I’m looking at finding a cheap but reliable vortec 5.3 but car prices are to much right now and if I go the route of buying just the engine and trans and wiring harness I’m looking at about the same price for a used vehicle
Sn95 mustang, that late 90s model, kind of ugly but I think it's probably the best
@@nicscharing yeah, get a 94-95 for a 5.0 if you want to supercharge, or a 96-98 4.6 if you want to turbo and put the later model PI head on it. Easy 500hp on stock internals for about 2-3k. Worst part is they suck NA and need boost without spending 10k to make 350hp
If it’s as expensive as a used car then just buy a used 99-2013 4.8-5.3-6.0 GM truck/suv and make some money back by selling what you don’t use.
@@williamw3559 The npi heads arent the issue on the early 4.6. its the cams and intake that bottleneck everything.
@@madmod yeah, thats for some more power. I built my 96 mustang to about 400 wheel NA and it was not cheap at all. I regret not biting the bullet and just getting a SC. Cams make a huge difference, but the intake seemed to be pretty good except for the low height. Larger TB and injectors is a necessity too along with a larger fuel pump.

Totally WRONG!!! QUICKEST easiest way 1,000 HP? Electric motor,Kennedy trans adapter,& trans that'll deal with it
Alright so here’s a cheaper way, get a hellcat engine and twin turbo it at 15 psi each. Should be pushing 1000hp for about 12k.
Where are you gonna find a hellcat motor and couple of snails for 12k , hell totaled hellcats are still selling for like 15k plus

@@andrewkinsley7497 well you don’t buy the whole car for one. Found a few around me for about 8k but if that’s not the case where you live then go for a 6.1 hemi. Or an even easier way is to find an ls block and forge it and twin turbo it.
Also the twin turbo kit for the hemis are about 6k and it fits all of them.
I'm sure whatever trans you're throwing this in would handle everything just fine and not shatter into a thousand pieces once you floor it
