@@user-lt1zz3zi4m Lol.. He's not wrong. Top tier defensive player would've tried to guard Kd especially when he's the only star left on the opponent team. Giannis let Tucker to guard him even on the last possession that would've cost his team a series against an injury-depleted Nets team. Glad that the Lady Luck was upon him that night that Kd happened not to hit a 3 or else it would be a downright embarrassment for Giannis to lose that series.

If you switched teams and gave Gianni’s a healthy harden and Kyrie he would’ve won as well. Also Giannis didn’t want to tire out offensively, that’s why he didn’t guard Kd. This worked obviously because he dropped 40 points in a game 7

Hall of Fame, 10 time all-star and all NBA, 8 time all-defense, won ROY, DPOY and MVP once, 2-time champion. Before his injury he averaged 26/12/3 with 4 blocks. His difference maker for me though is that he has a rebounding, blocking, and scoring title (which he put up 71 in a game to earn), each one once. He is one of just three players in the entirety of NBA history to have gotten all three, his elite company being Kareem and Wilt.

One title and 2 MVPs by age 30. Hmmmm. Why don't we check in with Kareem, magic, larry, Jordan, Tim duncan, Moses Malone, I can keep going all day if you'd like. I think there might be a little bit of a recency bias here on this. I am not at all denying the greatness of giannis. I think he is absolutely phenomenal. However I think we're over hyping him a tiny bit and forgetting our NBA history. I think by the time all is said and done, there's a good chance that he'll be in the top 10 of all time. But as it stands right now, one title and two MVPs, defensive player of the year, by age 28 or 29, isn't enough to make him stand out from the rest of that crowd. But at the same time it puts him in some absolutely incredible company. But I don't think we should be gobsmacked at what he's accomplished when tons of other players have done it before him.

I know we live in the age where children like you have forgotten how to answer telephones and be polite and use grammar and functional life skills like that, you should try it sometime, it will make everything a lot better and a lot easier.
You missed some pretty simple things, that were right there in front of you so you obviously just skipped over them or haven't learned how to read yet: "by age 28 or 29"....."before age 30". These are THINGS THAT ARE TRUE, Alex, for $400.
You asked me to name people, even though I already had. And will again, check in with Bill russell, check in with Tim duncan, check in with kareem, check in with magic, check in with Larry, and yes the dpoy wasn't even a thing when some of these guys were doing it and certainly Larry Bird wasn't the best defensive player in the league, but having won MULTIPLE championships, MVPs, rookie of the Year, finals MVP etc, by the same age is pretty damn close, just because he's got one other award doesn't mean that he's suddenly lapped the field. You have the balls to call me a casual when you can't remember that guys in your own generation, have done this much less the old guys. Go look up Oscar Robertson. So yeah he doesn't have the finals MVP or the championship because he was on a horrific Cincinnati team, but he was averaging a triple double, destroying record books, winning MVPs etc. You won't find an NBA historian that thinks that Oscar isn't on at least the same plane if not above giannis. I'm sorry if I ruffled your feathers, and I'm definitely sorry you took your mouth off his nuts long enough to come down from the high horse that you have no discernible reason to reside on. Just because I pointed out things that are factually true, doesn't mean that you should ignore all reading and reading comprehension and miss the point where I acknowledge his greatness. I'm not bad-mouthing him at all, I'm just pointing out that the original post use a ton of hyperbole went over hyping the guy. If you want to know who played against tough opponents during the finals, well using that pyramid system, and awarding points in reverse order, Five points for tier one, four for two, three for three, two for four, and one for five and by adding the player total by the amount of finals series they faced player you are tallying. Well, it goes something like this, Jordan 11 (note I demoted Magic to a 5 during that series being that he was older, without Kareem and just coming back for HIV), giving him 8 for Malone (4 two times for facing him twice in the finals), Stockton gets a 2. Barkley adds another 1 for a tally of 11.
Kobe gets a 2 for Garmet but that's all, this is mostly because teams like the Pacers, Nets and 76's did not have much talent.
Next we have LeBron James who gets, 9 from Durant, 12 from Curry, Duncan adds 9, Dirk 2, Kewhi adds another 2, for the tally of 34.
    So its
    Kobe: 2
    Jordan: 11
    LeBron: 34

This is comparable to many players on the tier above. He was one Ray Allen shot away from being top three all time. In my opinion he has already surpassed Kobe, Bird, and Bill on the all time ranking. The difference between them isn't that noticeable though.
Some people put him down though because he doesn't 'look' dominant or he had too much help. All great players need All-star help, look at anyone in the top 12 they all needed good teammates. Some players have brought bad teams to the playoffs but not many have won championships like that.

I think Steph is Mount Rushmore. I think he changed the game so much that stats (and analysts) can't keep track. His off ball movement and gravity is so great that he should basically get assist without touching the ball. Just look at the game where defender is leaving Durant a clear path to the basket just to guard Steph on the 3 point line. Sounds insane for any player except Steph and you will find it nowhere in the stat sheet. I think he was better player than Durant in the years they played together and the things like this cost him a few finals MVPs and at least 1 regular season MVP.

I think the problem with Harden not being on the list at all, is that if he wins a single Finals MVP and a single championship, he can't be any lower than Tier 3. I think you weigh championships too much when ranking players, and the context with not just Harden, but other All-Time greats just not quite getting there needs to be looked at at a more case-by-case basis.

Same man, Harden is at least tier 5. I feel like his argument with him not making it was unfair. He still has Charles Barkley on the list despite him not having much playoff success either. Barkley’s numbers didn’t dip as much as Harden’s in the Playoffs but the the things Harden did in his peak are still worthy of matching Barkley’s spot on the pyramid

The thing is in a side by side comparison to the two on paper, James Harden falls a little short. Not a lot, just a little. James harden only falls short due to his performance in the post-season tbh. If Harden could've played longer, and be a consistent shooter, rather than trying to rely on drawing a foul to make a bucket, would've easily placed him Tier 3 no doubt. I'm not saying he isn't consistent when he takes good shots, but he would usually try to draw a foul to get to the line. It is just that little bit, which was why he had not made it to the pyramid (I think lol). A little longer and I believe he'll replace Barkley as long as he's healthy and building for a better post-season.
