I loved Andor. It's the Star Wars I've been waiting for since the original trilogy. The calibre of storytelling easy eclipses anything else Disney has done so far with the franchise. The soundtrack is a big part of it. Sadly there's no "Main Theme" to the series, however the funeral march music on Ferrix during the "Rix Road" season finale was so hauntingly beautiful. Then the sudden switch to get rousing and inspirational... Goosebumps!
This was a challenging arrangement, mostly in the way of finding a balance between staying true to the extremely slow nature of the original piece and bringing some complexity to it so it's not the most boring piano piece to play. I hope I found that balance.

What did you think of Andor?
Superb. The most enjoyable star wars experience since revenge of the sith
Perfect. Very deep and dark. The last speech Cassian listen about the rebellion is pure gold. Can't wait for the season 2.
Its perfect
Perfect.
I was optimistic about Andor but by episode 2 my hopes were crushed
As one of the Animators who worked on Andor (who also plays piano), this is so cool....
For real? That's sick.
One of the greatest series that I have seen in my entire life.
You should be proud to have worked on something so great, thank you for your contribution to the Star Wars universe, for helping give us something so great!
What kind of stuff did you animate for the show
The whole show was so good, gave me chills
This song hits harder than a loved one’s brick to the face.
😂😂 love this one
One of the most cathartic finales in television history
Nicholas Brittel's score for this series was absolutely stellar. Up there with the very best in Star Wars.
This piece is one of the best pieces of music to come from Star Wars in a long time. Nothing in Star Wars has conveyed such strong feelings for me. Even just listening to your arrangement on the Piano I can feel the sorrow they were feeling, and as the song progresses I can feel my heart beating faster as the sorrow turns to agony and then suppressed anger ready to be released. It's absolutely incredible and is one of the making points of the series for me. I love your arrangement of it!
Yeah, the fact that it's an in-universe peice of music makes it even better.
I’m going to disagree purely because, in my opinion, pretty much all Star Wars music is phenomenal. That has never been a low point for the series. I would like to clarify, that that doesn’t mean that I don’t like the Funeral march, it’s fucking great.
Coming from the north west of England, an area of coal miner's bands and left behind heavy industry this music really made me so happy.
i think the only star wars thing that got more emotion out of me than this arrangement was his arrangement of burying the dead
This is in my opinion one of the best soundtracks from any show in a while but more importantly one of the best diagetic soundtracks of all time. The way all the characters on Ferrix react to this music and the music itself makes this moment so emotional
“I’ve been looking forward to this”
Just like with Your Father Would Be Proud, A Jedi's Fury, Battle of the Heroes, Gregor, Burying the Dead, Kanan and the Fire, Sabine sees Ezra, Overcoming the Past and so forth this piece really moved me when it first played. Andor is a diamond in the rough and it was such a treat to watch. It really was the sleeper hit everyone eas hoping it'd be and I couldn't be happier. Your ability to recreate those emotional beats with your pianist skills speaks to your talents. Never stop playing. May the force be with you.
Thank you for the recommendations! I added all of them to my playlist:)
anakin's betrayal (the song) is another that does amazing at conveying emotions like this
@@mastermichael0751 + add ahsoka leaves anakin/Jedi order too
When I saw this on my recommendation, I thought, "I wonder how this fellow cram an entire funeral marching band to a piano", and I think you did quite well. You really struck the balance between cramming the notes and not making it repetitive on just one instrument and keeping the somber feeling of the original.
Thank you :)
My name is Maarva Carrassi Andor. I'm honored to stand before you. I'm honored to be a Daughter of Ferrix, and honored to be worthy of the stone.
Strange, I... feel as if I can see it. I was six, I think, first time i touched a funerary stone. Heard our music, felt our history, holding my sisters hand as we walked all the way from Fountain Square. Where you stand now, I've been more times than i can remember.
I always wanted to be lifted. I was always eager, always waiting to be inspired. I remember every time it happened, every time the dead lifted me... with their truth. And now I'm dead, and I yearn to lift you. Not because i want to shine or even be remembered. It's because i want you to go on. I want Ferric to continue. In my waining hours, thats what comforts me most.
But I fear for you. We've been sleeping. We've had each other, and Ferrix, our work, our days. We had each other and they left us alone. We kept the trade lane open, and they left us alone. We took their money and ignored them, we kept their engine churning, and the moment they pulled away. we forgot them. *(SIGH)* Because we had each other. We had Ferrix. But we were sleeping. I've been sleeping. And I've been turning away from the truth I wanted not to face.
There is a wound that won't heal at the center of the galaxy. There is a darkness reaching like rust into everything around us. We let it grow, and now it's here. It's here and it's not visiting anymore. It wants to stay.
The Empire is a disease that thrives in darkness, it is never more alive than when we asleep. It's easy for the dead to tell you to fight, and maybe it's true, maybe fighting is useless. Perhaps it's too late. But I'll tell you this, if I could do it again, I'd wake up early and be fighting those bastards from the start! Fight the Empire!
(Stolen from TheRed_Knight)
One of the best monoluges in cinema.
Hearing this played on piano really makes me recall "Light Of The Seven"
I haven’t seen Andor, but judging from this song, I can tell I’ll really appreciate the show. It sounds so low key, but very impactful.
I'd whole heartedly suggest giving it a watch, but keep two things in mind, it's a lot like Rogue One, but given more of a slow burn pacing.
i had the honor of stumbling across a lovely facebook posting about "thoughts about Andor" before seasons end. Someone commented "its too slow, no lightsabers, no jedi, etc" .. the reply was "it literally starts off with a double homicide."
lol. so enjoy the show. its very deep, it lets the characters develop, the dialogue is superb (or maybe i need to read more), the acting is great, and ... shit i need to rewatch it again.
You will not be disappointed. Best Star Wars series since the original movies!
the song and the scene that it goes with it is beautiful and powerful and well worth watching
i can literally see the march in my head it's magnificent. what a show.
This was a beautiful piece. Thank you. Andor was one of the best shows I've seen in a little while. It was much more of a gem than I was expecting it to be.
God be with you out there everybody. ✝️ :)
Seeing it in this format really lends credence to the idea that music is in the DNA of any good cinematography
3:04 hits hard and I can't fully figure out why! I just love it
That's the part of the song that is not just about Maarva anymore. That is the people of Ferrix, their anger, their anguish and their determination to take a stand and fight for what it theirs.
There are so many emotions in the Funeral March, it's insane, every detail of the series is executed masterfully.
The part where B2 called everyone to march :)
For me, thats where the song switches from being a solemn funerary march, almost to a march to war. The people of Ferrix rise up
Damn Corey, I wanted to say this exact comment, but to try and give an answer as well I think it's because of three things:
That epic fanfare score, the shifting of tides for the Rebellion and to add a third and more cheesier reason; the fandom finally geting some good SW content ;)
@@joshcorbett9674 this song really captures the core of what star wars is: people rising out of their oppression with everything they've got: anger and determination
After hearing of Diego Luna's father passing I knew I had to hear this song again. Made me more emotional than the first time. 🙏🙏🙏
"Long have I waited. And now it's coming together" - Palpatine
Your solo piano version is truly beautiful! , As the editor of the episode Rix Road this version blows me away. Masterful!
your editing was amazing! Great work
My favorite part is the swell at the end and I’m sad that it isn’t in the soundtrack.
Stone and sky!
Andor was the show I was waiting for my whole life. Got the special edition trilogy as a kid, and would pontificate often as an adult about how awesome a grown up Star Wars could be. I was expecting a grown up Jedi show; I was not excited for a Cassian show (even though Rogue One was the best movie since Disney acquisition, and still is). But I was wrong. I wanted a show about the empire and rebellion. Truly a gift to Star Wars fans; such an amazing interpretation and humanization of the rebellion. Nemik, Luthen, Deedra, Kino. Wow. The show hits you like an ash brick to the face...
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
This is so beautiful! Now I want to rewatch it for the third time...
This is so haunting and beautiful!!!
Yo this song gave me chills bro 😭
Long Time since I get emotional from a scene at the end of a series like when the music started in Andor
I also recommend you attempt the andor theme from the end of episode 3, it's simple but beautiful
Pls do ISB theme next. I think its utterly underrated
HOT DAMN
oooooo I was wondering if you'd do this one! Incredible and haunting, as usual. gorgeous.
I loved the song. It’s completely unrelated to John Williams’ brilliant works, so it isn’t using nostalgia like other shows have used, but it would make him immensely proud.
It’s difficult not to hum with Bix or chant “stone and sky” with the crowd.
I didn't know if I'd like a pian version. Now I know. WOW!
yo I'm so glad you came around to making this theme, I missed your uploads bro what happened?
Still uploading regularly, UA-cam has just sorta fallen off with views.
@@AtinPiano indeed however regardless of youtube views or not, I encourage uploads cause I really love your stuff man. Been watching your for 4-5 years now and I must say, you're really talented so I'm sure people will find you videos somehow
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
This was truly a treat to hear. It is a very beautiful piece. Thank you for practicing and performing this. Your dedication to your craft is very much appreciated!
Does anyone else think that the Ferrix Funeral March sounds like a slower version on the opening credits to Andor with different instruments
They definitely share DNA. Intervals are changed around a bit
IIRC, the Funeral March was the first piece of music written, before the show and opening credits had been written.
@@2KOOLURATOOLGaming And everything in the show was based around leading up to that final episode, yes
There's a theory floating around online that the song which plays during the titles is part of Andor's own funeral dirge, which would make sense given that this series is charting his course to the events of Rogue One, and his death.
@2:20 ohhhh i get it now. they made a final fantasy set in star wars. brilliant
This is a great piece of music, but the one detail that I love from the show is- it’s all out of tune. Everyone is a little sharp or a like flat, slightly earlier or slightly later than their compatriots while it’s a funeral march.
It gives you a very authentic feel that these are real people who has real lives that were taken from them. They have their discordant stories. They’re imperfect. They’re not quite aligned and aren’t truly a rebellion.
Then the tempo picks up, more voices join in, and it balances out. It becomes better for more voices and becomes an enraged force to be reckoned with. And it slaps so. Darned. Hard.
This and the new end credits score to Ahsoka are the best Star Wars music to come out of the new projects
By far one of the best pieces of Star wars piano music I’ve ever heard!
Wow thank you atin This one of the Most emotional piece of Star wars music thanks for translate it to the Piano so well i appreciate your Work i dont understand why the UA-cam Algorithmen ist Putting you down i Love your Piano Videos and i think it schould deserve more Like around a half year ago I Hope your doing alright
AMAZING tune!
Quite simply beautiful ❤️
So wonderful^^
May the force be With You!
What a great cover man. Makes me want to learn piano.
Beautiful! Well done!
thank you for that masterpiece
This is beautiful, thank you.
at first i didnt like andor, i thought it felt too star trek episode one and thus i didnt take it further having been burned by kenobi and bobf i admit i was pre-emptive in my dropping of the show... but then i got into legion and felt i should watch it to get content ideas and paint schemes and ideas for the table top...
and holy shit was i glad i did andor was like the deep breath before a shout, the funeral scene especially i loved it and hope it continues being so good.
FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WAITING
Beautiful
Perfection
Will this be available on Spotify? If it will be that would be amazing
It is
@@keithjohnson7893 it isn’t. I’m talking about his rendition of it.
No. This is copyrighted material. Man up and get youtube music
@@TraceguyRune there are literally millions of covers on Spotify dude.
@@TraceguyRune yet it is on Spotify, I just checked under the playlist that AtinPiano for Star Wars covers.
Finally, been trying to find this.
Lost count of how many times ive listened to this is the past 3 days

This is definitely my favorite song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😮!!!!!!!!😮!!!!!!!😂!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Please do a Piano Cover to the Past/Present Suite
Thanks!
Majestic
Like the reverb!!
Best animation
Absolutely amazing work, sounded beautiful.
How do you set up the lighting for the video? Like is it a certain program you line up with the music or is it just like an extremely extremely expensive keyboard?
This seems like a place where I might be able to find something I'm looking for-- an Andor fan who's also a folk musician. I've got an idea percolating that I'm hoping such a person might be able to help realize.
Drug for my mind! master peace. Just WOW. incredibile. Absolutely Fabulous (darling...). Thank U to exist Atin. Lot of respect from Jeremy :) I try to reproduce everything you do... i'm just a poor imitation but you inspire me :)
A cover of Impend from halo 2 would be absolutely exquisite
It’s a wonderful piece of music but it’d be very difficult to march to.
Still, one of the best uses of diegetic music in recent movies (using that term broadly).
My favorite diegetic Star Wars music moment is the cantina band stopping after Ben’s “bar fight” and then starting right back again as soon as it’s over.
Just another Tuesday for Figirin D’an and the Modal Nodes.
Stone and Sky, stone and sky, stone and sky
This redition was perhaps even more haunting than the original.
Thos score was perfect for that finally. These people just wanted to work and mourn the loss of their figurehead, and them empire beat them down every time. It wasn't a funeral march, it was a war march
Any chance to make some kind of Andor' suite in the future, or maybe other Andor's pieces? Funeral march is truly emotional and probably the most iconic music piece of the show, but there are also other themes that I believe would worth a shot, like Andor's main theme or Mon Mothma's one. You may want to check the channel Star Wars Music Analysis! Thanks for this cover :)
May the Force will help you for the Rebelion
While I appreciate this arrangement, I think the Funeral March losing something being cleaned up. The roughness of the theatrical version (the missed notes, out of tune instruments, etc.) make it seem more organic, more of a "rise of the people" event.
you should do a cover of the music played in the last scene of the bad batch s2 ep 8...it would sound amazing
NoIce
Hi you’re really good at piano and I’d love it if you played Quinn’s song: A New Man ❤❤ thanks
Could you do he’s a pirate from pirates of the caribbean
great job.... cool if i use it (the soundtrack) in one of my future youtube vids?
Great job, @AtinPiano! I look forward to your next Star Wars video! I just got the Garritan CFX Lite virtual piano, do you have any tips on mixing it?
Not really, just play around with it until you get a sound you like
Okay, thanks!

"We will watch your career with great interest"
это великая музыка.
I tried and I can't get close to be able to play this song on piano. I don't know how he does this
I bet you can do the first half no problem! :)
Does remind me of the Game of Thrones episode "The long night".
could you do "the theme of ali" from the battle of algiers ? Some of the notes of the song is based on it
Fight the Empire!
PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ make a cover on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's soundtrack. It's a really nice soundtrack!! Please consider doing this!!
Can you play The Crows by David Fenn?
Can you do the rebellion suite from andor?
Would u do basic andor theme?
may I ask what piano you are using ?
At this point they can put a blaster sound and droid go be bo be and it will get 10/10 out of me.
Is there a version on Spotify? Can't find :(
It takes about a week for Spotify to publish new tracks.
