I've seen a set piece that wasn't on this video. Found on DS ROG, it was a small square of wood walls, with one side open, and inside was an alchemy engine, a tent, an icebox, and a thermal measurer. It is certainly the best I've ever seen
For Wicker: Reed trap For Webber: Queen's gathering For every other char except Wurt: Dev graveyard because you can turn it into an automatic werepig farm and get 100 meat and 50 pig skin every full moon. The yield ofc varies it just depends how many pig houses you wish to build around it. The design is the same as any pig farm except on a full moon the ghosts kill them all for you so long as you're near it.
Wait isn't the trap setpiece with the rotting effect benefical? I mean if you pick up a lot of flowers you can quickly turn them into rot with that setpiece and have fertilaizer for day
Actually the tiny fortress with wool, a chest, wooden walls and grass, you can actually just hammer the walls around the chest and you'll be fine, I've done that the entire time, I figured it out myself years ago :3
I'm surprised you didn't mention the ring of spider nests. I've been playing DST for quite a while and I only found it once. It's one of the best presets to use as webber and/or to gain resources rather quickly using traps. Or you could build a massive spider army and take down your enemies :-)
A near second for best in my opinion is the queens gathering( a bunch of lv 3 spider nests clustered together). As most character, this can be a spider farm with bunnymen and pigs, or in Wickers case Tentacles. However, if you play Webber it’s a godsend and a perfect place for a base. You can lure the giants there to kill them with the possible hundreds of spiders that you can get if you place more nests, be protected from possible hound attacks(though this is if you get them to attack the spiders first) and you can amass a large army of spiders to take with you wherever you go, so long as you have enough monster meat( though with traps you can farm the spiders themselves as they leave their nests without setting off a chain reaction of spiders, spider warriors, and possibly spider queens attacking you)
I remember the winter trap used to be in DST, because I thought you could escape its effects by hammering the chest instead of opening it. My friend was not happy
My favorite set piece is queen’s gathering as Webber. If youre a webber then queen’s gathering is the best protection you could possibly have. You can also make spider war, and make the spiders kill eachother so you can get their loot
For the Beefalo Pin set peice: By putting something nonflamable in the chest when it's armed, you can reverse loot the chest, and disarm it. After doing this the chest can open freely, and the trap will not rearm.
With the beefalo pen trap I just hammer down the wood walls and collect all the wool and grass, get a bunch of wood from it without cutting trees and having a chance of a treeguard or 10 after me and put all them wood stacks far away from the chest and when it explodes there's nothing near for it to chain burn apart from some of the more useless stuff in the box it's a long process but hey. Need that wood. (normally manage to get the staff and gunpowder before it fully blows up)
I rounded up a large amount of beefalo and left them at the tallfort. I was very effective. Most of the time tallbirds lost the fight even when ganging up, but sometimes a beefalo would die.
Cool tip. Playing RnG if u find any favored set piece/reed trap without wicker keep the world. Start a shipwreck as wicker and explore shipwrecked. When u find a favored shipwrecked world use the shipwrecked boat and merge. U get the oither world as a new character. Get a reed trap without wicker? No problem. Get wicker to the reed trap haha
btw u can buen the chest and pick up the stuff in it after the chest burns but be sure to pick up the stuff befor they burn to without getting the negative effects
Murt Les: yep. If u pick up the ice or fire staff all of the hounds awake and attack. So DON'T pick up. Kill each hound 1 at a time and the hounds will continue sleeping. Only the hound u attack will fight. Ice and fire hounds have lower health and die in 2 hits from most character with a tentacle spike or better. This means u take 0 damage easily and get a ice fire staff.

Skeletons are the best set pieces imo. Yes, there are actual locations better that skeletons (the potato's resting place is literally a free prebuilt base), but *_on average_* skeletons are better.
You forgot the living woods. A large bunch of tightly packed trees that half of them turn into treeguards should you decide to chop it down even if you already planted 30 pincones it will still agro have the trees if you so much as chop one of them.
Spider queen nest one is good as Webber but if your other character your screwed as the game let up to 8 queen spiders spawn at once and that can cause major lag for weak computers
Would you consider the arrangement in Don’t Starve Together with a pond, Moose den, five berry bushes/three juicy bushes, three carrots, and some birch and evergreen trees to be a set piece?

I got a world that had a touch stone right next to spawn with a skeleton that had a beefalo hat not too far away from spawn, with the beefalo right next to both of those things. Life is good bois
