Another winner. My first exploration into phasing was singing while moving an album cover backwards and forwards towards my mouth like a trumpeter might use a mute. That, and bouncing a tennis ball in the alleyway next to my grandparents house and hearing the strange metallic echoes I now recognise in karplus strong synthesis. The sonic realm is still a great place to play and explore. I think that's why I love these videos so much. Thanks!
beautious explanation. entertaining demonstration. i am still working my way through Allen's book. it's too fascinating and i keep going over and losing myself intrying out his examples. a nice tome for sure. thanks for the vid. oh, and i liovvvved the outro perform. cant wait unti Thomann gets more Stregaz...then mine comes home
Fascinating. I was able to largely replicate the patch on my Minibrute 2s (swapping AM via the separate VCA for ring mod, so it's not quite the same), and it's a great deal of fun. (Bonus: flip an LFO to free-running and patch it to the clock input to run the sequencer at audio rates.)
Hmm, good question. "Ring modulator" may actually be the more old-school, as it refers to the physical arrangement of diodes used to implement it in analog circuits. All the other names refer to the bipolar behavior in some way.
and this is why I'm a pathetic musician. I know nothing of these things...and have no idea where to begin to look. your vids are amazing....and further solidify that I have NO idea what im doing. look forward to the next.
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC It also looks to me like you'd have fun with the Sleepy Circuits Hypno! unless that's what you actually used for the video fx! but that's another deal all-together!

The Moire Effect!! Always enjoyed the visual effect - never thought about it in terms of audio.thanks for the mind expansion
Always love it when you take a page out of Mr. Strange’s playbook!
That makes two of us!
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Nice. New book suggestions ftw.

Very informative... Really love that closing patch with Strega and 0-CTRL.
Thanks!!
This is such a great episode. Trippy af.
As both a musician and digital artist, I love the idea of visuals representing sounds. Again, so much cool stuff to consider!
Remember to add this one to your Strange Patching playlist. I saved that one for academic purposes. Great vid as always!
Thank you! I have now done so :)
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC thank you!
Couldn't make the premier but inspiring as always. Looking forward to playing with this patch, Thank you!
Seriously, how did someone figure out that the Listening Exercise sound was angel hair pasta being broken over a glockenspiel?!
Intuitive Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) via highly sensitive sensory attention
Their glockenspiel has a more interesting life than most glockenspiels. Or maybe it's Italian.
The final patch with Strega and 0-CTRL is dope!
Thanks!
Mannnnn... I already have a Morphagene, but I wouldn't mind having that Shared System. What a beaut.
Fun discovery: this patch sounds also great with AM instead of RM, just use a traditional VCA instead of a ring mod in the patch :)
Another wonderful video - thank you so much for doing these!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoy them ⚡️
Gotta say “the 3rd part observer” part is good way to think of getting new patches. Like connecting headphone not to the sum output…
Thanks!
Really like this sound that you make.
Thanks!

Thank you! Happy patching with Strange :) ⚡️⚡️
Can you Make RENE in Any other colors? Like Violet Purple?
Loved the SS and Strega vibes
Thanks!
Missed the premiere, work got in the way today.....
Nice job on this one Walker.
And great guess on on the listening exercise from last week.
Glad you got to check it out!! ⚡️⚡️

Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!!
We live inside a patch. Great jam at the end!
We do, don't we? Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed!
wish this had begun with the word "hi"
otherwise, great video. love it when these concepts from early pioneers are explored in your unique way.
Hi! Thanks for watching!!
At 4:55 you can see "RM or BM" in the figure. RM is ring modulation, but whats BM stands for? Great video as always.
Balanced Modulation. Basically the same thing: four quadrant multiplier, bipolar VCA are additional synonyms ⚡️⚡️
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Today i learned, thanks. Is this more old-school way to name it, or just more technical? Never have seen it.

fantastic! somebody’s gotta reprint that book 🤞
Somebody’s going to! There will be a Kickstarter this fall.
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Ahhhh! Such great news!
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC damn! That's fantastic! I am currently reading a copy I borrowed from a library, but had only dreamed of owning one
top!
I want that shirt! Where can I get it? Great video as always btw
Thanks! The shirt is a white Make Noise logo tee that I tie dyed last summer. The white tee is sold out but may come back in the future ⚡️
So cool! You're taking us to school!
Glad you enjoyed!

damn I got the something dropped onto a glockenspiel part right lol just not the right material
why not just post these once they're recorded? is this a live event or something?
