I just made one of these. I wish I had found your stencil first!!! I used one already put together [my friend had], to trace it out on carboard and make my stencil. It was NOT a fun process! The one I stenciled from used pocket screws like you did, but I decided to use wood dowels at those joints so the deer can be flipped to either side with out having to see the screw holes. After gluing and doweling, I also pre-drilled and then nailed vertically down through the neck and tail in to the body.
I wish I could post a picture. I just made this out of one solid piece of wood so it’s just 2D (going to hold it up with rebar in the front yard). Thanks so much:)
I loved the design of your deer! Will you have the design of the sled and other deer available to manufacture? I loved your idea, you are very kind to share.❤
Great video and instruction. I'm already thinking of Christmas Decorations for next year. I have a sled but need some reindeer. Thanks for sharing and continued success. Merry Christmas. Hope you had a wonderful day and are safe. Love PegEgg
That was absolutely amazing!!!! New subbie here. So great to see everybody's creativity in this collaboration. So glad you participated. Must go binge watch your channel :)
I love this project! I plan on doing a 12 days of Christmas Wood series and was wondering if you'd mind if I built this and included the plans in my description? All credit and link to you obviously.
Thanks for doing this!! I made 3 reindeer and the sleigh. Didn’t like the “Her Toolbelt” on the printed paper though, guys at work had fun messing with me after seeing that..😬
Brilliant build. Can I ask if you have a pattern for the sleigh you made. If so, so you have a link. I would love to make one or two of these for the G-kids. Thanks in advance 👍
Why no video for the sleigh? I did found a pattern, but sometime, a visual is better at understanding, especially for those new at reading patterns. Or maybe a video about how to lay the pattern on the board and how to decorate it. And how long is the 1x8 board?
Hi! I know that this video is a few years old, but I am wondering if your pattern stencils are still available for download? I visited your website, but I couldn't find a link to access the pattern. Can you help? Thanks.
Nice project thank you for the plans, looked for the sleigh video, any chance of where to get the plans for the sleigh ? Thank you keep on working the wood !
From the project text, I stained the reindeer pieces before assembling it together. The antler was stained with antique white and after the white soaked in, I lightly brushed it with my stain soaked rag from the deer body. The rest of the deer is stained with classic gray, followed by jacobean. All Minwax stains.
I LOVE your videos! I would like to try this project. Can I sell the finished product that I make or is the pattern for personal use only? I have tried to find that information, but am unable to see it written anywhere. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the pattern & the directions !!! I just made two of them..........
Wow! I liked your editing with tossing the board up and the reindeer coming back down. That scroll saw looks awesome! That's a lot of tedious cutting!
Tedious cutting can be minimised by using a CNC router. However time is also needed for doing the cam programming
Amy! Truly this is the best project ever! i LOVE IT! I need to make one for my front porch! Such a great Christmas decoration!
