ever played on her PC. GTA was fun and all, but Full Throttle really stayed with me for the rest of my life. The incredibly cinematic story, the voice acting was god tier, the animation was so unique but absolutely amazing, and the music was SOOOO unbelievably good and was part of the reason I got into playing guitar as a kid (I still play 25+ years later). I would happily watch a Full Throttle animated series if somebody actually made it with the same animation, same quality acting and music.
This was the first point and click I played, was on a floppy disc on an old mac, some of the puzzles took me ages as a kid. Really enjoyed playing the remaster recently, soundtrack is amazing too
This game looks so amazing seeing it in HD in this video. I remember playing as a kid I had a shitty ass graphics card and everything was pixelated and blurry haha. Had no idea it was THIS clean.
Best thing about this game? - Mark Hamill as Adrian Ripburger!
Second best thing about this game? What happens when you set the bunnies loose. 🤣
Whoa, I’m so glad I saw this video. I absolutely love seeing videos about games like these because they remind me of hidden somewhat hidden gems that aren’t mainstream that are just so good.
Good video. I'm not normally keen on story recaps but you left enough out for people to discover on their own, hope this helps it get discovered by more people.
Glad you noticed. I left some KEY things out so this video couldn't be used as a straight walkthrough and so there would be some surprises for people who DID go back and play it.
What's hilarious is Ben is Tim Schafers self insert.
wow, less than 200 views in the last 7 minutes? That's pretty harsh.
man i loved this game back in the day, cant wait to play it again
This game looks amazing, a really awesome story and great graphics for its time. Also great video as always Mantis!
Check it out if you like TellTale style stuff.
@@TKsMantis hey Mantis I think you would really like the sam and Max series. They were also made by LucasArts and telltale games later on. They have a similar point and click adventure design and are insanely funny.
LucasArts should seriously consider making a live-action movie based on this video game! 🎥🎮
The story is 🔥🔥🔥
and Ben is basically god-tier 💯
You can tell it was made in the 90s... Ripburger wants to have Corley Motors make Minivans... if it were made today, Ripburger would want Corley Motors to make SUVs.
I was always picky about point and clicks but this game really butters my balls. Definitely deserves more recognition
It is a classic hands down.
A beautiful classic. 🤘
"Full Throttle" is one of my absolute favvos of all time. Gos, havent played it for ages but I might as well dust it off now. What a classic it is/was!
Never heard of this until now. Thank you for adding another game to the list!
Did you end up playing it?
Yes, day of the tentacle absolutely does deserve it’s own video!
One of the best adventure games ever made. Still hold the test of time. I played it at 15 when it released. I still have the copy witch came as a full game with a copy of dark forces.
The voice acting and the animation the game play and the commentary on corprate life vrs biker life styling.
Thank you Mantis for taking me back in a time machine.
When I was 11 I saw that opening it was the first time I remember getting “chills” from a piece of media. That opening was just amazing.
I live at 19:44 the truck driver has a star wars tatt
I wasn't expecting to like this video as much as I did
Thanks a lot. That means quite a bit. Though it seems simple, this video took WAY longer to make than I expected.
Holy crap! Someone else who remembers this game!!! This is mind blowing 🤯
It is a legendary game and storyline.
Hell yeah bro I was 4 when i played Mario on nes. I don't remember a lot from being that young, but I remember my sister handing me the controller and creating the gamer addict that I am today lol
Having just last night prior to writing this comment making Full Throttle Remastered my second game to achievement wise 1000 out of 1000 Gamerscore on with the very first being fellow Double Fine game Psychonauts 2 having be joining Game Pass for not even a full year until this coming fall! I remembered when I was about five or six years old and my dad had the Lucas Arts CD-ROM with the three point and click and action hybrid game demos in Star Wars Rebel Assault, The Dig, and this and I'd watch him play this and we liked it. I had my first full experience with Full Throttle on the remastered version as my current from thirty-one and a half year-old self appreciating the short game with still a great story like this. Nice video btw!
For a split second I thought you did a god tier on an energy drink haha
LOL
nice video
I honestly have never heard of this game until now, seems really cool! Great vid
Seems a lot of people outside the US have never even heard of it. Its niche for sure.
@@TKsMantis You are right, I am from Brazil and to this day, I have never found anyone outside my family who knew or played this game.
Oh, man! Great memories... I played the shit out of it when I was a kid even if I didn't understand shit because of the language barrier.
I have spent countless hours trying to figure what to do everywhere in the game because of it, I asked for help from my mom, dad, uncle, no one understood shit either, so we had to go by trial and error and trying to figure what was happenning in the story just by what was happening visually.
I only really understood the plot few years ago when playing the remake as an adult, which by the way, as you already know, is fucking great.
Thanks for making justice with this amazing video about this GOD TIER game!
my older cousin showed me leisure suit Larry
YIKES lol
2:42 Had an acquaintance like that, too. No molestation nor weirdness.. apparently just a dude that let kids use his computer for games when he wasn't using it.
Point and click adventure games were really a product of their time, not saying their bad or anything, just that you don’t see many anymore.
Love what TellTale did with the formula.
have you herd of "the dig" same kind of game but just as good
WTB Corley Motors Minivan, PST!
M I N I V A N
Never heard of this game before. Looks really cool imma have to check it out. Good vid brah
I'm too young to play it when it first came out, but it does seem to have held up really well
I still have the original PC disc version and it runs smoothly with some mildly annoying setting up and all the cover art is still in one piece.
I want this to be a movie now. Imagine mark hammill being a villain
Damn, what a hidden gem.
Underrated.
Played through this countless times as a teen
Time NOT wasted.
I am old enough playing this game. It was awesome.
Agreed.
Yes, yes it is. I played both full throtle games before and they are my favorite P&C games of all times.
Both Full Throttle games?
@@TKsMantis both the 1995 and 2017 version.
@@ligninman Ah! I was like... I couldn't find a sequel. I hear you lol
You can throw those toy rabbits into the fan on the truck at the end too. Its fun
Mark hamill (ripburger) is a God tier voice actor
"was criticized for being short" LOL it took me YEARS to finish, before the internet and with my lacking english skills back then hahaha
Fuck yes
One of my favorite games also if you have dark forces 2 on cd it came as a whole game marked demo.
Hah start liking gaming at young age. My family got me the old DS when I was 10. I had to pay for it too and the games. Eventually saved up for an Xbox and now saving up for a PC.
This was really a great game at the time....curious if it holds up still after 20 years +
Chainsaw was an auto win weapon 😁🤣
EZPZ
Huh where do I get this game? I wanna play it now
Man, UA-cam ads have really gotten out of hand. Earlier I saw an ad about canned water and they were waterboarding a dude and now I just saw one about some weirdo Gobbles-esk scientist advertising a CBD bracelet.
Yikes.
have you played Silverload on the PS1? fun horror game that was a great change of pace from the resident evils/silent hills
I have not.
Uh yeah. Along with Ultima one of my favorite games ever
Good choice.
Well looks like I got ANOTHER big box to waste money on... sigh lol.
I had a friend who had this when we were in high school. Good times. Good game also.
Yup got the special edition on Vita.
I do not think it's weird that you played video games in a older guys' apartment. When I lived in Everett I had the same thing a neighbor. He bought a Nintendo 64 and a bunch of games there are plenty of times where I went over there and just played it when he even wasn't home.
I FUCKING LOVE FULL THROTTLE ODOVJROWMXJFODOMXJCUFIDIE.D IT IS WHAT SUSTAINES ME. junk yard dog tho, , , , my mortal enemy not even that living blob of a business man. nah i got real beef with that dog
Can you do a vid about Grim Fandango??
I appreciate your appreciation of this amazing game. Does anyone have any recommendations for other adventure games? I tried the other lucasarts games but didn't like them (Sam max, day of the tentacle) but I really loved full throttle.
Try the Indiana Jones ones. Last Crusade ans Fate of Atlantis. Especially if using SCUMMVM.
Also Gabriel Knight 1, Beneath a Steel Sky, The Dig... things like that.
And Full Throttle is one of the weaker LucasArts adventures. This shows just how good they were
Did you watch the new sim settlement 2 trailer yet?
No.
YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOD TIER? YOUR FUCKING CONTENT! 😤
Whoever reads this I hope your day is GREAT!
Thanks brother!
Have any other games like this one?
Day of the Tentacle comes to my mind the most. Same as Monkey Island. These days it is more the TellTale approach.
@@TKsMantis yeah but TellTale can't make a good or intreating point and click game, well no as good when they started.
@@skywarp0564 Yeah because they are shut down lol
If you are trying to say TellTale = bad
I am gonna have to hard disagree my dude.
@@TKsMantis I'm just saying their games now are nothing now compare to their early work, but it's the only company that made point and click games of recent years.
Finally so tired of people saying game bad me play badass but no kill wahwah
Sure
the games not get more in depth most games jsut get shittier and shittier just get pretty but not better
First
please make a the last of us opinion
The game's ass tier. The puzzles make no sense and fighting is shit
