Really liked the format. I like you invited this guest who is super relevant and as inspiring as you. I'll preciously bookmark this video. Thank you Will.
important addition to tip 2. change the output of the reference track to 1/2 instead of Master. In this way, plugins on the master channel will not affect the reference track
Don’t forget on tip 2 to assign the output of the reference track to your interface output instead of master, otherwise you’ll hear the reference track processed by whatever is on your master bus
@@EDMTips 6 weeks ago I opened abelton and was a Wtf! But watching your beginners playlist and I'm not done yet think I have one left. I know what is in front of me I have created from midi now which is ace. 🙌👑 Take a bow sir 🙌👑
Will I loved this format of video! Really cool to see you hosting other professionals sharing their own tips. It would be incredible if you did a video about managing CPU in your ableton projects and PC in general. I have a 2015 Macbook Pro that nowadays can barely handle a 20 track project with 4 or 5 instances of Serum on it, even with my buffer size maxxed out and sample rate set to a modest 44.1. I'm sure there are other factors at play here that I might be unaware of (using an external display to show my session view in a different window for example)
About Tip #8. I think there's a bit of mistake in the video while explaining shortcuts. As per Live 11 manual which says: "To slide the contents of a clip within the clip’s boundaries, hold CTRL-Shift(Win) / ALT-Shift(Mac) while dragging the clip’s waveform or MIDI display. To bypass grid snapping, hold down CTRL-ALT-Shift(Win) / CMD-ALT-Shift(Mac) while dragging the clip’s contents." So just to clarify this and it works.
Ableton always has a secret you dont know, I thought i knew it all but CRTL - ALT- SHIFT - DRAG is literally a massive timesaver with moving vocals in place, Cheers!

I apologize if this is the wrong video for this but you said what genres do we want you to help us create, can you make a song in the spirit of trentemoller royscop remix. Pretty sure he only did one of them I can't remember what it's called right now, but you'll know it when you searching on UA-cam because it's one of the best tracks ever made.
Hey great content. Is there a way to see / add the master bus plug ins (chain) from other Projects ? The loading method with " Current Projects " shows all the tracks with its content and plug ins, but NOT the Master Bus..
I don't enjoy this format. Will you're the best music teacher I've ever seen in my whole life and I prefer to see only you on this channel always. Thank you so much
Make sure the output of your reference tracks is the output channels of your interface (Ext Out) rather than your Main/Master channel, otherwise your reference will play through any FX you have on Main, which defeats the purpose.
Hello could you make a tutorial for how to see span in master and plug in you working with in a channel please many people have this problem I struggle when creating leads kicks bass I gotta switch all day! A producer told me there is an option in ableton 11 in View to second window i did it but no matter I have 2 different windows I get same plug in let's say I have opened one in channel Ana 2 plug in and a second for master and I have same plug ins when I click on span in one window it switches at the same plug in the other one and when I click in Ana 2 in the first window I get same plug in in the other one so I have 2 different views I get same plug in both no matter what I do
Hi Will, Have a question that I can't seem to find the answer. Maybe you can help me. When right clicking on a Solo button you get a choice of "Solo in Place" What does that do? Thx.. ElectricEddie
@@EDMTips I guess maybe you could share your your knowledge with production tips etc ( obviously keeping the Ableton focus ) but maybe incorporating more third party synths and plugins and so on, so that way you would achieve more viewers because more people could implement your tips, tricks across a multi platform environment using the principle that you use within Ableton?

Very usefull CTRL I !

That’s a good one!
is that different from selcting 'Ext Out' like we normally do? very curious
LOVE the latecy and arrangement tips! Great video!
This helped me so much!!
Don’t forget on tip 2 to assign the output of the reference track to your interface output instead of master, otherwise you’ll hear the reference track processed by whatever is on your master bus

Some good tips here - nice one 👍 👌 😊

CMD SHIFT D & CMD SHIFT BACK
Great quick short cuts
Surprised myself how many I knew already ?! 👨🏫

Thank you, really appreciate the support! 🙂🙌🏻
Whaaat tip 4 is so simple, been using ableton over 15 years now and never ever wondered why that folder is there 😂
I apologize if this is the wrong video for this but you said what genres do we want you to help us create, can you make a song in the spirit of trentemoller royscop remix. The "hide groups" was a new one on me. That will be very useful. Thanks. #madeinthehutch
You are welcome, glad you liked it :-)
Love the hidden preset!!!
Anyone know anymore hidden presets?
OTT is the most popular one. It is inside 'Multiband Dynamics' built in audio effect
Tip number 6, all I can say is, to quote a classic: Woah!
I passed this video up for a couple weeks because of the thumbnail and title. Content was way better than the slimy salesmanship led me to believe.
Thank you for the feedback, perhaps we'll change that :)
8. CTRL+SHIFT+ MOUSE DRAG (on Windows)
Hey great content. Is there a way to see / add the master bus plug ins (chain) from other Projects ? The loading method with " Current Projects " shows all the tracks with its content and plug ins, but NOT the Master Bus..
Please help on TIP 6 , I have production files everywhere , how do I get them into one location. I need some housekeeping help!!
For tip 2, you could just activate the crossfader and put the reference track on one side and the rest on the other side.
With tip 4 is there a way to save the track so that you could use it on a later project?
Ignore this is tip 6 LMAO
Also pros:
- I don’t know what it does but sounds cool.
Love it! 😆

yeahh iam a pro because i know my daw :D
MyTip #11
Knowing what you are buying is the key.
Nice
Hi Will, Have a question that I can't seem to find the answer. Maybe you can help me. When right clicking on a Solo button you get a choice of "Solo in Place" What does that do? Thx.. ElectricEddie
I can't believe you didn't pronounce DAW as Dah-W 😂. Anyway saving these tips for when I get Ableton
after reading this the 5th time I'm still laughing 🤣
very hip
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
CTRL, S or CMD, S. Remember this one :)
Good one! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Does Paris Hilton know about these tricks as well? 😮
Would you mind telling her about these? 😁
Would love to if she knows what is Ableton and what it is used for 😂
Love you vids, I just wish you could do more none targeted content ie just for Ableton
Thanks, Danny! Since I am using Ableton, it would be difficult for me to teach in other DAWs.
What kind of less targeted content do you have in mind?
@@EDMTips I guess maybe you could share your your knowledge with production tips etc ( obviously keeping the Ableton focus ) but maybe incorporating more third party synths and plugins and so on, so that way you would achieve more viewers because more people could implement your tips, tricks across a multi platform environment using the principle that you use within Ableton?
why do you have your bass +2 and drums at 0
makeup gain on glue compressor does not impact distortion whatsoever
meant to add: I think you were looking to drive gain INTO the glue compressor in order to push the compressor harder.
Great video man. Love your content. Please don’t jump on that stupid trend on having this insane faces on the front page 😂just my two cents
I really don’t like this style of thumbnail
Please be more concise
Thanks for the feedback!
