I've always thought drummers are some of the most talented musicians. Definitely the most talented in bands. The coordination one needs to maintain a beat/rythym with all 4 limbs is fucking 🤯
The guy is a genius
It has been by many drummers out there such as Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang, Trey Harding and many more.
You don’t think about each limb separately. You think about it all as one action; kind of like driving a car. You think about what needs to be done, and your years of muscle memory produce the desired action. Each thing a drummer (or any musician) does is based of a catalogue of patterns (scales, rudiments, etc.) that they initially practiced slowly to the point it’s burned into their brain.

My young son admires you so much! He was learning the piano as well but asked to quit because he wanted to focus on the drums. @@renementen8828Duly noted! Thank you! My son definitely grips the drumsticks with too much tension. Hoping he’ll loosen up after he practices more and is more confident with himself.
Put some music he likes playing. Tell him to try and copy the rhythm and speed. Play songs with different rhythms and speed. Then it's just practice and more practice. El Estepario practices at least 8 hours per day.

@@paulocarvalho6480Thank you! Definitely agree with you about practicing. Fostering the discipline to do so! Appreciate your tip on having him play his fave songs. He’s on the Alfred’s Kid’s Drumset Course and that is super fun for him too. He has school so not sure about 8 hours of practice 😅 but maybe he will when he’s older. If this is his passion, he will make time to practice - no matter how busy life gets. Just like El Estepario Siberiano 🤘
How about starting by finding him a reputable drum instructor in your area?
As a guitarist I've watched and been impressed by many drummers. What I think separates El Esteparios is his feet. Whilst it's obvious he's a hybrid octopus and all that, I think it's the sheer power and precision of his feet that are something that no one else can do, not portnoy, Carey, lang, krupa, rich, none if them can do that as well as bash out single double triple quadruple rolls all at over 150bpm and all with such precision. Bonkers.

Amazing talent! There is a lot of left brain, right brain processing happening. I'd love to see an EEG, fMRI or MRE study of this guy while playing something like this. He is utilizing so many different parts of his brain to listen, analyze, implement and process with this four pedal technique. Brilliant!

This man never ceases to amaze me
"Si, senor!" I have to recognize that this surpasses Blinding Lights. Definitely drummers can appreciate this performance way better than us, normal humans. Having said that, the level of concentration that left foot required is evident this time. And, as always, when EES has passed the sound barrier and is in the home stretch he dives into the zone and that's when he can finally close his eyes or smile all around because no brain cells are required, just muscle memory. Unbelievably awesome!!! 🙏👏
I'm not a drummer, so I can't appreciate fully (from a technical perspective), but dang, the work that you've put into being able to perform like this is nuts in the best possible way! Artistry at the highest levels! Thanks for sharing with us!

HOLY SHIT. This left me absolutely speechless and I'm struggling to find the words to type. This was honestly so mind blowing. I've been a drummer 21 years & I thought I was pretty good until I found El Estepario. This guy has humbled me to the max.
I'm a guitarist and I've been playing around twenty years. I'm not too bad, I tend to really impress people who see me play and stuff, but then I am humbled to my absolute core by this absolute machine named Rick Graham, ahaha.
Although that humbling comes with tons of motivation, but still, some people seem to be from a completely different planet.
