- Before anyone in the comments posts about how they've done this before, this is NEW GAME Professional which means I don't have access to any bonus weapons or pretty much anything other than the weapons in the world and whatever I can find in boxes. Was a pretty fun challenge honestly hope you enjoy!

This video was so much fun. Dist was awfully upbeat and seems like he was having a lot of fun for the playthrough; compared to his original No Merchant run or his speedruns, it's nice to see him play with a bit less stakes involved and just, have a good time.

Distortion2 should do speedrun tutorials. This channel would blow up since he's one of the best speedrunners in the world. Imagine how many speedrunners he'll inspire. 😂😂😂 Especially his monotone voice

At 373K his channel is already considered as a hit 😮 if your watching his video in full you can literally take bits and pieces and apply them to you run

There is also 3 rhinoceros beetles in the game that increase your max health when you eat them, just putting it out there. :P
Also the shooting range loot is also not entirely random, that is why you see the same loot so much, it has like a weird set value for your save file that refreshes each ng+, I can't really explain it but there are UA-cam videos about it, so the curious can look it up. ^^

I feel like a lot of the challenges were intended for NG+, but on assisted, standard, and hardcore I’d say they’re still rather easy and enjoyable. Professional, even just because of the lack of checkpoints, is just a slog for me, so mad respect for those who do these challenges on it.

Are the damage numbers not shown on video? I'd be interested in seeing them for record sake. I've avoided all gameplay altering mods, but it sounds like some good information for decision making.
I watched him since Re2 Remake, untill now still amazing playing RE.
For future runs, when you get to the part at 43:00: if you go to the stairs after the second guard on the left and sound the alarm there with a gunshot, you can bait them around and jump down from the upper ledge. Then just hug the wall on the right and maybe shoot a trap or two to avoid ashley getting stuck and you can get through without using a flash
32:00 I swear to god, if they're not on camera the enemies in this game will just teleport around into situations to fuck you. They'll suddenly 'nothing personnel kid' behind you to grab you (Enemies grab you SO FUCKING MUCH in this game!) or teleport to Ashley to grab her even though less than a second ago when you were looking at them they were across the map and a non-factor. :T
People asking where is he gonna get a rifle never bothered getting that AR.
The game was still relatively new when this was uploaded.

You can leave Ashley behind at the church just crouch near the edge and clip into the wall then interact with the ladder simultaneously. Its easier than the scoping glitch.
Good to know; you do miss out on the co-op treasures throughout the chapter though?

Garrador in prison can be skipped with a single flash. Stun time is enough to crank the gates.
I cant wait to start seeing some of the in game challenges done all together in runs. That will require some extreme in game knowledge.

You are able to go to the shooting range in no merchant, as I’ve been doing in my “silent stranger” run.
Still waiting for NG+ before trading the tokens in though, if only so I can rush to the Lake each time if I get too many duplicates…

@@StevelyBruckShut handcannon bullets go through armour including enemies protection on any mode and if a boss has 10000 health and 10000 armour equals 20000 hit points the handcannon does damage through the armour.
The best run, becuase he actually saves the dog.

Im still struggling on standard and I see stuff like this. I can't imagine getting this good at the game. Also that double Garrador room feels kind of crappy to me even just watching it. They are supposed to react to sound but so many times I see them seemingly know exactly where you are despite not being anywhere near where the sound was that they were reacting to. Just kind of feels off in that it seems like they react to sound but otherwise are able to perfectly path to where Leon is even if it doesn't make sense for them to.
My hardcore / pro run was 25hrs+ each probably died 100+ times. 5th playthrough in hardcore S+ in 4hrs. Thing to realize is each area is very scripted to go a way you can manipulate each room when you learn the routes n patterns of enemy placement and what guns to use in each fight
In the classic RE4, Garrador would slowly walk towards you as well even if you made no sound. I assume it was either they could smell you or just a way to keep you from sitting in a corner like a baby. xD At least in RE4R as long as you don't sprint they can't hear you, in the classic they would hear you walk as well if you were close enough and most of the time you were because they are almost always right on top of you.

Can someone tell me how Dist was seeing how much damage things were doing during the village El Gigante fight? Like he said the dog did 3500 damage but i see no damage numbers anywhere.
Did this today on hardcore. Man, it's all chill town up until Krauser (Mutaded) and the last chapters. Had a strategy more focused on the CBQR and had like 120 bullets for Sadler (was making ammo since village lol).
Overall, a very fun challenge until late game.
Having to save the knife for the entire game just for 1 Boss is really annoying. And the best part is- the game gives you a new knife AFTER killing Krauser. Trolling little bastards

I'm doing a no guns run for professional difficulty (bolt thrower with mines only, grenades, RPG and knife, it forces the accuracy counter to be 100%, similar to 0% hit rate in the base game. Firing bolts without mines will trigger accuracy so it can't be used). Still routing, but so far it's been hell. Honestly at this point I'm just happy that I got to water room, nearly beat it too but Ashley got grabbed after doing both cranks. Just gotta spend more time routing this.
0% runs were crazy in the OG, sounds fun though keep it up!

@@autisticcrusader1915 Sadly yes, I saw this. I have to just ignore that this section exists, or never miss a shot here in order to maintain the 100% accuracy. Simply calling it a 100% accuracy run also feels weird to me because I think the restriction of not even being able to shoot things like the blue medallions makes things way more interesting to me.

I just finished a NG playthough on Assisted with no merchant or healing and pistol/knives only.
Damn was it a fun playthough
I played assisted this weekend after beating professional twice and hardcover once. It's a huge difference. Assisted is a walk I'm the park .
What about doing that on professional? It's that posible?

@@princessgumbo well I did exactly what OP did, 4 trophies on Assisted. And I just finished my pro s+. That assisted, no merchant, only pistol/knife, under 8 hours, and no heals was the hardest playthroughs. You’re literally playing the entire game pretty much one shot. Health takes like 5 minutes to recover and even then you’re going to get hit because you’re running through swarms. So one grab and you’re done
That run was lowkey difficult
So apparently if you save the dog whenever it appears at the El Gigante fight his health instantly goes back to full at that so you basically start over so the better strat would be not to help the dog

I'm grinding the trophies on PS5 and decided to do a No healing, No merchant, under 8h run to save some time and get these 3 trophies! And I'm on Assisted for the health regeneration. My God, what was I thinking?!? XD 6h15 in and half of Chapter 15 done, but I'm getting my butt kicked!

@@thelonesomewanderer8359 I already did. But I threw in no merchant because you got infinite ammo and literally just run through its not hard, it's just time consuming. Couple bosses can be a bit annoying cause of how many shots it takes to kill them. But with parrys makes it easy. Just time consuming.
