- At the request of murjax, I've happily uploaded my 2nd segment of my reversed Amtrak Acela cabride. Just to let you know, this isn't an actual cabride, it's REVERSED which should explain to you why the train is supposedly passing red signals.
Thanks for the breakdown dude, as an ex train driver (engineer) i was crapping myself seeing the train doing 125 though RED signals..Pheeeeeew lol

Now if only the Acela could go this fast for more of its route.

I'm curious to ask, how did you get INTO THE REAR CAB OF AN ACELA, OR DID YOU STICK A GOPRO ON THE NOSE AND ATTACHED A RADIO CAMERA, IM CURIOUS.....
The interlocking at the beginning is called 'Cranston Interlocking', although it is in providence, about 1/2 mile north of the cranston border. After that on the left is the Cranston yard which the P&W and Amtrak share.
Right at 7:24 to your right across the street that runs alongside the railroad is a "virtual railfan" live camera hosted on the gable end of a residence.

@trinityct Yeah, but that's going to take two new tracks and a new alignment. The NYC-BOS section won't be running along the shoreline, though.
@trinityct No, the existing NEC would remain, but a new HSR alignment would be built between NYC and BOS.
Northeast Maglev would use an entirely new alignment east of the current NEC; for that reason, the current NEC would remain. (SC Maglev in Japan will run east of the Shinkansen line - like Northeast Maglev, it will be a parallel alignment.)

This is a bit confusing watching it in reverse, I work on this line as an LSA for years and to see it this way is odd. Wrong track, wrong signals for this direction. But really confusing when you hit the greasers as they are on the wrong side of the curve. Well done, really like the speed.
Why does the Acela Express only have a small amount of cabride videos.
Theirs one from Boston to New York that is three and a half hours I think

It's obvious that this video is being played "backwards". How else do you run through red signals at 125mph? Also, the train is on the wrong main.
Not to mention the veeeery fake horn..

The Amtrak Acela only has a top speed of 165 mph. It cannot do 200 mph like a few people says. Its like pushing your car to the top speed, not what the speedometer says. Cannot wait to see faster HSR in the US such as California and others. :-)

This is edited. The video is actually in reverse, and a K5LA used for the P42DC in Train Simulator was edited in at 6:05 as well.
Read what the publisher wrote. Totally upfront about this being reversed.
150 mph and the only fences are buisnesses/home owners who don't want people trespassing.
I think in Europe almost everything above 100 mph would be fully fenced in.

Yeah the Acela trains only has about 9,000 HP and the french tgv has about 12,000 HP. It would be just a waste of money to buy 200 mph trains on a line that only limit to 150 mph in a small area 13 years ago. It makes better sense to buy new trainsets for a 220 mph line since the old Acela is 13 years old.
can this train go 200 Mph?
The Acelas power cars(locomotives) are capable of reaching 200 Mph, but due to old infrastructure, and heavy traffic along the NE corridor, it is only allowed to go 150 Mph.
