Your directions were excellent! I have made the dish in the past, but it didn't taste like the restaurant's dish. I never added ginger, tomatoes, and turmeric. You make it seem so simple. I will subscribe. Long Beach, California
Thank you for sharing recipe. I have been looking for recipes that use yellow split peas. It looks delicious, will definitely make.
Genius cooking, if you ask me. I loved the directions and how she left that beautiful white pulp on the pepper. I love that, it kinda' tones down the pepper and has great flavor absorbed with the spices and all the ingredients. I just loved this video and the recipe. Well done, just great. Making this tomorrow.
Never had split peas before, just followed your recipe to some someone gave me, amazing! Thanks!

Is yellow split peas and chana dal same? Can we make chana dal halwa
Sorry but is are the lentils initially boiled for 30 minutes? I wasnt able to catch it. Thank you in advance.
These are actually yellow split-peas not lentils, haha. Lentils are very tiny in comparison. And no, she cooked them for about 10-15mins initially, then again for about 5-10mins after adding all the ingredients together. =)

can I add red bell pepper
Why when I cook yellow split peas I see roots coming out? Should I continue with cooking or throw
em away?
Un_Amor_Perfecto , maybe you want to make sure you buy the split peas which does not have roots, meaning fresh and clean. I think you don't have to throw them away.
It's a natural process called sprouting. It's safe to eat and are actually more nutritious that way. Same would happen with chickpeas or lentils if you leave them in water long enough.
@@nassiraaustin6724
How u make the sprouting plz.🌷?
@@bebeyuku377 Simply by soaking them in water long enough. There are plenty of videos about sprouting on UA-cam :)
Does anyone know how long she boiled the peas?
I think she said 10-15 minutes.
Back of the bag has cooking time
Can you add chicken to this dish if you wanted?
Why when I cook yellow split peas I see roots coming out?
Should I continue with cooking em or toss em away?
Maria Bastos, No, we don't usually add chicken to this dish.
There is no "right way" of eating any dish... you can experiment and see what you like
Is this pepper hot
Jalapeños are hot, but milder compared to habaneros.
I suppose if you take the seeds out they're not as spicy. Rinse them too.
Waaaaaay overexposed!
