Man, I thought I saw you in BK's video and there you are 😅 Despite the unsatisfying quali for you, this was overall the most interesting video of the event that I have seen - you beat BK in that aspect 🤠 Looking forward to the next one, I'm getting the hang of watching these urban downhill races now. I always felt uncomfortable just watching it because there is no run-off, only walls and square edges, which makes it really high consequence when something goes wrong and there have been some pretty awful crashes over the years...
I thought from the footage that you'd unclipped and caught the wall getting your foot back in. That's a bummer Great to hear you were having fun overall though and that the bike was on point. Hopefully that's enough bad luck for now and the next races will go better
That was a tough go in the qualifying run. The amount of speed you have to carry in those narrow corridors is insane. The big gap jump on the flat was nerve wracking to me, as at times during the practice runs, the landing looked short. The last jump looked like you slid off the ramp on landing, which I thought that's what you were upset about. These races are so risky and you really have to be dialed in as there is no margin for error. Glad you made it through. Don't be disappointed. You lived to ride another day. As with racing, you never know what race day will bring, no matter how much you prepare. Be safe!
Urban downhill is so much more taxing mentally Not because the features are more difficult, but because of the edges, concrete walls, curbs... if you fall, you dont eat shit... you eat concrete 🤪
