- Injuries, recoveries and a truck driver; the squad are back for episode 4 of the Syndicate 2024 series, and it’s safe to say the race season has been a full on rollercoaster for all involved.
First up, Jackson’s Back! Kind of… We catch up with Jackson Goldstone to find out how his recovery is going after his huge crash at Hardline at the start of the year. Having to deal with the realities of not racing this year was a big struggle for Jacko, but thankfully his positive attitude (and Call of Duty) got him past the worst of it. He’s now roughly half way through his recovery, and the only way is up from here!
It’s then off to round 3 of the UCI DH World Cup to tackle one of the hardest races at Leogang to date. Loz gives us an update as he’s handling his ongoing battle with Epstein-Barr Virus, and how even on some of his worst days mentally, he’s been able to battle on and achieve respectable results. As put by Wyn, it was “all action, no traction” come race day, with the whole team sadly not leaving with the results they had hoped for, Nina’s elbow injury from qualifications knocked her confidence, causing her some difficulties for finals.
With spirits still high, we hit the road in Gazzy B’s truck to learn a bit more about the silent shredder… turns out he’s more than just a truck driver! Gaz is an absolute pinner on a bike, a chiller in the pits and has an eagle’s eye during track walk. The team explain why he’s such a valuable member of the crew, whilst Gaz parks the truck to get loose on his bike.
Back to the black snake - Val di Sole is considered by many as one of the toughest downhill tracks on the WC circuit, and the constantly changing conditions this year proved to be as big a challenge as ever. Ollie took a big slam in finals, which he was understandably gutted about, but also thankful to get away lightly from. Nina finished the race in 6th place, which is a huge achievement after her recent injury at Leogang..

Level headed Jackson!! Good to see you in good spirits and ready for next year. The mindset of a knee injury is no joke. One who has had 5 knee surgeries. 3 ACLs, 2 patellas and 1 knee now with only secondary cartilage, and I am out everyday riding because I can't do board sports anymore but the pedal cadence and rotary movement is so good on the knee. Looking forward to next season Bro. Syndicate fam keep shredding.
Kudos to you keeping your spirits up throughout all those knee issues.
so sad to see Laurie gutted for his season, I hope he stays on the team next year as well
All the best for you Jackson. Good and full recovery for you!
Gazzy B. One of the unsung heroes of of the world cup!!

Looking forward to seeing Jackson race again !!! Mint to see ROIDY @Steve Peat give him a job !!!!
Next year is the right call
that crash was savage.
Lets go
That is so insane he or his sponsors didn’t pay for a private mri immediately. Next time bro get RB to send you out to steadman in vail.
It was the nature of being in backwoods, Tasmania and deciding it was best to get home to the doctors and specialists that will be consistent throughout recovery
Hell race mount Saint Ann
🇺🇸Dude, jus' let it heal, slowly, fo everything as prescribed by, the doctor & Physical Therapists, We got the finest docs in the entire World here, i did my ACL tear twice, im😜65 still riding Crazy as ever, 🎊🏜️👍Scottsdale, Arizona🎉🇺🇸
Be careful with that Epstein Barr stuff. It's been shown to be a precursor to MS, which ended my mountain biking career. Stay strong and fight on!
WHERE IS THE GOAT???!?!?!?!
At Norco
Cuántos likes para que me regalen una Santa Cruz?
I'm confused...the world's best mountain biker still needs to go through the Canadian public healthcare system and wait weeks for an MRI?! Why didn't redbull or santa cruz just get him a private MRI asap?
Yeah, I know right? I mean they all have the best of medical insurance so the sponsors wouldn’t have to pay a penny, makes no sense 🤷🏼♂️
Getting home and getting looked at is what Jackson wanted to do. All good.
Really bad audio/music choise on that humbling "new" shitty songs...
Lol. You know your team is not having a good season when you are showcasing the truck driver lol. Maybe should have kept Greg.
Gazzy B - More than a truck driver! - It takes a lot of different roles to make a World Cup team run smoothly, and Gaz is a one-man support unit. Truck driver, Pit builder, line filmer, all-around-good-guy, and total shredder. We're lucky to have him.
Can’t believe you guys treated Greg like that. Will never buy or recommend Santa Cruz
Wait, let me get this straight. Is every Red Bull athlete required to put on their Red Bull helmet whenever they appear on any media? Is it part of their contract? Just yesterday I was watching Charles Murray interviewing Richie Rude and ffs I can't shake it off why would he wear a non-full face Red Bull helmet when he races enduro, heck why would even wear one off the race??
What do you think a helmet sponsorship entails???
If you are high profile enough a company will give you loads of money to use your skull as advertising space.
This is blowing your mind how?
Disappointing to see where Santa Cruz has ended up. Karma?
All teams go through bouts of injuries. All just part of the sport and life of an elite athlete pushing the limits.
That Travis Scott song is wild, it’s needs to be released in the states.@travisscott
