    I was just at the market on 2nd Road last week, the food is good and very reasonable! Another way to enhance your returns are to sell PUT option on those dividend stocks, you can at least get them at a discount OR invest the proceeds into REITs like ABR or a closed-end funds like ASG or USA.

    What do you think of investing in physical gold and silver?
    I guess one advantage is that you don't have to pay tax when you sell them as long as you sell them in small quantities. Where I live, as long as you don't sell more than 2k of gold at one time, you don't need to show ID.

    • @RetireandGo
      @RetireandGo  4 місяці тому

      I look at gold and silver as a hedge against inflation
      When inflation cools down they also go back down
      Check out Canadian gold and silver mining companies that you get a sweet dividend from
      I want income not a hedge
      That’s my way :-)

Keep it simple and be satisfied with the smaller returns that come from less risky investments so you can sleep at night. By the way, do you use your phone for your videos? I would say that you're a conservative investor, but that's okay because there isn't much recovery time for huge market corrections as we get older. I was wondering if you've ever looked into dividend focused ETF's or mutual funds and if you have, do they pay as well as your dividend stocks? Also, I want to say that although I don't alway agree with you, I like hearing your perspectives because at times, you see things that I see as well. Keep up the great work on your videos. I ask as most people would have friends & family close by in their high cost western home cities & towns. Maybe you reach out to expat communities in the places you visit? @gedlyman1
      Yes, I understand. But it still seems odd, normally in a divorce everything is split 50/50. Considering his well-paying job, house flipping business, owning multi-unit buildings (with up to 24 units), renting out condos, decades of stock investing, there should have been something left.
      Also, in his older video's on Overseas Contracting he tells us that an entry-level job in the field of IT in overseas contracting can earn around 100k a year, and with advanced IT skills up to 200k. On the other hand, he tells us that it took him 5 years of overseas contracting to pay off his debt of $60000. The whole story doesn't make much sense to me.

    It’s worth taking into account that with inflation not being able to be controlled and the amount of money being printed by central banks, that the purchasing power of all fiat currencies particularly in the over indebted western countries is going backwards. Add to that the fact that USD is under threat and you have a recipe for all fiat currency investments including treasuries losing value. Just saying …… Have to keep an eye on the macro, the global financial system is changing its being digitized
