I live in Canada and our potatoes come with the dirt on them, I personally like it. I feel like it preserves the potato longer or something. Plus I enjoy cleaning them off myself, you really should clean all your veggies before cooking with them anyway.
It does keep them fresh for longer. Unwashed potatoes used to be stored in underground storages (not basement, more like all earth outside shed) for up to 3 winters and remained fresh!!! You can keep them like that now too, as long as they don't get washed. Also not washing potatoes before selling them reduces carbon imprint on production and lowers the costs of production. And since you have to and would wash your potatoes before cooking them anyway why wash them multiple times?
@@m.w.5972 That’s interesting. I honestly never knew that. It explains why they are cheaper since they don’t have to do the extra step of washing them. I don’t mind if they have the dirt. In some ways yes but for the most part things are getting worse. The internet is a prime example of that - the internet is now a MASSIVE part of everyone’s lives. Sadly, it has opened up opportunities for predators that weren’t there before. To truly indulge in content and easily approach victims. It also is making the predator situation go up. More and more people are searching for the next hardcore thing, they see it and want something more hardcore… they aren’t satisfied quickly and move on to something worse… Some end up on the worst type of things if you know what I mean, animals & children etc. It’s disgusting yes and although these things have always happened, it’s nothing like it is today. People that would never have been exposed to this stuff, now can in moments. Even children themselves are now often left free to spend time on the internet and look at god knows what and involuntarily set themselves up for future predilections towards minors because of things being imprinted on to them at a young age. The internet is quite literally fuelling the darker side of humanity and that is just one example of how the internet is affecting society negatively.

Pro tip, if you make the Velveeta cheese dip in a slow cooker, fill the cooker with water and put the dip in a glass or metal bowl in a double-boiler fashion. It won't burn, and the bowl is usually easier to clean than the slow cooker, especially if it doesn't have a removable crock.

As a Dane I totally understood Pewd's "potato shell". I actually didn't know that they called it a "shell" in Sweden. But in Denmark we call it a "skræl" (a peel) which is pretty similar. And I hate to admit that I was quite old before I was taught that that wasn't actually what they are called.

Regarding the dirt on the potatoes, my mom works in produce shipping, and she's told me that there have been studies on products where they were all washed and cleaned, and people were less likely to trust the product, and prefer the ones with dirt still on them. They clean the potatoes to be shipped out, pick out the best looking ones, then put on another layer of dirt before bagging it up.

Cats are hunters - if they see a bug they go for it. My lazy ass cat became a cold blooded killer when a katydid got inside. So, yeah. If there’s a moth, fly, or any other flying bug they’ll get it.
If you have pets like cats that sometimes like to play with the toilet paper roll, placing the roll backwards keeps it from unraveling all over the bathroom.
in sweden i'd say close to 100% of all bathrooms i've been to have toilet paper holders with a little "roof" thingy that slightly clamps down on the roll to prevent it from unraveling and helps keep it in place when you tear it, is this not a thing in other places? when i see those holders that is just a rod going through the roll it looks like you'd always get way too much paper unless you use both hands to tear it haha
Put a can size lid inverted with water on top of your toilet roll (You need to make sure it’s out of sight from your cat’s angle). Your cat will do it once, spills the water, have the loud crackling sound of the lid crashing onto the floor and will never do it again.
12:44 I can confirm. I used to have a cat and every time I saw a roach I would show her where the roach was and she would hunt them. Same with flies and other annoying bugs. The downside? Even if you do want it also it's good to remember that everyone play this game of life in their own way, in their own pace with only 1 life, so it's good to live it the way *you* want to live it and don't compare to how others do it
@@DenDarEmi That's a good way to look at it.
Unfortunately for me I would like that kind of life, wife, kid.. I suppose kids but really one is ideal. I wanted to do it while I was still young too, so I could have that energy to keep up with them and play with them and all of that. Be around for as much of their life as I could so they always knew, worst case scenario, I'm here.
I'm not old but I think I failed. I have a brain tumor anyway.. for the best really, less folks to leave behind.

I do wash them regardless but it does take longer and I always use a potato brush when I buy them with the dirt on them. I just wash them under water if they don’t have dirt on them. It does kinda suck when you have to wash a lot at the same time.
Ireland we have dirty potatoes too. We are land of the perfect potato too.
They come that way in Sweden too. Felix has just been away for too long that he forgot lmao.
Mostly the same with market-bought potatoes here in the Philippines too (grocery-bought is a different story ofc)
Ken and pewds collabs are always great
Pewdiepie's reaction to that cursed American dip made of plastic cheese and unidentified tinned meat was pretty representative of what every non-american in the audience was thinking
That can was actually chopped tomatoes that are seasoned. If there was meat in that can, it would be even more gross
@@Ericartmanschili You're right, I was looking at the second picture at 20:30 which looks like it's just got spam in it or something
@@trolley01 Thats the chopped tomatoes mixed in with the cheese.
As an American I am also fairly grossed out by that I do not consume slouch concoctions of terror
Velveeta is American cheese which is a blend of colby, swiss and cheddar. Rotel isn't "tinned meat", it's tomahtoes, peppers and Mexican spices.
The plastic you are thinking of the from hydrogenating vegetable oils and creating fake cholesterol.
Ken: "Remember ad revenue back then?"
Pewds: War flash backs

ok in felix defence, in sweden we say "potatis skal" witch literally translates to "potato shell".. we dont use the word skin for non meat related things! lol

Wow that is very interesting.
17:50 I 100% agree with Ken on this take. Things aren’t getting worse, more things are being exposed. There’s a difference lmao.
Its still getting worse, through the internet there are so many more oppurtunities for bad things to happen than it was before.
planned obsolescence is a thing tho, things are getting worse.
its kinda a crap shoot, while some things are objectively better there are certainly things that are way worse as well
In some ways yes but for the most part things are getting worse. The internet is a prime example of that - the internet is now a MASSIVE part of everyone’s lives.
Sadly, it has opened up opportunities for predators that weren’t there before. To truly indulge in content and easily approach victims.
It also is making the predator situation go up.
More and more people are searching for the next hardcore thing, they see it and want something more hardcore… they aren’t satisfied quickly and move on to something worse…
Some end up on the worst type of things if you know what I mean, animals & children etc.
My grandpa was a handy man who could fix just about anything and actually had an engineering degree. He always called his projects Swedish Engineering, since he was half Swedish. :)
im a man
I too have a grandpa who was a handy man and very kind, but he had a stroke and survived but his stroke turned him into a over religious zealot and he started to hate us for some reason. Felix talking taking pictures of his parking is something I can totally understand. I do the same thing and look back at the photo just mesmerized
In France there are these awesome crisps called crok sel and they’re in a bag which is inside a box so the bag is full and the box protects it. Kinda like cereal, the future of crisps is cereal boxes

The violent fate of product boxes in America has something to say about that.
Love all these collabs. A Ken, Buff, Felix and Sean all at once would be the ultimate.
As someone who grew up in the northeast, Kens version of America never ceases to amaze me
You mean every foreigner’s version of America? Cause Ken’s version is the one worldwide pretty much lol
As someone who is also from New England I can concur that his version is a WHOLE different beast then my own
As someone also from the southeast, I can confirm that his version is accurate AF
Honestly i also live in the northeast and alot of this stuff i see here too, so idk. Maybe its because theres a difference between city/rural small towns and small citys in different regions.

worst/best part: my cousin put it down, told the guy that he's not working on it since it's already a death trap because whoever put those two cars together did a crappy job and he has no idea how the two halves eve stay together

Felix with the hinge story is basically the real life/muggle version of Harry Potter with his Half Blood Prince book
The reason there's so much "air" in the bags, is because it's Nitrogen they put in there. If they pumped Oxygen into the bags, the oxygen would oxidize the chips. Nitrogen keeps them fresh!

Also, in transit the chips settle/nestle.
Really interesting how things are so different in the north and south of Sweden. Felix said that people having broken cars parked on their property is not very common, but up here a big majority of everyone I know has broken cars, vehicles, motors etc on their property and you can see that almost everywhere you go here. My friend and my grandparent's neighbour both have multiple spare parts and vehicles of different sorts everywhere for example and it feels very homey in ways:)

These videos humanize you both. So relatable and wholesome. Love it!
Maybe just don’t eat it, next time you get the chance, hold a flame to some of your plastic cheese squares/slices and watch absolutely nothing happen, thats not normal...
If you make velveeta cheese dip, you have other things to worry about.
@@masonlittle2089 That's a myth that's been debunked. Specifically by Ann Reardon on How To Cook That.
@@sarahcoletti6946 it’s still plastic cheese, do the test I’ve mentioned and be happy eating it. nothing I have ever come across had done absolutely nothing in means or a reaction to a flame, if you wanna eat it knowing that it can’t be burnt, doesn’t melt, doesn’t droop, stretch, bubble, brown or react in any way that’s fine I just know there’s no way I’m eating it. and if you let it cool it forms on top like off milk then you do you, enjoy your fake cheese, no matter your poimts you can’t argue that it’s real cheese, it’s a “by product of cheese” sure it’s made from cheese but it’s not cheese.

As a Dane I totally understood Pewd's "potato shell". I actually didn't know that they called it a "shell" in Sweden. But in Denmark we call it a "skræl" (a peel) which is pretty similar.
For some reason both me and my twin sister used to call pillowcases "pudeskræl" (pillow peels).

My family got a chainsaw over 20 years ago and it's still working, despite being pretty heavily used.

I like to think that the world isn't inherently all that bad. It's just that with how connected the world is nowadays we get get more exposed to the bad stuff more often, which is unfortunately what usually stands out for whatever reason.

@@Idaastrand same here in Finland
Put a can size lid inverted with water on top of your toilet roll (You need to make sure it’s out of sight from your cat’s angle). Your cat will do it once, spills the water, have the loud crackling sound of the lid crashing onto the floor and will never do it again.
This is literally just them talking about random things but it's just as good as all the other videos lol
12:44 I can confirm. I used to have a cat and every time I saw a roach I would show her where the roach was and she would hunt them. Same with flies and other annoying bugs. The downside?
