Lovely job on the parts. Quite complicated. I'm wondering how you would apply the hollow grind wheel and a surface grinding system. Have you looked at Jeremy Schmidt design?
Thank you.I have looked at Jeremy Schimidt design before I build my own,just I prefer as little manual work as possible, which is why most parts are made by CNC machines.If you have a link for hollow grind wheel or a surface grinding system you can share to check.
@@elmecworks ok, I am in the process of building 3 of the gen 2 grinders that Jeremy Schmidt has designed. Yes I'm using a CNC to cut out several parts. And made tool to remove the seam from the 2 1/2 inch tubing it's 1/4 wall .I'm going to apply a ceramics platen on these as well as a few other mods. I like the way your work looks. Nice finish.
Beautiful grinder very impressed with the design concept ... one small criticism .. poor welding . I am a bad welder so i fill the welds with automobile body filler before painting although it wouldn't work with powder coating.. Keep safe ,Greetings from South Africa,, Dug Hogarth

Haha maybe yes.I just share my idea for the diy 2x72 ".Owners of lathe and cnc milling machine they would easy make the parts, the result is an easy-to-assemble machine and flexible belt centering.
@@elmecworks I hear that. I’m a rookie knife maker and using different types of belt sanders. 2 x 72 is my final piece to my shop. If I had the equipment to make the parts you have I would. But no go here. Would be awesome to be able to buy the parts complete and then assemble myself. This is probably the case with most people who don’t want to spend $3000 on a belt sander and so t have the equipment to make their own. Awesome video though man!
@@TheRealCardz Glad I know you are a knife maker.I've grown by do it yourself,I like people they want to build machines from scrap so I could participate making parts for them like this 2x72. Low cost is a strong reason for diy and I agree.I would say 1/4 on the price you inticated or more.Thank you for your kind words,really appreciate it.
I think there are too many parts in the machine.If it had fewer parts it would be better. The machine would be more stable.But I can say that your work is fantastic 👍🙋

Many ideas for diy belt grinder on UA-cam,some of them are much simpler projects than mine,using less machined parts ideal to do it yourself at home,but everyone is different dear friend,just I share my project for those can understand and apreciate my ideas,however thank you for your comments.

You should sell those parts kits for a fraction of what people want for 2x72’s. You’d make a killing.

Way to complicated.
Parts fabrication is complicated requires cnc milling machine.I prefer complex parts if they are easy to assemble.Thanks for comment,welcome.
