I've always used a screen protector on my phones, but for the past 2 months, I went ahead and removed it from my Galaxy S10, since I'm going to upgrade soon. I have to say, the tactile experience without a screen protector is something that I've fallen in love. Bare in mind, Gorilla Glass is pretty sturdy. So is Ceramic Shield on iPhones. For everyday use, I would go without a screen protector, just a good case. If you go to the beach, skiing, mountain biking on rough terrain or worknin construction sites on a regular basis, put on a screen protector. However, the tempered glass ones crack easily, and they're 15-20 dollars a piece. Sounds like a lot of hassle to put one, and having to change it after 1 bad drop because it cracked. Again, Gorilla Glass and Ceramic Shield don't crack as easily ftom a drop as you think. Again, the tactile experience on a premium display is unparalleled. Using a protector, cheapens that experience. It's like buying a nice Bentley with a sweet leather interior, and then putting 20 dollars worth of plastic sheet on top of it.
Yeah i get what you say i’m feeling it, just had to remove my screen protector bc glue got messed up and it got a lot of bubbles, thats another thing THE BUBBLES, theres no way of avoiding them sooner or later they always appear
Mine got stuff stuck under neath. It's been annoying me for months. I finally took it off as It was bubbling. I can't believe I didn't do it in the 1st place. It's just a normal good screen without it. They made out if I take it off my screen will be so brittle it will break🤦♂️😂
my screen protector was always covered in scratches, so i took it off, and it's been a couple of months, and the real screen never gets scratched and looks better. You still need a good case imo
True! Its the case with raised edges/lips that protects the screen of a phone not the "screen protector". I dont really get how people cant understand this.
I agree. I've been using my s21 ultra for over 3 years now with no screen protector and my glass crystal clear. The case is super important though. I use a $75 otterbox and have dropped my phone a few times.
It depends on which device you have. However, the new ones have stronger screens, and I suppose a good case with raised edges should do the job. If not, you can even modify the case by raising the edges with some other materials. Just use your creativity.
Fr and you dont even have to go that far most of the time, just get a relatively dense silicone cover with extra silicone on the corners and you should be absolutely fine
If you did not buy AppleCare+, it's a bad idea not to. If you bought AppleCare+, up to you but probably a good bet. But since we now finally have screen protectors that cover the entire display, you're not losing out on anything. Ceramic Shield is great, but if you're a normal person buying a phone to use for years, get a screen protector and a case.
How can tempered glass be scratched by soft key metal? That doesn't make sense. You'd need a harder material to replace it. That being said, I like the plastic style protectors because they never crack. But they do eventually scratch, although I've kept the same one for 3 years now and I can see just fine.
Small rocks that can easily scratch phone screen can get anywhere, your pocket, table top, sofa. It's definitely better to have something to protect your screen, plastic or tempered glass
You know I used my 11 pro max without any protection and still am now and even though I have dropped it on concrete without any protection it still survived and plus it landed on the screen and the screen got a little scuffed up around the edges of the display but it’s still working completely fine no problems
I went naked for 3 years on my iPhone 13 Mini and had no issues. When I sold the phone it only had a few small scratches. I wouldnt say Im a compulsive clumsy dropper but in 3 years I droooed it quite a bit..even from a moving motorcycle once. I always had a good phone case though. It has to have a good raised lip and be fairly rugged. I recommened the Smartish Gripzilla. The experience is much nicer going commando on your phone screen lol. Feels and looks nicer plus the lip will actually extend higher without one. That being said , my teenage daughter always uses one amd I wouldnt have it any other way as she drops her phone multiple times a day.
I made messy scratches on my screen by putting too many credit cards in my wallet style case. I bought a new flat case and a screen protector but found the screen less responsive so took the protector off. I've just bought a new phone and am back to wondering whether to risk it or buy a wallet type case and put no cards in it.
It's not like the ceramic shield on iphone gonna break easily like your screen protector does. Thats not logical thinking "Ok whenever my screen protector breaks my screen in intact so I should always use one"
I used screen protectira for like 10 years and back then it was a good decision because I got a new phone every two years and my previous one was still in perfect condition. But now I started using my phones a lot longer. My last phone was a seven years old iPhone with no value anymore. At first I had a screen protector on it but the last year of its use I did not had a screen protector on it and it felt a lot more premium and smooth. At the end it got a scartch somehow but I don't really mind if I don't sell it. Now I have a midrange Android phone and definitely not installing a screen protector. Phones look much nicer without it and it is an item of use.
How do you like your 13? I've had my SE 2020 for the past 2.5 years now and battery life is pretty rough, I am looking to upgrade to the 13 at the start of next year (2023) and wanted to get people's experience on it. thanks
@@xrrigaming I did, got mine about a month and a half ago and it's been awesome! Huge upgrade for sure and battery lasts all day. I can see myself keeping this phone for many years to come.
Scratches = Scratching glass is next to impossible. Cracks = Cracks only happens if you drop your phone and a screen protector will not help you there. Screen "protectors" are a total waste of money.
Dropped my iphone whilst cycling, screen protector banged up on the edges, not a mark on the screen itself, also had a back cover too, i recommend screen protectors
I was rocking my s9 for 5 years without screen protector but now I bought my iPhone 15 and still continue to do so but after 2 days I got a bad scratch on my screen which was really noticeable. So I went and got a new screen protector first time in my life. Also the screen protectors protect your phones from scratch but won’t protect from cracking. So yeah screen protector is useful.
@@maismade6013 No I mean when I was putting it on my phone it ended up getting bubbles so I took it out again to reapply it and as I was doing this I realised it lead to even more scratches on my screen.
The only reason im second guessing is because phone companies put a lot of work into their screens and they look edgeless im wondering how good my s24 would look like without
I have a screen protector on my phone but it has alittle dust under it and it might be time for a new one. It's not sand it's just plain dust. Will that harm the actual screen or scratch it? The dust is held still between the protector and the phone which obviously keeps it from roaming around on the screen. Atleast I have a screen protector on the actual screen and that's all that matters but I'm just worried about the dust trapped underneath it and I'm not taking the protector off because I don't want to make anything worse.
Also I recently used a privacy screen protector absolutely loved it but one tiny little drop later it shattered so easily so now I’m deciding whether or not I should put a new privacy screen protector on or not because I bought a two pack what would you guys recommend?
The screen will shatter if it has to shatter, no amount of "Screen protector" will prevent it from shattering. Get a good phone case with raised lips/edges and good corner cushioning. Thats what will protect your entire phone (not just the screen).
I tried to avoid using a screen protector this time on the Pixel 9 Pro that I just got. But I just noticed a scratch across the screen. No clue how it got there. So stupid. Im picking up a screen protector.
depending on your use environment. if you use phone mostly indoor, it's pretty much useless. outdoor there could be little rocks and sand that could destroy your screen.
You want to avoid using a screen protector get a good case and AppleCare there ya go simple. I know many people that had protectors dropped there phone and guess what screen still cracked.
I use a phone protector but no screen protector for about 7 years, never break one. Because I mostly use phone indoor, I never drop phone on an uneven surface. if you only use screen protector, the protector will break easily on an even/flat surface.
Yeah it all comes down to not be stupid By example, i had an iphone xr without protector and it didn’t got scratched, however when i was about to clean it because it gets really dirty, put it on a table, and somehow it fell, it was without the cover so yeah it was broken, if i dont make that mistakes and be more careful with my device the phone cover is pretty useless, you barely find rocky environments and when you do you’re not supposed to pull out your phone, its more likely for it to be stolen so i always use it indoors anyway lmfao
I stop using screen protectors for the last 6 yrs. No problem. Better experience. I only use phone case. Back in the day, gorilla glass or amoled were luxury and entry level phones only had plastic screens so the screen protector was worth it but today, entry level phones already have gorilla glass.
