I think my favorite version of this is from The Undertaker short film. It was basically a home video that Prince wanted to release as a cover mount for Guitar World, but his record company found out about it and stopped the release at the last minute. But all of the songs in there are freaking phenomenal and super rock heavy. And really stripped back - just a trio with P on guitar, Sonny T on bass, and Michael Bland on drums. I highly recommend checking that out. 💜
I’m Yours is a very rock oriented song off Prince’s first album in 1978. He was 19 when it was recorded. It’s audio only since I’ve never found a live version and there was no music video either. He played ALL the instruments on his first several albums.
People should love and appreciate Purple Rain for sure , it was epic, but you owe it to yourself to dive into every thing Prince created long before Purple Rain and long after.
Thanks for the Prince reactions 💜 my favourite artist of all time! I have all his albums, yes ALL of them from 1978 to 2016 and the posthumous ones. And tonnes of DVD’s and Blurays of live stuff. You should be ok reacting to live stuff, UA-cam is brutal with music videos! But his live stuff is even better than the recorded tracks anyway. More Prince please 💜
@@ExploringTheSmoke please react to this one, you’ll love it! ua-cam.com/video/mv_C2RnnjRg/v-deo.htmlsi=LhNxFBhiSA2Of8sD Montreux Jazz festival 2009, ‘Empty room’. Totally awesome..this is literally a piece of art. Truly phenomenal guitar playing, singing and stagecraft. Every time I’ve watched this, I’ve got goosebumps. My goodness, I wish I’d been there. Really miss this amazing man :-( Epic guitar solos, touching you deep inside your very soul and heart! A performance conveying utter despair, leading into frustration and anger. He’s almost on another planet, he is so much in “The Zone” playing ‘Empty Room’. He was like No other, people nowadays don’t even understand. Prince was the Greatest Of All Time.

How did I miss this??? I love your Prince reactions and am so happy you are continuing on with his music. Since you mentioned his beautiful guitars, I’m recommending that you check out Motherless Child. It’s a cover of an old spiritual. You may be familiar with Richie Haven’s version from Woodstock.
