You're one of the only sources I've found that doesn't say the frydek and green velvet are the same. Everyone else says they are the same name for the same plant but I know that green velvet is the non variegated, and frydek is the variegated.
Mine has recently started getting some dots (almost looks like discoloration) on the leaves, with two oldest leaves yellowed and drooping. Any suggestions? ):
It's hard to diagnose exactly but generally leaf spots and yellowing leave is due to over watering, you want to water only when the soil is almost dry and have the plant in a well draining soil so it's not to wet to long, other than that it might be not getting enough light and therefore can't sustain as many leaves.
I got my green velvet today but the leaf that the new one comes from has been snapped off so it just has 2 old leafs can a new leaf grow out of old ones?
@veronicacarvajal4138 need oil can be harmful in high concentration to certain plants I've found some plants with thinner leaves especially velvety leaves are more sensitive to it, I use white oil as my pest treatment instead it's a petroleum jelly spray it's pretty safe majority of plants.
