    @MadRockClimbs is launching the completely new Shark 3 shoe for 2024. This shoe is the culmination of all the rubber molding technology they've been developing and refining over the last 20 years. There so much that has gone into such a feat of engineering and shoe design, yet they're keeping the price at $120 for the U.S.! Impressive work MR, well done.

    Something not mentioned here, and maybe they only finalized it fairly late for production, but the horizontally sliding elastic top of the shoe is actually secured by a hidden inner velcro system. This means that you can have near-unlimited resizing options for the volume of the shoe, once you've found your perfect length-wise fit. It's a COMPLETE game changer in the world of customized performance fit for the masses (vs bespoke shoes for pros).
    These are by far my favorite shoes now and make the rest of my collection feel out-of-date. MadRock is absolutely on-point with their innovation, from the fin heel to now their volume adjustment system - just incredible!

    Can't wait! All my shoes have been Mad Rock because their heel fit my narrow heel very well! Other shoes like La Sport, Tenaya and Scarpa always have dead space around the heel for me. I really love my Shark 2.0 and Drone 2.0! Thanks Mad Rock for keeping the price accessible while providing high performance and high comfort shoe.

    As a big guy with a size 15 street shoe, I appreciate you guys pushing the size range up. I've reached out to most major manufacturers and they've all flat out said there will be no expansion on their performance lines so I'm very stoked to hear you guys mention pushing the range.
    Went to the HQ and Andrew mentioned that I could custom order a Drone 2.0 in a 15 - is that an option for the Shark 3 when it releases?

      Sure but there is also a high difference in quality. I really wasn't convinced by the build quality of Madrocks (for example the Remoras). The bonding between the edge rubber and the sole is coming loose in several places and this is a known problem that is not being addressed. This never happened to me with 5.10 (before Adidas), SCARPA or La Sportiva. Since I resole my shoes several times, I prefer to pay for a good foundation. Also there are good alternatives to Italien brands. One example for low price and high quality is Ocun.
      However, the friction of the Madrock rubber is excellent.

    I tried Mad Rock shoes for the first time a few months back, I ordered a pair of Shark 2.0s. I got them for very cheap on sale just looking for some cheaper beaters for the gym but after a couple sessions to get used to them I was blown away, they far outperform the price point (especially since I caught them during a big holiday sale). They feel great and fit my foot perfectly but what really blows me away is the rubber. They're still sticky as hell. I then ordered a pair of Drones that were also on sale and I love them too for outdoors. For the price point these shoes are far nicer than I expected them to be.

    • @Nightwishmaster
      @Nightwishmaster 8 місяців тому

      @@alvisebordignon4010 It's hard for me to compare to either since I've only ever really tried them on at demos and stuff, I came from Evolv shoes. They're supposed to fit your street shoe size, both of mine are and fit me well. The Drones are snug to pull on so I'd imagine downsizing them could make them pretty hard to get on.

      @@alvisebordignon4010 Hey there! Ideally you're able to try our shoes on in-person for the best fit, but we know that's not always an option. For most of our shoes, we typically recommend sizing true-to-size with your street shoe as a baseline.

      I am a size 9 in US street shoes. In the old Drones I'm a size 8.5, which fit tight. However, when I ordered the Shark 3.0 in the same size (8.5), I found them to be about half to a full size larger than my 8.5 Drones. I suggest considering a size that is 1 to 1.5 sizes smaller than your US street shoe size.

      So the "concave sole" is a patented technology that is a full 3d concavity in the sole which translates into the interior toebox. The "love bump" is basically a ridge that runs across the interior of the toe box. Similar, but definitely not the same. Mad Rock came out with the concave sole years before the love bump was introduced to Evolv shoes
