Each and every experience you are talking about with regards to being incapable to do something you don't like, but still being a complete learning junkie hits so close to home. Hope that I can look back at this comment in 10 years and be at your level! See you in 10 years!
Hi Steven, Not sure if you will read this, and I mean well, I just want to make a comment on specifically your comments of insecurities around 00:29:50 You mention earlier in the talk regarding having no time for meditating, despite you knowing it's important. I've taken a lot from your comments on so many hours in the day which I will implement in my life, however, from an outsider who follows your channel, I'm wandering if your using your own application to success, as away to avoid meditating, and dealing with some of the insecurities you mention at the timestamp above. I've seen in other podcasts you talk about staying up late, and eating which follows with shame / guilt. I'm also guilty of this, and from past experience, I know when I meditate this habit and feelings of security subside. So really I'm being a hypocrite, as I'm suggesting you spend that time late in the evening meditating, as clearly this is an activity that could be replaced with meditating, which would also put you in a better mindset for bed too. Anyhow, thanks for all the content from you both, it's helped me a lot this year, and really my comments above are a reflection of what I'm also failing to do. I will make the effort tonight to follow my own advise.
Love this. You're right, there are so many amazing, fair, clear thinking people to influence young people out there aren't there. Steven brings many of them to our screens! My aunt who died about 10 years ago once said how lucky I was to have the Internet Inc web and social to display my creative endeavours. She was an artist and said she would have LOVED to have that when she was younger. We take what we have now for granted often, but when you look back, you can see how much we have. Negative sides too of course, but huge opportunity and support
You sound like the game is up for you. You're only 64 - you could easily have another 30 + years to live. It's endless the things you could achieve in that time. Wishing you an amazing time ahead 😀🚀
I just love how Steven Bartlett speaks with others. The EQ of this man is sky high! He never interrupts and yet, he's still able to gently steer the conversation without pressure. He's a true master of interpersonal communications.

OMG. You just described my 8 year old boy when you said "obssesd with the things he likes and incapable of doing the things he doesn't like" I am 100% sure he will be joining the school of life soon. Listening to Steven gives me so much hope for my son.
I agree that you son is lucky to have a dad who appreciates his individuality. Not that my parents didn’t, but I thought something was wrong with me that I lost my love for the structure of school. I “survived” high and four years of college but couldn’t take any more formal education after I graduated.
My son is like that, he always has known what he wants and what he doesn’t want. As a parent you don’t have any say in it. Just go with it and trust him. My son is 22 now and it’s so much fun to see what he is making of his life. Your son will thrive!
Stephen is a Genuis! I'm incapable of articulating how much of a blessing it's been stumbling into his podcast diary of a CEO in 2022. It can be very lonely when you're still sort of in the trenches in midlife with a hunger that seems very different from everyone around you. Listening to these kind of conversations has inspired me to become really incredibly audacious with my weird personality and dreams!
The intelligence and wisdom Steven possess is inspiring and grounding. Huge fans of you both, thank you for creating this conversation and putting it into the world 🙏🏽
Both are brilliantly succinct at conveying their insights, so always feels like time well spent listening to what the have to say! Steven and Ali, huge appreciation for you both 🙌👏
Are you sure? try endlessly quitting when the rent is due and you're too old to find another because migrants have flooded the city and taken all accommodation. I can't wait when you are over 50 and completely ignore by men and employers. Gee, reality hurts doesn't it.
I love Steve’s protocol of when and how to “quit.” This is very valuable information; stuff they don’t teach us in school. Like he said, society glorifies “starting” but gives us no information on the converse.
I feel a bromance developing between Ali & Steven. My favourite part of this episode was where Ali explained how Steven interacted with Gordan at breakfast. It was so heartfelt Ali, you’re a great guy ❤️🙏🏾
I’m 68, a female without college. If I could change one thing- there would have been podcasts in my early days. I loved to read back then, but being able to hear the pauses and inflections in your conversation makes your takeaway so much better and true to what you are thinking. Loved this so much. Thank you for being fearless in sharing thoughts and feelings that have helped and ones that challenged you.
Love watching you both together. It's like watching equals where neither is trying to over promote themselves. Just like a couple of old friends having a meaningful chat.
Why do I relate to Steven about the home mess thing so much? I’m still dealing with it. It’s that thing you can’t shake off even though you’ve evolved so much as an individual. It’s like somehow, his talking about his mess gave me permission to be okay with mine. Thanks, Steven. Also, thank you, Ali, for the great question. I’m binge watching this at least 3 times today . Sometimes all you need is that reminder again . Life is full of surprises and beauty. It’s so interesting to me how the smallest experiences can make the most difference.
I absolutely love how Ali shared the Relationship review notion idea. It’s a brilliant idea and it allows for partners to do check ins and be more in sync
This has been my best episode. I may have had tears in my eyes after watching it. I'm so grateful your emotional intelligence and wisdom Steven and I appreciate your line of questioning Ali. Thank youuuuu for this beautiful conversation.
5:58 this is so refreshing to hear. Obsessed with the things he likes and unable to do what he doesn't like. For many many years I thought something was wrong with me, since I absolutely hated school when I was a child and didn't seem to get any better at studying despite trying, while I could go hours and hours at a time doing something I liked. Knowing that there's someone like me who was able to get successful is nice to know
I think having regrets is a good thing. It is normal and very therapeutical to have them. Sometimes ppl mistaken regret with a guilt. Regrets gives us a mechanism to explore the life. To figure out what we have control over and what we do not have. Great episode, ❤
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.
Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up 750k within 2 years.
Having a counsellor is essential for portfolio diversification. My advisor ASHLEY AIRAGAHI who is easily searchable and has extensive knowledge of the financial markets.
this is one of my favourite podcast episodes recently! the vibe you and Steven have is brilliant, it was like two good friends having a deep conversation. hope you guys meet more often. i learned valuable lessons in this one
It's nice to see Ali open up about his struggles with comparison 50:08 sometimes I forget how we can all experience such similar things as humans. Just because you've reached what looks like 'success', doesn't mean the inner comparison will stop 💭
Steven was completely right about how happiness is a function of expectations. I'm such a planner that I struggle with it. When you optimize for the best outcome, expectations then naturally increase too.
Whichever seat you sit, Steve, you ask questions from your host or your guests. That's an inquisitive mind and lesson for me on the willingness to learn no matter how much we know. I usually don't comment on videos, I may type and never post, but I changed that! I stepped out of that habit inspired by your book, The Diary of a CEO I just got. I started reading, sometimes tear in my eyes, excited, challenged, and encouraged. Sometimes, I read again the law and concept you talk about that isn't clear to me. In all, it just feels like you are speaking to me directly and addressing the main points to my journey. I'm an immigrant from Nigeria living in the US with my family. I launched into digital marketing/business, which in my opinion is seemingly unconventional for my race, gender and status It's a new phase, and I am grateful for it and for your wisdom you have shared. I followed and watched your videos as much as I could. I'm learning and applying the wisdom to be better and be a blessing to many, too Thank you, Ali, for this interview. I had always wanted Steve to be on the "hot seat." 😊 I wanted to hear his journey, and here it is 🙏🏿
My reflections: It felt like a refreshing change to hear massively successful business people talk about their inner worlds, what you FEEL. Especially the end was such a nice change, and much more vulnerable conversation. Things felt a bit awkward at the end, and it made me understand why people might want to put on a brave face all the time - it's can just feel more confidence-inspiring! But at the same time I love that it happened. I'm starting to understand the difference between overanalyzing situations and emotions, and properly internalising them. This is one of my favourite podcast episodes. Looking forward to seeing more of both of you 😄
HILARIOUS! Stephen beoming the Interviewer in the last 20mins and Ali having a Notion page to check in with his relationship 🤣 Two of my fave people coming together - LOVE!
I am seeking some investment guidance. It seems like I am never able to identify trends, options always go against me, and I can't utilize scanners efficiently. I am looking for a simple reproducible passive income strategy that supplements my income and eventually replace my wage income.
I have $50,000 USD that I'm considering investing in the stock market. However, I must admit that I lack the knowledge and expertise in this area. does anyone have experience in this field, and I was wondering if you could kindly point me in the direction of your advisor or someone you trust for guidance in making informed investment decisions. Any help or recommendations you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
You may Know Michelle Christine Parker but If you don't you may do some looking up and thank me later. She's been my adviser for the most part and it's been a smooth ride
My faves are talking to eachnother!!!! 😭😭 there's nothing more satisfying than seeing 2 bros vibing and celebrating each other. *calmly continues watching with vigorously waving glow sticks inside*
Epic 🔥🔥🔥 such a brilliant interview (both of the interviews!!) what an honour to have been a guest on the Deep Dive pod alongside the likes of Steven Bartlett 🤩🤩🤩🤩
this couldn't have come at a better time. i quit my 9-5 two weeks ago and officially finished work three days ago. i've felt lighter, so full of energy, and more like myself than ever before and i know this is the right decision for me! but some people in my life have been doubting me since i told them and this made me begin to doubt myself- this episode completely changed that for me and reinstilled a feeling of hope and certainty that things will work out :) so thank you for that!! when i reflect on it, both of you have genuinely changed my life in incredible ways, i'm so grateful!!! ❤❤
I was glued to this from start to finish i have so much admiration and respect for both these men for the messages they put out to the world and how much they want to help provoke positive change in themselves and others.
Ali, regarding not enjoying going to the gym, It always amazes me how people think we all have to be doing the same thing aka going to the gym but we forget there’s so many other activities you can do other than going to the gym to stay active and fit that you actually enjoy: swimming, calisthenics, cycling, basketball, hiking, jump rope etc. etc. I had to acknowledge this myself
On Power, Play and People, I think that because Steven only does things he wants/likes to do or has pleasure in them, he didn't equate adding something like play to his list of 5 things. Play is almost embedded by default in the things he does. Thank you for this conversation - I just noticed I'm commenting halfway through the podcast! 😅
When Steven says he was born in Botswana 🇧🇼 Africa 😅I felt so proud because that’s my country and some how I feel represented and inspired that I too can do great things!
Such a great interview! Thank you so much for this! I align with Steven’s way of thinking and definition of creativity, and his leadership style! This gives me inspiration.
This was great. I appreciate the honesty and transparency the both of you bring and that we don’t need to be perfect to get things moving, we just have to take action
Thankyou so much for sharing this episode with us. So awe inspiring! I had to stop and pen down all the wisdom shared. My favorite were the answers for how you handle “Jealousy and comparison” so wise ! Thanks
My deep respect for both of you. I was just watching Stevens channel and it was actually just as if I was looking at like a temple where people would come to anchor recognition for their deeds and talents and to tell their story to inspire others. Have a wonderful autumn and all the blessings!
Thank you so much for this amazing episode! I wish, I could watch it over and over again for the first time. You both are such an inspiration and to see you two do something together is just a dream come true ! You are an amazing duo ! Please do more together! Thank you ❤
I am nearly 47 years and I’m excited to see such bold and intellectual young leaders. I found this conversation insightful and valuable for my own future as well as that of coming generations. Cheers
I loved this episode so much. I'm so inspired by you both it's actually emotional for me. The brilliance, the eloquence the composure in the podcast is remarkable! Thank you.
Steven Bartlett dropped out of university and faced financial difficulties at a young age, leading to a determination for success. He founded Social Chain, a highly successful company that he later sold. Steven became the youngest ever dragon on BBC's Dragons Den (similar to Shark Tank) and hosts the podcast "The Diary of a CEO." He is also the author of books like "Happy Sexy Millionaire" and "The Diary of a CEO: The 33 Laws of Business and Life." Steven emphasizes the importance of discipline, quitting unproductive endeavors, and the need for constant self-improvement and experimentation.
I’ve been waiting for this episode. Always thought it would be “sick” (as Ali would say) and it totally was! Hopefully there’s another nugget on Steven’s podcast for a double treat 😉
It was a very inspirational video! It feels so strange to watch the video when Steven is interviewed (not the way round)😅 It's just incredible what hardships Steven's overcome and how he's been able to create the life he dreamed of! I'm simply stunned and amazed by this man😇💪
Steven ,i do love you and your podcast❤ I respect you personality the way you express your opinions and feeling, so smart, Ali you are special too❤ i have been learning a lot of things from you guys, 🎉 keep growing together, Thank God that gave me to learn this English and develop myself as a person❤ Alhamdulillah
Steven and Ali, huge appreciation for you both 🙌👏 You guys are both brilliantly succinct at conveying your insights, so always feels like time well spent listening to what you have to say!
I listen to Dairy of a CEO religiously but had never watched this one, this is such a great podcast at such a right time for me. I was made to feel really bad by the people close to me, telling me to get a "real job" instead of being a 3D artist and freelancing here and there. I have been working at jobs for like almost 11 years prior to my full take at doing 3D, i tried many jobs and I began to understand why I did not want to do any of that. I sacrificed that part of security for more time and freedom to do things I really cared about and even though I am sustaining bit by bit and building it up, people around me got impatient and started to make me feel like what I am doing is not work.
I'm new to Deep Dive and YT recommended this video. Wow! A visual of mutual appreciation. Ali is totally dialed in and Steven is dropping gems. Side note: I left Ali's book in an airport in MN :( Just repurchased. Diary of a CEO is next.
Extremely dyslexic and unable to pay attention I continuously ran away that is quit school again and again for which they lock me up for 9 months then for 5 years had me living with autistic children when I was on my own at 16 I began traveling the world had my 18th birthday in Brazil after making up hallucinogenics in the jungle with the indigenous peoples. I quit that taught myself to read and write at 19. 4 years later I was in management position at two major corporations in silicon valley. I quit that and became a photographer of minority and tribal peoples around the world. My explorations took me into the deepest canyon in the world in Tibet for which the Chinese government gave me a dinner, toasted me drinks and gave me a paper acknowledging my accomplishments. Then I quit that got married started an organic farm raised my children for 18 years then turn the farm over to my son, quit farming and I'm in Vietnam designing men's clothing. If that's successful I'm going to try my hand at architecture The only thing I'm up against now is time.

I completely resonate with the "pain of the alternative" comment. And it is difficult to see that sometimes you have to hit such a low level in your life to want to take more action. I can definitely feel that urgency right now. Not wanting to be miserable in 10 years from now because I'm barely getting enough money to live.
It's inspiring to see how flawed you both can be in some aspects and how open you are about it. Also inspiring are the systems you have for everything. Ali, I have that inclination for threes as well. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.
Thank you for this video! As a 27 yo I’ve always found any type of subject matter interesting and I’ve always been confused about what my passion truly is. This lack of understanding sprung from being surrounded by friends and peers who knew exactly what they wanted to study at university and the type of jobs that they wanted to pursue post university, as opposed to me who really just enjoyed creating and doing business no matter what it is. This video made me understand that being an entrepreneur is just that. Not being afraid to try out different things and find ways to monetise it. So truly I’m not really lost!

My son is like that, he always has known what he wants and what he doesn’t want. As a parent you don’t have any say in it. Just go with it and trust him. My son is 22 now and it’s so much fun to see what he is making of his life. Your son will thrive!
Get him checked for adhd I have it and related soooo much

“You can influence your joy when you manage your expectations” - one of the many nuggets in this podcast. Thank you.
“Maybe I need a little bit more pain” ❤ I cannot have agreed more. Most of my greatest changes happen when I’m going through something traumatic.
Truely the same place I’m at the moment
Steven seems so curious, kind, thoughtful, gracious and so full of gratitude. Inspiring talk, thank you!
that's 5@Staceyburketrading01
There is a reason why he is one of the popular podcast host
The 5 buckets are-
1) Knowledge
2) Skills
3) Resources
4) Network
5) Reputation
So true 🥹
Knowing that there's someone like me who was able to get successful is nice to know
This conversation was amazing, what a duo! I hope you have future podcast episodes together, I really enjoyed it.
I agree with you totally. Their vibe is infectious and admirable❤
Ali and Steven is a perfect combination to listen to
It's nice to see Ali open up about his struggles with comparison 50:08 sometimes I forget how we can all experience such similar things as humans. Just because you've reached what looks like 'success', doesn't mean the inner comparison will stop 💭
Steven is a survivor...and a thriver! Not just very intelligent, but incredibly wise and kind!
Steven was completely right about how happiness is a function of expectations.
I'm such a planner that I struggle with it. When you optimize for the best outcome, expectations then naturally increase too.
This was such a good podcast, two successful people chatting about it like friends, really enjoyed it
Whichever seat you sit, Steve, you ask questions from your host or your guests.
I launched into digital marketing/business, which in my opinion is seemingly unconventional for my race, gender and status
It's a new phase, and I am grateful for it and for your wisdom you have shared. I followed and watched your videos as much as I could. I'm learning and applying the wisdom to be better and be a blessing to many, too
Thank you, Ali, for this interview.
Looking forward to seeing more of both of you 😄
Steven has got to be one of the smartest people I've ever heard
Ali & Steven, two of my favorite interviewers!🙌🏼🙌🏽 Nice meeting Steven as he sits on the other side of the table.😊
While I don't consider myself an expert in this field, I'm sure you will find the expertise and support of an adviser invaluable.
Thanks a lot. I just googled her up. finds her website and sent her a mail
This is one of the very few self-help channels that’s genuinely worth watching. 10/10!
My faves are talking to eachnother!!!!
😭😭
there's nothing more satisfying than seeing 2 bros vibing and celebrating each other.
Your interview was epic as well, Robin 😊
Ah thank you Heidi 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
this couldn't have come at a better time. i quit my 9-5 two weeks ago and officially finished work three days ago. i've felt lighter, so full of energy, and more like myself than ever before and i know this is the right decision for me! but some people in my life have been doubting me since i told them and this made me begin to doubt myself- this episode completely changed that for me and reinstilled a feeling of hope and certainty that things will work out :) so thank you for that!! when i reflect on it, both of you have genuinely changed my life in incredible ways, i'm so grateful!!! ❤❤
I love all of Steven's interviews but this is probably the best one I've seen! Bravo 👏
I was glued to this from start to finish i have so much admiration and respect for both these men for the messages they put out to the world and how much they want to help provoke positive change in themselves and others.
43:31 I love how Steven started asking questions and Ali started to open up. It was like Steven was back at his chair.
HE FINALLY gets interviewed, by fav podcaster ever, such an inspo
I am so happy to see these people not only being a part of each other's podcast but also sharing the same studio! Just 180degree around. Awesome!
Ali, regarding not enjoying going to the gym,
It always amazes me how people think we all have to be doing the same thing aka going to the gym but we forget there’s so many other activities you can do other than going to the gym to stay active and fit that you actually enjoy: swimming, calisthenics, cycling, basketball, hiking, jump rope etc.
I thought the same thing, and I also paused at 42:47 to read comments because I thought that distinction was very interesting 😅
Naija to the world! Steven is half Nigerian! 🇳🇬
Was surprised when he said it. Naija to d world truly
This is such an awesome interview. Love both Ali and Steven. Such intelligence and brilliance ❤
I’ve listened to many of Steven’s podcasts. It was so delightful to hear you interview him and learn more about him more in depth.
Love this so much! As a fan of DOAC, seeing Steven being interviewed is awesome.
Two of my favorite people on UA-cam
Thank you.
Am overwhelmed by how much Listening to Steven & Ali ignites so much thought .Just Woow.Bless you ..
I enjoyed every bit of this flowing harmonious conversation, thank you both legends. also about the notion & expectations alignment, noted 😊😊.
Great to finally see Steven on that seat . Thank you for sharing.
Steven Bartlett dropped out of university and faced financial difficulties at a young age, leading to a determination for success.
He founded Social Chain, a highly successful company that he later sold.
Steven became the youngest ever dragon on BBC's Dragons Den (similar to Shark Tank) and hosts the podcast "The Diary of a CEO." He is also the author of books like "Happy Sexy Millionaire" and "The Diary of a CEO: The 33 Laws of Business and Life."
Steven emphasizes the importance of discipline, quitting unproductive endeavors, and the need for constant self-improvement and experimentation.
This will be the most viewed video in this channel after 1 month 👌👊 The Ultimate CEO is here
I’ve been waiting for this episode. Always thought it would be “sick” (as Ali would say) and it totally was! Hopefully there’s another nugget on Steven’s podcast for a double treat 😉
What an inspiring conversation to listen to! You guys are a top notch combo 👌🏻
This is the tag team I needed to see. So much gold in here. Thank you both.
I am falling in love with this Steve Bartlett. What a beautiful human being. So intelligent, wise and empathetic.
It was a very inspirational video! It feels so strange to watch the video when Steven is interviewed (not the way round)😅
It's just incredible what hardships Steven's overcome and how he's been able to create the life he dreamed of! I'm simply stunned and amazed by this man😇💪
When you invest, you're buying a day you don't have to work
You're right, it's obvious a lot of people remain poor due to ignorance, it's better to take risks and make sacrifices than to remain poor
Obviously trading in bitcoin is very volatile and risky to trade that's the reason most traders trade with a company
Learn and trade under a guide I do same and I hardly make losses in the market
I wish I knew about this Bitcoin trading earlier, brace up and get yourself some Bitcoin before it's too late
Investments are stepping stone to SUCCESS, Investing is what create wealth
Great interview! I am about to launch my first business online and got a lot of inspireation from this interview. Both of you sre terrific .
I just wanna gain all the knowledge Steven & Ali have. I would love to be a fly on the wall of all their meetings. ❤
we´re SO lucky we get to listen to these ppl as if they´re our friends. So much wisdom unlocked.
Absolutely loved the podcast. Can I get your notion template for relationships? I found it very interesting.
So good, Ali! Love your stuff and Steven’s stuff too. What could be better?
Steven ,i do love you and your podcast❤ I respect you personality the way you express your opinions and feeling, so smart, Ali you are special too❤ i have been learning a lot of things from you guys, 🎉 keep growing together, Thank God that gave me to learn this English and develop myself as a person❤ Alhamdulillah
Steven and Ali, huge appreciation for you both 🙌👏 You guys are both brilliantly succinct at conveying your insights, so always feels like time well spent listening to what you have to say!
Love the relationship chat exchange ! Treating the realationship like a business with reviews and action points ! Fantastic
Thank you! Feeling so privileged to have access to these minds. So grateful! ❤
I'm new to Deep Dive and YT recommended this video. Wow! A visual of mutual appreciation. Ali is totally dialed in and Steven is dropping gems. Side note: I left Ali's book in an airport in MN :( Just repurchased. Diary of a CEO is next.
Love how switched the interview and ended up becoming the interviewer..
This was an absolute treat! What a banger of an episode, this is the most valuable content I've seen to date. Thank you Ali, Steven and Team.
No Steven! YOU are the King of Interviews. The questions you ask are The Best! ❤
From Botswana? I'm hooked. I would be searching more about him now. I don't know for what reason. But yeah!
🎉 finally - potentially two of the most creative entrepreneurs in the uk doing a podcast together 🙌🙌🙌
That is so awesome 👏🏽 I feel privileged to be able to see this interview. I have so much to hear/learn from this interview❤
Glad to see Steven in the interview chair. Excited for this. What a crossover!

Love this episode! More of you two!
I completely resonate with the "pain of the alternative" comment. And it is difficult to see that sometimes you have to hit such a low level in your life to want to take more action. I can definitely feel that urgency right now. Not wanting to be miserable in 10 years from now because I'm barely getting enough money to live.
Love Steven and his podcasts DOAC❤ thank you for this excellent interview 🎉
It's inspiring to see how flawed you both can be in some aspects and how open you are about it. Also inspiring are the systems you have for everything. Ali, I have that inclination for threes as well. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.
Hey Ali, enjoyed this podcast! Just a heads up that I saw 2 ads consecutively right after another. Maybe want to limit it to one for UX.
Ahhhh I already had my schedule for the day but iv gotta squeeze this one in 👀 👀👀 Gona be an epic collab
Love this! Good luck in your entrepreneurship
I’m getting emotional listening to you talk about your childhood. It’s like a mirror image. 🥺
What i love about Ali is his sincère integraty. Thank you for this incredible podcast ..learned so much !
