I gave snack size skittle packs to "my kids" today for excellent behavior! Im a bus driver so they not my kids but i give rewards from party city or amazon too. Keychains, colorful pencils and pens, cool erasers, and also cards with corny jokes on them so they can smile. When kids are bad they need punishment so I do scold them, write them up and change seating arrangements to maintain order. But really, I love giving rewards for good behavior and see the bad behavior go away with time. Otherwise they trash and vandalize the bus and wont listen to or respect me. In an emergency I need control so this teaches them to look to me as authority. Im ex military so i am strict lol

I love that your kid ran in to tattle. I can actually relate to you more than any other UA-cam parenting advice.

Lol! I don't even remember that part of this video, I wonder which kid it was. I had some deep revelation about tattling the other day, should have written it down because of course now I don't remember it. 😅 oh the tattling. 🤪 Glad that my normal mom status shows through in these videos! 😊

Clear sheet protectors work well instead of laminating too.

Yes! Thank you for commenting that! I forgot, and also forgot to say I use sticky tac for the little pictures on the blue poster system and then I like hanging things on the wall with painters tape so it doesn't ruin the walls. 😊

Would this chore chart work with special needs adults in a group home setting ?

Absolutely! Hope it's a success! Mine are older now and most of them read and I've found that when I even just print out a schedule or flow for the day they are so much more willing to follow!

Could you do a video very similar to this but focused on toddlers?? Maybe more detail if you're able? Loved this!

I try this "fliping checklist" idea for my toddlers. Toddlers are more hands on and do better with the motion of moving the checklists. I also tried sticker charts. Another thing I have seen works well with toddlers, is helping them live a bit more minimally (like tips from the minimal mom youtube channel). When there are less things to put away, less handwriting papers to practice, less clothes to keep track of, it's easier for my toddlers to keep up with taking care of their responsibilites. Also keeping tasks simple and with basic instructions. Too much to do can be hard for them to keep track of and me to follow through with.
These are called flipping checklists. I saw it posted on Parenting Picture blog

That is so cool! Thanks so much for sharing Rebecca! :) Sorry this video was not more detailed kenz B. I was having camera issues where it kept shutting off and not recording so I re-recorded so many times I lost track of what I had said and not said and then things I thought I got on film (how I use sticky tac for the pictures on the big blue chart) where not there when I went to edit. But all of Rebecca's advice was great! I love what you said Rebecca about living minimally. We are working on that right now, in fact I just boxed up most of the kids toys and put them in the garage last night! We are starting a toy rotation and so far today the house has been WAY more clean than usual because of everything you mentioned. LOL So funny that you commented all that and then it was what I just did. I love when the Lord confirms things like that for me! Thank you! Hope you both have a great day! 😊

You moved! How exciting! these are great ideas. I have tried the "flipping checklists" idea for young toddlers. From Parenting picture blog. content://media/external/file/84655
I loved some of your ideas, Dawn (Dawn Marie?). I'll have to try them. I laminate everything with clear packing tape! It's so convenient and right on hand!

Haha I love that you use clear packing tape as well!! It gets the job done! Either is fine Dawn or Dawn Marie :) Thanks for the other suggestions I think maybe since I am doing chore packs with the older two maybe ill try the flipping checklists for the younger ones.
