I've started using your methods for my daily make up... and I love it... I'm 35... I don't need the "instagram" look... I want fresh and natural... and learning tips of how to lightly apply foundation or the "no foundation" look has helped me so much... I'm more focused on skin care and letting myself shine through... not cover... thank you! I would really love a video on cruelty free products!
I love that you use your fingers so much, so many times on YT there's ppl bringing out like 84 brushes to do a "natural" look, and here you are just tapping and blending away with a delicate hand and you always look great, I love it👏🏼
Yes I did.....when I told people (teachers at school, some family members, careers advisors etc) I was going to be a make-up artist, they thought it was a bad idea. If its what you want to do with your life and you are passionate, you must go for it and believe in yourself! X
The green and yellow rings you wear are so pretty! I notice them every video. as woman nearing 50 I very much appreciate the fresh, pretty, natural makeup techniques you provide
I would love a version of this video for extremely cold weather. I know you did a blog post about skincare at some point, but I feel there are special challenges involved in wearing makeup when it's -20C. Mascara freezes and leaks, skin gets dry and red, etc.
That Maybelline creme shadow is my favorite thing in my makeup bag, I think I use it more than anything else. I have really oily lids so I do usually have to use a primer under it, but once it's on it doesn't budge.
If you are out in the sun, or on a beach etc then you need to reapply every couple of hours. However, if you are at work, not outdoors all day and wearing full make-up then you can touch up with a powdered sunscreen. Have a look at my 'sunscreen videos' I recommend the Peter Thomas Roth ones in that. X
"thin layers, well-blended" - that's what I say to myself when I put on my makeup now :) I tend to be heavy-handed and sometimes we forget how much makeup we're putting on. thanks for the tips :)
Lisa, I have a slightly darker neck than my face, what should i do to make it even (my face and neck) because i heard somewhere --i forgot where, that you shouldn't put foundation onto your neck. thank you.
If it's a slight difference, you can get away with just using bronzer strategically--along the jawline, softly along the edges of your face, across your nose, etc, like lisa does. I think that's a good way to do it because it would look very natural if the rest of you is the bronzer shade. If it's quite a big difference, you could get a darker tinted moisturizer to mix with your regular foundation, but you'd have to blend it in really well
Venny Ang either you match your face to your neck or you match your neck to your face; people like bobbi brown don't believe in putting foundation on the neck I think, she uses bronzers to even out the skin tones between neck and face (If face is lighter than neck, then use bronzer to deepen/warm up the face to match the neck, and vice versa). Some people believe in putting foundation PAST the jawline, as the "boundary between jaw and neck" is something they absolutely abhor. The key is to create a uniformity between the face and neck, as if they're in one skin tone. So it basically all comes down to personal choice. Some people do put foundation on neck and some people don't. I'm on more of the "blend the rest of the foundation down to the neck" kind of person, but not necessarily "put foundation on my neck as much as I do on my face". Just remember to clean them when you're cleaning your face! I also think, well, you might as well, because you should be putting sunscreen on your neck (if they're exposed during the day) anyway. Neck shows one of the first signs of aging and not protecting your neck from sunlight can significantly age your neck through wrinkles and spots,
Lisa I absolutely love the way you speak, so fluent and clear and the way your "s" sounds in sentences.. very classy, graceful and elegant and of course you look magnificent as well
Lisa, thank you so so much for this video. I suffer with oily skin and no make up lasts on me in the summer so I normally don't wear it; but for work meetings in London it has to be done. After watching this video a few times I have now found a waterproof foundation that works amazingly on my skin - didn't know they existed for oily skin - and my makeup stayed perfect all day!! It even works when I am on stage!! I sing in a band - stage lights and performances wreck foundation. I can't thank you enough for helping me :) :) :)
I appreciate all of these tips. You are by far one of my favorite makeup artists on youtube. You have a passion for makeup and its very obvious. However, you still seem to remain humble after all of the success. Thanks, for taking the time out to share your gift.
Lisa, you've probably heard this a million times before, but I love your gentle approach when it comes to makeup. I've seen successful colleagues of yours apply makeup slap-dash, yet with immaculate results. You achieve the same outcome, whilst however respecting the face and honoring your art. Almost like paying hommage to beauty every time you pick up a brush. Your advice is like drops of ripe wisdom, and I thank you deeply! Claire
Can anyone tell that which foundation will work best if you are very dry skin and going to live in a very hot humid area.i am thinking of estee lauder double wear.but fear about my dry skin.
You should get a cc cream instead of a bb cream or a regular foundation. CC creams are a bit thicker than regular foundation and are perfect for dry skin
Hi I have Estée Lauder double wear and a very dry flaky forehead. The foundation goes on fine if you use benefit porefessional primer and a sponge with dabbing motions x
Lisa, I can't tell you this enough, but I LOVE your tutorials where you do the makeup on yourself because of the way you talk at the camera. Great makeup as always!
I love how all of your videos contain tons of tips (especially ones like this one, the first date one, the "no make-up" one, etc). I learn so many things that I can apply to many looks, not just those demonstrated. :)
...So today, i finally bought the product i didn`t have for this, and applied the way you teach us here Lisa, the results are SO GOOD!!! Already got compliments! I look so fresh with cream brush applied blush, my eyes are so better defied with that technique! All so much easier! so much fun! Thank you Lisa! This is so good to learn!
The timing could not be better for this for London. I've followed this two days now and it makes such a huge difference to be able to wear make up in such temperatures. I'm wilting away inwardly when I dare step outdoors from work but my make up has stayed more fresh than anything. Really useful, cool and much appreciated. X
Beautiful Lisa, It's not the first time that I observe the difference Made by the mascara on your bottom lashes: wow, it adds definition, depth, drama... It helps to enhance the expression of your eyes!!! I' ll try on myself( have always been sure that mascara on bottom lashes reduced the size of My eyes... I am probably wrong!!!!) thank you once more, you're always such an inspiration of beauty and class:-) Anna
I'm seventeen years old and I've looked up to you ever since I saw you on 10 years Youngers like 5 years ago! You're so inspiring and ladylike! Love you lisa xx
I love your videos so much, Lisa! Always look forward to them and you give such great tips! Don't ever stop making videos, you're one of the very few actually talented makeup artists on UA-cam. Your makeup like any of those other makeup artists, your makeup is always so natural and flawless! x
Thank you so much for this video! I found it to be very helpful, not only in identifying what I was doing wrong with makeup during really hot days (too thick, meltable makeup), but how to make up a beautiful eye!
Thank you for this Lisa!! I am off to London for Afternoon Tea at Claridges on Saturday and have been wondering what on earth I am going to do with make up all day with two hours of travelling each way and 11 hours in London itself and this has answered all of my questions! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I've loved your vids for a long time and you've helped me soooo much when it comes to makeup. I like that you don't just copy celeb makeup, but do real looks for real people. This tutorial couldn't have come at a better time as it's getting so hot here in England and I've been sweating like crazy! Just by watching you, I've gained great confidence in doing my makeup, and you've really taught me that less is more. You do so much more than makeup on here and I love you for that x
I now live in a very hot and humid country, every day of the year. It takes a long time to adjust makeup to this climate, and some of the products you suggest are very good. The Canonball mascara really is the best. The formula is very good because it lasts all day and it doesn't move. I would love to see an updated video with products you recommend for hot and humid climate, but also for a different occasion.
I was having a bad sunday today but i wanted to get myself out of it so im watching your video because your videos always put me in a better mood. Thanks Lisa for sharing your makeup skills. xx
the maybelline toush as/permanent taupe really looked good on you, i was supposed to use this on my sister for prom but she looked disastrous, so i opted for a more basic look which turned out to be very similar with the jessica biel look you did, even the coloring is very similar, thank you LIsa, i love you from the bottom of my heart!
Absolutely brilliant video with practical tips and products rather than saying don't bother with make up or just wear tinted moisturiser. I wore the Doublewear foundation, Maybelline shadow and Eyeko eyeliner for a day walking round Kew Gardens on Sunday and can vouch for them all staying in place all day even in 28 degree heat and my oily skin.
I really needed this tutorial. Living in the humid southern part of the U.S. really takes a toll on my look and everything wants to either bleed, smudge, or run. Thank you Lisa!
Thank you so much for your tutorials! Today I tried Maybelline Color Tattoo No 40 and it looks gorgeous! Normally I would never buy this shade as it looks unattractive in a jar ( at least it looks unattractive to me). But in combination with dark brown eyes it looks amazing! And stays really long. Next I'm going to try khaki-coloured liner!
I have a light textured cream longlasting foundation that feels like air most of the year but I found in the really hot summer times it felt heavy. I actually did use a concealer stick instead for those times, and you're right about really thin layers, I think that works the best, as for makeup actually lasting, it usually, even in winter, slides off my nose the most [oil] I would say a fixing spray could work [which I intend to test out] and really good powder, a mattifying toner helps me loads in summer, as well as matte primer on tzone [which I always use even in winter ]
Great look especially for humid days. Love the thin layers idea, I will repeat that to myself this summer when I have the urge to be more heavy handed. Beautiful!
I'm so excited you used EL double wear light because that's what I use. LADIES, she speaks the truth. this is super long lasting. I wore this to a dinner, a movie, watching the sunrise at the beach and back home and this foundation did not move!
I love YOU!!! You're so elegant, intelligent, classy and stunning as a professional and as a woman. Anything you teach always screams a combination of all that. Plus, you're an awesome teacher. (I'm a teacher.)
Hi Lisa! I absolutely love and look forward to your videos. I would love to see a video about appropriate makeup for photography. Your favorite products and maybe some tips. Thanks!
I'm no makeup artist, but I started using the urban decay one and wow!!! that really helps the makeup. Thank u so much, Lisa! Wonderful tutorial. I live in a very hot and humid climate and an always looking for ways to help my make up last. These r all great tips and r very much appreciated!
OH my gosh I love your blue nail polish! Thanks for the great tips for helping keep my makeup on longer. Nothing worse than having to redo my makeup during the day!
Lisa, your videos are very informative and inspiring, thank you for the time and energy you put into them. Please consider doing a tutorial for eye makeup for ages 45+ and for wearing glasses.
you look beautiful! thank you for always posting relevant/helpful/on trend/etc., videos! you're an inspiration and have made my make-up adventures a lot less daunting and intimidating!
yes! I would love to see a video about this as well! My breakouts went crazy the week I had final examinations. My breakouts have healed fairly well, but I still have loads of dark spots left. I hope yours recover soon, too!
Very useful video - love it! I really like Shiseido's water resistant liquid foundation for hot weather. The only bad thing is the limited color range. The colors will adjust to a certain extent to your skin tone, but there are no really darker shades.
so true about the water proof mascaras! I also find that a lot of japanese brands produce really good curl- holding water proof mascaras for really humid asian climate!
I've started using your methods for my daily make up... and I love it... I'm 35... I don't need the "instagram" look... She's the best! Her tips show how educated and learned she is. Keep your videos coming. You're the Picasso of this century.

Im very flattered and honoured you think so, I'm definitely blushing right now. You are so sweet thank you X
It’s hot in #NYC - time for some heatproof makeup X www.lisaeldridge.com/video/25786/summer-in-the-city-heat-proof-makeup-tutorial/
Love it!
Lisa Eldridge Love the sultry eyes! Gorgeous :)
I've been marathoning your videos and the sound of your rings clicking together are so calming for some reason...weird
Yees omg it really is!! I thought I'm the only one 😂😂
omg yesss i always watch her videos when i want to fall asleep, she just has this aura that relaxes me and calms me down so much
+Andrea Brassard you may have ASMR.
Makes me think of a mom or grandma for some reason it's weirdly comforting 😂😂
+Anna Banana Now that you've mentioned it I can remember my grandma. She always had two to three bangles on. The sound of it is kinda relaxing
The green and yellow rings you wear are so pretty! I notice them every video. as woman nearing 50 I very much appreciate the fresh, pretty, natural makeup techniques you provide
Do you have an updated version of this? I would love to see another video xx
Lisa has completely changed the way I do my make up, and in turn, has changed my lifestyle. I can't even express how much I love this woman.
I would love a version of this video for extremely cold weather. I know you did a blog post about skincare at some point, but I feel there are special challenges involved in wearing makeup when it's -20C. Mascara freezes and leaks, skin gets dry and red, etc.
Yes please, I second this request. And also with space heatgeers running all winter my skin gets so dry.
i live in california and mascara freezing never even occurred to me. Oh my god that's crazy
This Texas girl was desperately in need of this video.

Laura, we've missed you!!! Don't be such a stranger, your work and the gentle way you speak is much needed in today's busy fast paced world
I would choose you and Wayne Goss a million times over Nikkitutorials or James Charles...
Ever time, I mean every, I appreciate how she doesn't smile when applying a blush. Thank you Lisa for all the amazing videos!

Miss Maxi-Bear What foundation was it? The one Lisa used?
Miss Maxi-Bear I am looking for a good working foundation for oily skin. What foundation are you using MMB? :)
As a subscriber from Singapore where it's hot and humid all year round, this video is a godsend. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
thin layers well blended... stuck in my head.
I appreciate all of these tips. You are by far one of my favorite makeup artists on youtube. You have a passion for makeup and its very obvious. However, you still seem to remain humble after all of the success. Thanks, for taking the time out to share your gift.
Hi Lisa, just came across you. Great video - exactly what we need in this UK weather at the moment. Thanks :)

How about Double Wear Light or Double Wear Nude?
Love how you effortlessly apply your products just using your finger tips. And those rings! Beautiful.
This maybelline cream eyeshadow is not really longlasting.. not for problematic eyelid.
Lisa, I can't tell you this enough, but I LOVE your tutorials where you do the makeup on yourself because of the way you talk at the camera. Great makeup as always!
"its a recipe for disaster" 😂😂😂😂😂
I love how all of your videos contain tons of tips (especially ones like this one, the first date one, the "no make-up" one, etc). I learn so many things that I can apply to many looks, not just those demonstrated. :)
I just discovered the down arrow! Hey! I'm 71 and so not a techie!
Apply in a really thin layer and blend to thin out even more X
So... To create a heatproof makeup, just buy the most expensive waterproof products and put them like you normally do with your daily makeup!! ;-)
Marco Menichini there are cheaper brands that do long lasting products
...So today, i finally bought the product i didn`t have for this, and applied the way you teach us here Lisa, the results are SO GOOD!!! Already got compliments! That eye shadow and lip colours are such great combo! Brilliant!
such a beautiful nail color, Lisa's has got such beautiful artistic hands, every nail paint color suits her so well.
I love your videos, Lisa. You don't always use really expensive makeup brands, even you give us some cheaper alternative products. Thanks Lisa xo
I love your videos so much, Lisa! Always look forward to them and you give such great tips! Don't ever stop making videos, you're one of the very few actually talented makeup artists on UA-cam. Your makeup like any of those other makeup artists, your makeup is always so natural and flawless! x

Lisa you are the queen of stunnicity! (stunning simplicity) ;-)
simple or complicated, no matter... everything you create is stunning, so classy. thank you Lisa ^^
I've loved your vids for a long time and you've helped me soooo much when it comes to makeup. I like that you don't just copy celeb makeup, but do real looks for real people. This tutorial couldn't have come at a better time as it's getting so hot here in England and I've been sweating like crazy!

Ovet 30 degrees in the uk and ireland for weeks... u picked the best time to do this vid ! Love it
Beautiful make-up Lisa! Love your hair and hair colour in this video too!
I can't tell you how happy I get when I see that you have a new video up
I really needed this tutorial. Living in the humid southern part of the U.S. really takes a toll on my look and everything wants to either bleed, smudge, or run. Thank you Lisa!
Thanks Lisa, here in Northland NZ the humidity plays havoc with makeup. This tutorial is right up my street, I love your tutorials xxxxxx
Next I'm going to try khaki-coloured liner!
i love your make ups :) because of you i realized that "less is more" in make up - to put thin layers of make up to look naturally pretty
Beautiful!
Lisa your work is amazing. I love how i'm able to actually SEE the textures of the products
AMAZING timing lisa, this is the video every girl needs to see for summer!
The aqua line in MUFE is amazing too. Not to mention the MUFE eye seal which can be used alone as a top coat over makeup or mixed with pigments.
I'm so excited you used EL double wear light because that's what I use. LADIES, she speaks the truth. this is super long lasting. I wore this to a dinner, a movie, watching the sunrise at the beach and back home and this foundation did not move!
This is an incredibly helpful tutorial. It's been so hot & humid here for much too long. This is not the time I want a dewy look.
Lovely! I like how You can do your base in a couple of strokes and look perfect!
I appreciate how you approach everything in a gentle way.
Thanks always...Michelle from MO USA
Your stunning Lisa! I love how you apply the makeup so effortlessly and gently, and your voice is so calming, big fan! x
It is just impossible to not love your videos, Lisa! Thank you!
I love the look. The colorful look is great for summer and your eyes look beautiful.
I love YOU!!! You're so elegant, intelligent, classy and stunning as a professional and as a woman. Anything you teach always screams a combination of all that. Plus, you're an awesome teacher. (I'm a teacher.)
You are so gorgeous! With or without make up. Thank you so much for your videos, you have thought me so much.
Your eyes are incredible in this look, I can't believe you've only used one colour! Great work, as always :) Good to have you back!
Hi Lisa! I absolutely love and look forward to your videos. I would love to see a video about appropriate makeup for photography. Your favorite products and maybe some tips. Thanks!
Oh, yes! Any advice to heal the skin would be very welcome Lisa. Loved the video, as always x
I'm no makeup artist, but I started using the urban decay one and wow!!! that really helps the makeup. Before applying the spray I also use the porefesional by benefit and those two really help my makeup. Now my makeup doesn't get all smudgy and weird. I even sweat and nothing, the makeup doesn't budge! I have been doing this for a while now, and like you, I haven't had any problems with my skin. Let's see if she answers your comment, because I'm curious to know what she thinks too.
Thank u so much, Lisa! Wonderful tutorial. I live in a very hot and humid climate and an always looking for ways to help my make up last. These r all great tips and r very much appreciated!
I really love your nail color
OH my gosh I love your blue nail polish! Thanks for the great tips for helping keep my makeup on longer. Nothing worse than having to redo my makeup during the day!
Lisa, your videos are very informative and inspiring, thank you for the time and energy you put into them. Please consider doing a tutorial for eye makeup for ages 45+ and for wearing glasses.
I love you, you reminded me that I don't need a lot of makeup to make a difference.
Lisa, you are the best. Generous, talented, real & beautiful. Thank you for sharing all of the tips & tricks you've learned throughout the years. :)
you look beautiful! thank you for always posting relevant/helpful/on trend/etc., videos! you're an inspiration and have made my make-up adventures a lot less daunting and intimidating!
These videos are a godsend! I just discovered your channel this week, and I'm already a huge fan!
Thanks for the vid, Lisa! I live in Philippines and its always hot and humid here. Will try the look when I go back to work next week.
Lovely. I live in a hot humid climate. Thanks so much for this tutorial.
yes! I would love to see a video about this as well! My breakouts went crazy the week I had final examinations. My breakouts have healed fairly well, but I still have loads of dark spots left. I hope yours recover soon, too!
Every video of yours that I've watched is always extremely helpful. I'm always learning something new! Thank you Lisa!
I love this look! So beautiful! And I get really oily in the summer, so I will definitely be using this.
Very useful video - love it! I really like Shiseido's water resistant liquid foundation for hot weather. The only bad thing is the limited color range. The colors will adjust to a certain extent to your skin tone, but there are no really darker shades.
Wow, what a really beautiful look..you look stunning Lisa
so true about the water proof mascaras! I also find that a lot of japanese brands produce really good curl- holding water proof mascaras for really humid asian climate!
I love the Double Wear Light! It's been my go-to for summers
