My dad served as a Govt. Employee for about 30 years. In this period of 30 years, he was regularly transferred to new cities every 4-5 years. We(me,my mom and my sister) used to shift with him wherever he was transferred. One such city that he got transferred to was Shahjahanpur, a city in UP. The home we were alloted there was pretty huge and also had a huge terrace. Now important point to note is that Basant Panchami is celebrated with absolute passion in this city, the sky would be entirely filled with Kites. So every Basant Panchami I would just stand at the top of the terrace and tried to catch all the kites that would get cut loose during all the Pench ladaoing that would be going on (learning some lingo from Jojo and Shrutz🤣) and I remember we would easily catch 50+ Kites. One year it was absolutely crazy and we collected 103 kites in a day. That was also the time that I learned how to fly a kite. It has been 15 years since we left that city and this was the first time in 15 years that I have revisited this memory while writing this comment😄❤🖖🏻
