@FearlessBeatzMusic This is because Simpler's default velocity sensitivity is at 35%.
You can change it in the "controls" tab ; but careful, 100% will eradicate your speakers at default volume. My default Simpler has 100% velocity sensitivity and default volume is at -36 : this way drums hit at maximum velocity, gain staging is half done I just have to go higher for the 808 and master bus is around -6dB already. Drums slap, less work, happy producer.
Also you will have way more velocity range, making your drums and all your one-shots a lot more expressive than in default vel sens

You’re correct, it literally doesn’t matter because anyone who is serious would post process your drums. Whenever I use audio I turn down clip gain or track anyway, you really don’t want to be hitting 0db making the song anyway, leave that for mixing later on.

Same with FL even if you put the velocity at max for midi the playlist still hits way harder. I love drums on midi way more and slap that KNOCK plug-in on my drums to make them hit harder.

It's probably because your midi sampler has bad default setting. A lot in Ableton needs to change in order to be on par with audio samples, simpler has silly default settings.

No it doesn't. Your samplers are at -12db volume default, you need to adjust accordingly. That's a bit of misleading information for beginners

Why is it set that way? Also why is there only a 4 db difference if the default on samplers are -12db? Any explanation is appreciated :)
