- Mask of Bakris is even MORE insane in PvP and it may soon take the throne as the best PvP Hunter exotic in the game. With Bungie hinting at an upcoming nerf to St0mp-EE5 in one of the recent TWAB updates, Dragon’s Shadow and Bakris may become 1A and 1B in terms of most used Hunter exotics of PvP. And, as of the beginning of Season 15, Bakris has now gotten even more insane. Nothing with the exotic, itself, has been changed, but the introduction of Stasis armor mods has made quite the impact in all facets of the game. Today, we’re mostly going to be focusing on the Stasis class item mod Utility Kickstart.

Thank You so much for this information. I've had to remove Powerful Friends from my build because I needed to run some other combat mods for my PvE build, so I had to make up for it by removing 2 tiers of Recovery, but with these mods equipped I can get those tiers back without sacrificing my Mobility.

I need a better bakris roll to get my hunter from 100 mob 100 rec 90 int for triple 100s. The extra mod slots might be worth it since I’m running x2 bomber for extra grenades. Thanks for tips.

that final clip was a bakris prime play all day lol. i never used hunter before i found out about this exotic so i dont have s tier shatter dives just yet but blinking around while grounded is my new favorite part about the game, and i dont feel like im 'wasting' an exotic slot like i do using astrocyte verse on warlock because i dont have any other exotics to compare it to since its my first time on hunter really.
That's a great point. It's kind of like having a grounded blink, you're right. It has a TON of room for creative play.
I main bottom tree solar with dragons shadow and an ace of spades with felwinters lie. I use precision charge, high energy fire, taking charge, and powerful friends. But when I do use stasis I do always use bakris. It’s amazing.
When properly used, it can give you a significant leg up on your opponents.

If Bakris had one drawback still it’d be that once the Glacier nade dunk on Hunter gets nerfed for good, the rest of the Stasis kit is mediocre to bad, so Bakris would be hard-carrying the build
Which is a bummer, because Bakris is cool, and I just don’t know that it’s equipped to make up for how lacking the rest of the Revenant kit is when you remove the Shatterdive + Glaciers combo from the equation, since I think it’s living on borrowed time
You bring up a valid argument. Though I will say, in my opinion, there are still some solid builds you can make with the fragments and aspects on Stasis that will still be viable. I think there will be some playability for more "Tank-y" builds. Whisper of Rime, Whisper of Shards, etc.
I don't think they're going to completely obliterate shatterdive. They've messed with it a bunch already, and I think they're content with how it works mechanically. I DO think that they will nerf the massive cooldown benefit you get from whisper of shards though. It's currently like a 400-500% cooldown increase when activated. I think they're either reduce the amount of up-time from 10 secs down to 5, or they're reduce the actual benefits you get from it. Slower cooldown = less usage.

Mask of Bakris does give a nice teleport dodge butWraithmetal Mail + Utility Kickstart feels like there are more benefits that benefit the user in PVP.
I don’t think it’s that black and white. A lot of it depends on your play style. If movement and being elusive is a big part of your game, Bakris will be the better choice. If you don’t utilize your dodge as a way to evade or get out of trouble, then yea, Dragon’s Shadow might be the better choice.

I suggest getting Kill-Clip in the final column no matter what. Takes the time-to-kill down a TON. To pair with it, I'd be OK with Tunnel Vision, Moving Target, Dynamic Sway Reduction, and possibly Heating Up. Though Tunnel Vision will synergize better with Kill-Clip.
@ManOfCole Bruv, mines has masterwork reload, small bore and flared mag. It nice af and the reload sooooooo fast so I get right back into the fire fight. I would love one with dynamic sway and killclip tho!

Yea it all depends on how you play. Some people use the dodge as an evasive mechanic, to get into and out of cover. Others are just able to use it for the benefits of mods/exotics (i.e. bomber mods, Dragon's Shadow, throwing knives, etc). Bakris is definitely for those who use it to be more evasive. It can REALLY stretch your limits to where you can position yourself on the map. Super fun and satisfying.

Does Utility kickstart only take effect if you are alive when Light Shift ends?
To my understanding, no. If you use your dodge, and die in the middle of the Light Shift debuff, you will still get the benefit of Kickstart. It procs the moment you dodge, but gets put on hold until after the debuff is gone.
Hey man - I don't know if you will see this but with the recent dodge nerfs, as well as shatter dmg meaning shatterdive is only a movt ability, is this build still worth it, and should I use duskfield instead?

I might suffer through a lost sector for this. I use Dragon Shadow, to me Dragon Shadow gives so many more benefits than Stompees.

Maaaaan I was making a trinity ghoul top tree melee arc build, and this mask was going to be the helmet I used. It feels like getting punched when I hear its only compatable with stasis, and you cant kill for your dodge back. Shit sucks

I believe you’re talking about Perpetuation. Utility kickstart is nice because you can run 2 of them (costing 2 energy) and still run a regular stat mod and a charged with light mod. I believe Perpetuation costs 4 energy, making it not as efficient.

To my knowledge, it always has worked. You don’t see it come into effect until after the 10 second debuff goes away though.

Can i run 6 mob and a light weight weapon and still have the bonus of tier 8 mobility?
(since what i know light frame gives 20 mobility?)
To my understanding, only the mobility stat itself affects the cooldown of the dodge ability
@@ManOfCole That is not correct, Lightweight Frame weapons add a hidden +20 to mobility when you are holding them. When stowed they do nothing. So if I have 80 mobility but I'm holding the Night Watch scout or a Multimach SMG or something that is a Lightweight frame, it will put me at 100 mobility. But if I swap to my shotgun or sniper that's not a Lightweight frame then I am back to 80.

I like stasis hunter for pvp because of bakris.
I know shatterdive combo is all the rage, but that gets boring real quick.
Dragon Shadow is always better than stompies now that QuickDraw was nerfed so you can literally clutch up with the shadows.

It hasn’t been confirmed whatsoever. But bungie certainly hinted at it in a TWAB update a while ago.
How to get it tho ?
You need to do a "legendary" lost sector when it says that the reward is an exotic helmet. It may take a few tries, but eventually it will drop form the chest at the end of the lost sector.

They do…. You have to do a legendary lost sector when the reward is an exotic helmet.

@@EV0ACE well if you haven’t gotten it yet, then the next time an exotic helmet drops from the chest it should be Bakris. They have a mechanic in place where the rewards drop Lost Sector exclusive exotics first (if you don’t have them yet) then it will drop any of the rest of the exotics in that armor slot. So if you haven’t gotten it yet, it will be the first exotic to drop for you.

Why is stompee5 getting a nerf wtf?
They hinted at it a few TWABs ago. It’s likely due to them be the “default” exotic for hunters in PvP.
Because Bungo loves nerfing Hunters, were already the worst class for pve and now they're going to nerf our pvp exotic so we can be the worst class for pvp too. Im about to just switch to Titan im not playing warlock that shits ass

@@ManOfCole that whole section is talking about buffing underutilized exotics... so when they say a certain pair of hunter boots they're not talking about stompees. Most likely they're talking about Orpheus Rigs or Frostees. In any other context I would agree that they would be hinting at stompees but the context is buffing underutilized exotics that need some love.
@@FrostTyler that’s not how I interpret it. Those 2 sentences are referring to retuning and reworking exotics (their way of saying buff and nerf). That last sentence is saying there’s a “pair of Hunter boots that need some extra special attention.” You’re telling me they’re NOT referring to the most popular Hunter exotic when they say that? Because immediately after that, they come back with “and a lot more that need a nudge or two.” IMO, the first half mentioned stompees (nerf) and the second half mentions a few others (buff).

I’ve been trying for WEEKS to get this thing from a fucking lost sector and it never drops
Have you already gotten it? Because if you haven't, it should be the first exotic to drop for you whenever you get an exotic from the legendary lost sectors (the reward for that lost sector has to be an exotic helmet). I would check your collections just to be sure.
I main dragons shadow because of the gunplay but bakris puts shotgunning on easy mode..
A good player with Bakris + Shotgun is very lethal

Charged w light shouldn't be in pvp. No artifact or legacy mod should be.
I disagree. I think it brings another level of build-crafting into PvP. If you can min-max your build to where you can equip some of those mods, you should 100% be allowed to do so. However, the potency of something like High Energy Fire could be toned down just a bit.
@@ManOfCole yea idk man like dont get me wrong I like having more build crafting in the game but I don't agree with the charged w light mods and their ease of use. Like I dont think u should have an infinite damage buff for all of your weapons until u get 1 or even maybe 2 final blows simply because a teamate popped a super next to you or u picked up and orb of power. I just don't think that makes any sense. Even getting a kill and getting charged w light is too rewarding in my opinion because its literally memento mori but for all of your weapons and with an infinte amount of bullets until that final blow condition is met. I've never liked artifact or legacy mods being in pvp because imo it just adds too many variables to the gameplay and overcomplicates things. I feel like there's still a lot of build crafting that can be done without these mods and this will be even more so when our light subclasses get converted into the stasis model.
I love Bakris but shatterdive is cheese so can't do it. Bungie should let it be used on light subclasses
