Putting hair in boiled water is not like direct heat from flat irons because the water keeps it moisturized and the conditioner you added will soften and treat the hair. The heat opens up the cuticle and allows moisture in deeper and the silicone and oils will seal it in when dry. It's just like steaming hair or sitting under a dryer with a deep conditioner but more effective because the heat can go higher and the hair is totally surrounded by water. That's why it feels so great when it is done. Of course opening the cuticle will also let color escape, especially red. to refresh it use a red color and a 10 volume developer because all you will need to do is deposit color, or use a semi-permanent like adore with no developer. The problem with direct heat from irons is that it they remove all of the moisture and leave the hair vulnerable :-)

Yea I didn't think the boiling water would damage the hair. More so open up the cuticles like you said and the water will add moisture to the hair. They do say water is one way to moisturize your hair 💯

Pro tip! This is awesome for synthetic hair too. It will revive it, give it body and shine.
HOWEVER, this only works temporarily(about 2-3 days) , you have to redo it often once your hair gets to this point. It's a great quick fix though!

Starr Prater YES! I tried it on a big curly unit once. The down side is you have to always detangle the hair before you boil it. And we all know how much of a pain it is to brush out old synthetic curly hair.

Guys, it works. For those who are new wig users, you might be scared to do it but if your wig is crappy and you want to straighten it but you don't have a flat iron; this works.

I've been using silicon mix for AGES! This stuff is the TRUTH! The only difference with how I do my unit is, I wash the hair multiple times, I use clarifying shampoo, then I coat the hair with the silicon mix, I place the hair in a ziplock bag, and I microwave it for 1 minute rinse repeatedly with cold water and wah-la, DEEP CONDITIONED, New hair!!!

Jeanica2Natural, I do rinse it out.....but not totally! And I don't use any products after. What I also do is, I make an solution of water with some siliconmix and spray it on my hair.... I mean "on my wig" :))

i tried this last friday except i left the silicone mix on the hair while wet and put it in a plastic bag and “cooked” it in the microwave. any old school stylist knows about microwave curls that’s basically the technique i used.. and honey let’s just say i can’t wait to put that unit back on. the best $6 ever spent.

And I've been dipping my synthetic hair in boiling water for years. Braid it and boil it to get waves. Big braids for loose waves. Little braids for tight waves. Or I use rollers or curling rods and dip those to get nice tight curls. The bigger the roller/rod, the bigger the curl. I'm doing this tonite.

I tried this yesterday, and I must say, my wig did bounce back. It was dry and matted mess, I shampood after like you said. I only had a little bit of conditioner left. I used my silk elements cause it's all I had, and a little olive oil. I let it sit for at least an hour though. The water was still warm but I went ahead and took it out, and I did use a dryer cap cause I needed it to be dry. I straightened it this morning and it is light and flowy again. It was matting up constantly in the back like a rats nest. I couldn't even wear it down anymore but now I can. It still tangles( i think i over bleached it, could be the hair) But it looks really really good and I do see a difference. YEA!!!!!

I just bought those leggings from pink not knowing how good they would look in person. I hope they look just as good on me.
This actually works but I tried a different method on hair that I bleached. I washed with hot (very hot) water, used anti breakage Keratin oil shampoo and burned my hands 😭 I used keratin oil condition rendering conditioner. I rinsed the hair both times with very cold water thoroughly. When I let the hair air dry, I used sleek and shine treatment oil while it was still damp. My hair came out very soft and hasn’t tangled since. It’s been a month. Like your wig, the lace started balding. Luckily I have a small head and was able to cut the access to fit me more (the cap was big to begin with).
Wow, I had the same color. I was trying to get rid of the color bc I was tired of it so I boiled my hair ( I used baking soda & soap... Girl...now my hair is burnt , Gone with the wind. 😞 Idk if I left it too long but never again. I miss my hair (weave) lol

Silicon mix is the only thing i use on my weave. The boiling method definitely works.
I have extensions that have been sitting in a lil random makeup bag for over a year, all sorts of tangles and matted up. I boiled them right after watching this and I swear it's like night & day. I feel like they're brand new again yaaaas!
I like to use a hand steamer better than boiling on my synthetic hair it makes straighter and brand new feeling for like 3 days. You use it like how you'd blow dry it you have to pull the hair in the direction it flows. I wouldn't do it to human hair though I don't see the point. Silicon mix works well on its own.

Yes!!!! I put some weave silicone on my wig, I was in an hurry and I use the glue for my lashes and it came with the glue. Anywho was in a rush and couldn’t find my wig sheen spray. So I used it and I was like damn. Just boiled my wigs and I’m going to use that weave unbending silicone crap lmao!!
I typically put silicon mix all over the hair or whatever deep treatment, put the hair with the treatment in a plastic bag then boil the hair in the plastic bag for how ever time u please. I have never tried it like this. But the other method works. And I wash the hair before

Sophiology super easy and less messy lol. basically you just get your silicon shampoo and wash it. and then you leave the silicon conditioner in. microwave for 1-2 min. but make sure you put the wig or hair in a plastic bag and tie tightly, I love that method sooo much!!! I just did it today. it took me one time to boil my hair it jacked that hair up lol. but yes you should definitely try the microwave method.

You also should try washing it and put it in a zip lock bag with conditioner on it the in the freezer; the longer it stays the better but you can rinse the conditioner out next day and use it.

So I over toned my hair with purple shampoo and couldn't get it out with Lemon juice or anything so I took her off and boiled her and it took the purple out of my hair COMPLETELY!!! Please do a video on this cuz I used lemon juice, clarifying shampoo, and bleach/shampoo and NOTHING WORKED!! People must know that boiling your wig will remove over toned purple

I personally dont wear wigs. However I looove wearing halo human hair extions.💝💝💝 I have long straight hair however I wish my hair was thicker. I dont wear my extions for length like alota my g.f.s I wear them for more volume/thicker hair. Unfortunitly my extitentions are looking tired and dry af latly...😱😱😱😱 Im sooo sick of buying more and more hair every 6months. It really starts adding up esp. Since its human hair. I recently found out to make human hair extions - all human hair extions are soaked in vats of boiling water & silicone. I never understood why washing my extions always left them sooo dry!😱😱😱 However Now I fully realize its cos each time im washing them its sttipping off the silicone leaving me with dry af hair esp. The ends. I personally wont use heat toold on my human hair extentions nor will i blow dry them. But just washing them over 4months makes them horrible and not blend with my reallly healthy beautiful hair.. Soo latly i havmt even been wearing my extions. Cos id rather have less voluminous hair then hair that looks ldry af likehorse hair mixed with healthy hair. Its just not blendable or working at all. Ive invested literally thousands into hair extions over ovr the past few years and I never throw my hair away eithr. Soo im going to purchase this silicone product today and try revitalizing all my extentions and see what the results turn out. Im praying to the hair gods tht it makes them like new afain.
