- close up FACES, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones perform SWEET LITTLE ROCK N ROLLER as final song at reunion concert Hurtwood Park 5th Sept 2015.
Yes, Yes, and Yes to all the comments below! I so miss the keyboard wizardry of Ian "Mac" McLagan) who embodied the heart and soul of The Faces. But there is a bonus in this performance: Robin LeMesurier on rhythm guitar. Robin was Rod's lead guitarist in the early 80s, breathing new life into Rod's plodding bunch immediately post-Faces. Robin also was the soul brother of French rock legend Johnny Hallyday. Sadly, Robin passed in 2022. Can only wonder if Robin had joined The Faces as 2nd lead guitar back in the mid 70s.
Wow, what great insights! I remember Robin from the cover of Rod's album featuring Young Turks. He looked so badass. Like Keith Richards' soul brother. Thank you Rob!
I wish I could have been there.
@@albertroy5293 Great points!
Rod Stewart & Faces w/Ronnie Wood was the second band I ever saw live in concert, in 1974. Those boys blew the top off the (now gone) Capital Center in Largo, Maryland. Glad to see them having the same fun half a century later!
