Coming soon. Ian missed us so we’re all good in that regard. The transmission repair has been a disaster with multiple mechanics stealing my money and breaking the boat further.
I have footage of some of this but decided not to call these guys out in my videos.
As of last night I made another payment that should have the boat on its way towards final reassembly.
Needs starter, heat exchanger, shaft seal and engine/trans alignment and then she should be back on the water. I’m hoping a few weeks from now.

Of course my luck I find you with episode 6. I will look for the others. You brought back incredible memories. Your boat looks like a 79 to an 81 I'm guessing. When I was 26 I bought a 1979 flybridge Cruiser just like your boat. This was in 19 85.boat on the great lakes or did then. And it was used as a small Charter. It was very rough for its age.
I negotiated with the guy on the front seat of his F-150 a cashier's check and some cash. I paid $26500 which was 50 cents on the dollar back then.
I spent $4,000 doing some paint work put on a swim platform and made it look like new. I have owned five bertrams. By far this was my favorite boat. Like you were experiencing in the video that boat can easily come out of the water if you're cruising and that you're in big waves and you watch the tachs bury and then jump back down again.
I absolutely love it and got to rush out of it. I had it for a summer and a half almost doubled my money. And it still needed all new canvas. Didn't have the lower station like you have. The two twin 228s powered that boat quite well never did anything mechanically. I put new hour meters in it. I can say that now. It was a low hour boat. never fished
Then I had a 33 fly Bridge Cruiser and I can remember coming across Lake Erie with four or five other boats that were much bigger than me like a 50 ft Sea Ray and rough Seas. They had to go slow because they were beating themselves up. It was so rough my antenna broke for my radio. I could go at full cruising speed and Barrel through lots of white water. As I saying with my broken antenna to my friends The Ballad of Gilligan's Island. Then a 30 moppy which is a rare newer Bertram. Than a 46 Motor Yacht and then a 50. There is nothing better than a Bertram even though they're old school. In my opinion the bertrams that are now being produced are good quality boats. I can't say that in my opinion when Ferretti owed them.

Thanks for sharing! You nailed it, she’s a 1979.
Glad you enjoyed the video and really cool to hear the old Bertram stories. They really are great boats!
