- Our second stop on the Gold Coast is Australia's largest theme park, Dreamworld! Home to rides like Steel Taipan, Gold Coaster, and Motocoaster, this wildlife and thrill park has had a tough past few years with numerous big ride closures...but also several new ones to take their place (and more on the way!). In this vlog we'll explore all this park has to offer, including the parks limited run night event, featuring food trucks and live music!

Dreamworld ride op here. Was looking forward to this episode. Did not disappoint at all.
The gold coaster is the big dipper relocated from Luna park Sydney, it was recently refurbished & renamed but it was called the hot wheels racer for a bit but most aussies remember it as the cyclone
Sarah: "But that ones real!"
Taylor: "Wow, that's 1 big stuffed animal."
This park's had a rough trot to say the least, but it's on the way up now for sure. They're refurbishing a ton of the rides and areas. Did you guys see about the new 'River Town' precinct? They will be adding adding a Vekoma family luanch coaster called 'Jungle Rush'. It looks like it will be similar to Big Bear Mountain at Dollywood. They say it's going to have incredible theming and be their biggest investment yet.
I don't know if I can ever trust it to go back after the deaths on the river rapids ride. I haven't been back since

Glad you guys enjoyed the park! It's my favourite of the gold coast ones. Shame pandamonium was down when you were there, hard mode is genuinely one of the most wild rides. All the more reason to return!
That weird heartline roll with the backseat must be very intense and chaotic. Sad that you guys couldn’t try it
I've done it and the last element was insane on the spinning seat. Shame they couldn't experience it

The reason that the gold coaster layout is so weird is because it’s from Luna park Sydney, where the current Big Dipper is. The space where it used to be is a weird shape and it was made for that area which is why it looks weird.
Free roaming kangaroos in a theme park is something that you will only see in a dream until you go to dreamworld
That looks so unreal when you look at it with European eyes. Our petting zoos usually have goats, maybe sheep and minipigs. And those guys get to chill with freaking KANGAROOS! I'm jealous.
@verybighomer Most zoos down under have Kangaroo petting areas. As an expat it was surprising at first but you get used to it 😅
@@ThemeParkOgre there’s actually a kangaroo petting zoo in my country I’ve been there once when I was like 4 or 5
With so many people at the evening event you'd think they'd open a few coasters in the area. 🤔
That first children area with the "chinese" aesthetic was a huge dreamworks area, that plaza with the construction was all kung fu panda (japanese) themed. All the rides were themed after dreamworks films, it was suuuuuper dope. Not too sure why they are rebranding everything but hopefully it comes out alright :) Cool to see you both at my childhood park (from Melbourne, but would travel most years to the gold coast). Surprised you didn't complain about the harness discomfort and roughness of the gold coaster hahahaha.
They don’t have the Dreamworks licence anymore (save money). Pandamonium has now reopened as Serpent Slayer (looks good)
@@donoakes85 not really to save money more likely dreamworks didn't want to lease out the license to dreamworld anymore
Gold Coaster has actually been running really well recently. Not too rough and really fun. TPW also enjoyed it
@@ThemeParkOgre I agree . I really enjoy GCer . and I only just realised GCer is actually taller then Steal Taipan. heck its the 3rd tallest operating coaster in Australia.

Australia is honestly higher on my personal bucket-list then like japan. just as a country it seems like such a cool place and it peeks my interest. I think my favorite way of exploring a place is by just driving around, so if I ever go, looks like I will have to get used to driving on the left for a short amount of time lol. oh also great video lol. keep up the good work guys!

you guys have to revisit once all the refurb is complete, new management have taken over with the old MovieWorld CEO as the new Dreamworld CEO (who was behind the creation of DC Rivals) and they are about to transform the park :)

This park actually looks incredible. I hope this park does well under new management despite how mainstream the accident is in Australia. Glad to see it under new ownership. I love the scenery and their new additions more than make up for losing Tower of terror. This place is on my bucket list.

I was really looking forward to this episode! Dreamworld did have it's ups and downs in the past few years but with great management lately Dreamworld is starting to be going into their golden days again, the first time I visited this park was 2004 and it was way different than it is now, the best attraction of all of course had to be Kangaroos and Koalas haha! They now have bilbies in the park too recently as their new dark habitat just opened.
My last visit to Dreamworld was October 2019 when Steel Taipan's space was empty, I plan to go back this September!
I miss Dreamworld but I can't bring myself to trust it again just yet

I remember going here back when I was very young, not quite sure how long. I remember riding (and enjoying) Escape from Madagascar (the hang&bang), Motocoaster and being absolutely terrified of hot wheels sidewinder (gold coaster). I was too young to ride Tower of Terror or Buzzsaw, but I did get on the infamous Thunder River Rappids. And as young and (kinda dumb), I enjoyed the wiggles world, even though the cast has changed a lot.

so sad they have recently closed many of their thrill rides like Buzzsaw, Tower of terror, Wipeout, Rocky hollow log ride and my favourite big red car ride.
gold coaster was originally built for luna park Sydney which kinda explains the weird layout
Don’t know if they still do it but there’s a theatre near the end of the park which used to be trolls themed that did a magic show
Kangaroos at Dreamworld are like geese in New Jersey. So common!
The Chinese part used to be dream works themed, shrek Madagascar and kung fu panda stuff

KidZone at Universal Orlando is heavily rumored to be a Dreamworks area, and a whole targeted-to-kids park in Texas likely going to be half Dreamworks/half Illumination? I'm not sure when the Dreamworks theming at Dreamworld left, but that's very interesting timing..
yeah dreamworlds lease ran out and dreamworks didn't want to re-lease the licence. probably because of the Texas park

@CoasterStudios it honestly makes the ride. I found it rather tame. Add the spinning seat and it takes it to a complete other dimension.
Wusup guys. I would love to become a major coaster enthusiast and start learning more about everything, I love everything about theme parks and would like to start traveling like y’all and experiencing everything! If there are any jobs on the spot for coaster studious then I’m also up for it.😂

If you have never seen Outsiders its a much movie.
After the deaths of four people on the river rapids ride that was found to have been caused by negligence on the part of the park I have not been able to bring myself to go back to Dreamworld since. If their negligence can lead to the deaths of four people on a river rapids ride it makes you wonder what the safety is like on their bigger rides. Maybe one day
Bro that’s because that’s a ride made by dreamworld after that incident all the theme parks on the Gold Coast got freaked out and removed their rides made by them
@@sadcat12 They made the ride and they were found to be at fault. If it wasn’t for their negligence four peoples wouldn’t have died. They did all sorts of shady things on that ride to cause the incident that day such as removing one of every two slats on the two slats on the ride to decrease the cost of maintenance. There was also no nearby emergency stop button for the ride
@@sadcat12 the warning had also gone off twice that day for the ride that suggested it should be shut down for the day but they decided to keep running it anyway
One of my home parks, finally!
Sucks about the spinning seat. The ride is kinda Average without it IMO. Can finally gauge what you consider fun, thrilling or rough against some rides I've ridden.
Know it's not normally your bag, but a dive into what might have been RMC'ing the bulldozed massive wooden coasters that Wonderland in Sydney used to have would make my day.
Does the sky voyager foyer still inexplicitly smell like someone took a leak in the corner?
I'd take the front seat of our old hang and bang at Movieworld over The Goldcoaster all day long. That thing feels like it's rolling over cogs or something, even with the new trains.
