Hey PD Movie, are you making any new LiDAR AF systems with more range than 5 meters. I’m looking for a system that can be used for sports videography but don’t necessary want the dji focus pro.
Great video - we were thinking about investing in this, but wasn't quite sure yet. Your video might have made up our minds! Well structured and great production-value review!
I would love this for like wedding ceremonies. Cause i have been loving manual during other portions of the wedding days just not when people are walking and moving like crazy!
I had my PDMOVIE Live Air 3 Smart calibrated and it was great for close up video shooting with my Canon RF 5.2 Fisheye VR lens. Unfortunately it's no longer calibrated and I can't manage to re-calibrate it so I have to figure out why and see if I can find a fix.
The smart motors more powerful, meaning it can work with stiffer lenses and, more importantly, it can track faster-I used the Smart Motor in this video 😁
It comes with a rubber gear band that you can put on photography lenses (that don't have gear teeth) and it'd work the same! Just calibrate using their instructions and then you'd be able to autofocus!
Ahh, I wasn't aware of that (because the double sided magnet design made me think otherwise), that would definitely help get the most out of the 4m max range while shooting in bright environments!
PDmovie is not really a Lidar it's a TOF. A TOF is almost the same kind as Lidar but a real lidar can cover 190 degrees angle because of multiple IR laser emitted by the sensor while TOF only make 1 IR laser so the angle of a TOF is less than the real Lidar. Don't get fooled by their ads.
This is a great way to getting AF on manual lenses. It isn't perfect but pretty impressive nonetheless. I mean it can only get better from here. Thanks for the vid David!
@@lvrvisuals7800 you seen the size and cost difference? There's a big difference between the two but pdmovie has always kept things very very compact and most importantly, self powered.
In hindsight, I should've had more test footage! But the examples shown basically sum up how it performs, with the focus being 99% spot on within the 4m range.

Teradek, Moonfocus and few more companies are working on it, but most are not on a consumer price level, way to expensive for consumers to afford.
Ahh yes, clarification, I meant at the consumer-level being accessible for non-production houses! Also, hi Chung Dha!
The LIVE AIR 3 SMART is also a great wireless follow focus lens control system, with autofocus being just one of its functions.😁

Finished watching the video, the distance suckkkkksssss
thank you, best video in youtube about this subject. subscribed
Thank you! 😁
Excellent review bro 😊🙌
Appreciate it as always bro!
Awesome review ! How is it compared to DJI’s ?

What is the difference between the smart motor and smart motor mini? Which do you have?
The smart motors more powerful, meaning it can work with stiffer lenses and, more importantly, it can track faster-I used the Smart Motor in this video 😁
What is the maximum focusing distanc? I am thinking wildlife
Definitely not long enough range for that unfortunately
What about with photogtaphy lenses?
It comes with a rubber gear band that you can put on photography lenses (that don't have gear teeth) and it'd work the same! Just calibrate using their instructions and then you'd be able to autofocus!
You have to tape the reflective sticker inside the clothing . You may not see it it the sensor can .

Thanks for dropping by! And yes, I agree, not perfect but what it can do is still pretty unbelievable!
LiDAR autofocus... How would you use it?
I use this with the original canon c100
They got to get that range up to 10 meters
Agreed-it’s the biggest drawback. Otherwise the size & ease would be killer!
Yeah DJI’s new Lidar goes to 20 meters. Pdmovie should take notes.

@@DavidZhou I mean Showwww is (very nice video ) lol in Brasil is like this 😂
@@alexSigns 😂😂 Ahh got it, haha, thank you! And I learned something today
Thanks man! i think i do'nt buy it becauaw of the max of 4 meters.
Does not work
How so??
@@DavidZhou I agree… how so ???
