@16:22 I’m fairly sure the everflowing chalice would’ve been countered by the other chalice here, since kicker doesn’t add to the cmc, it’s not an x spell like chalice of the void is.
Thought lash is not jank. It's a solid hard to answer wincon with oracle. Dispel and mental misstep and flusterstorm are all dead against lash/oracle to name a few. You can also play your combo with protection from destiny spinner. Simic makes big mana. Don't sleep on lash/oracle
Holy cow, I just realized you were Utah folks! I designed Game Grid's logo years ago when they started branding and am friends with the franchise owner folks! If you ever do stuff in person and need more for cEDH or whatever power level, I am up near Ogden and driving to Lehi is no big thing. Great video!
Chalice of the void says you can’t cast spells worth converted mana cost 0. So I could cast all the spells that have a cmc of 1 or higher first. I’d eventually be able to bounce the chalice and cast any zero cost spells at that point.
He didn't have to, it's not an ETB trigger. Returning a forest to your hand is the cost to activate Quirion Ranger's ability to "Untap target creature". He didn't use that ability, so there is no reason he should have returned a forest to hand.
Carlos, i think the everflowing chalice should have been countered with the chalice of the void during game 2. I liked this video so much I'm watching it a second time, haha
I think each power level has its go to win conditions. Thassa’s is just so hard to interact with so it is a go to in an interaction heavy format. Prosper is a blast too.
I didn't think that I'd see Thought Lash in a cEDH game. Seeing janky cards like that gives me hope for my Land Equilibrium stax deck. Also that Prosper Doomsday was epic!
Ya thassa is totally fine in cedh in my opinion. Anything goes haha. I don’t play cedh but would love to get a proxy deck or set up ObS in order to play some games cedh level. I love the interactions that are possible. Cedh tv loves to use cephalid coliseum (I think that’s the card) to stop a thassa trigger haha
You mentioned you don't get people not liking thassa's oracle wins. I think it comes down to 80%+ of cEDH games seem to win with the card. If you are consuming a lot of cEDH content, then it does just becomes monotonous. It's not that people don't appreciate the value of it, just variety is nice. I agree, the win is much better with a janky cumulative upkeep card from ice age, haha.
Could be wrong but kicker doesn't affect CMC so wouldn't everflowing chalice be countered by chalice of the void? Guess there is such a thing as best chalice in magic.
I think you are right. X spells have a cmc of whatever the total cost is paid while it’s on the stack but this is kicker and not technically an x spell. Shoot!
Great games. And about your comment in the middle Carlos. Playing cEDH against Thassa O is ok. Just watching it every game is really boring. It is nice to see new lines of winning.
It’s true. Having said that it feels like the cedh community always finds the best way of winning and uses that when possible. It was flash hulk, hullbreacher wheels, now Thassas oracle/ consultation. I could be wrong and getting rid of Thoracle could be good or it could be just passing the hot potato.
Whoever doesn't like Thoracle wins needs to go back to casual. "I'm sorry for playing the most competitive wincon in a competitive format." LOL Don't hate the players for playing it, hate on R&D for the design of the card.
Hey, me again. You guys have come a long way, started out with some sloppy game play in your earlier cedh vids, but I'm very happy to see some clean games here (minus missing the chalice on 0 but anyone coulda missed that) keep up the great work and I look forward future games.
@@KingdomsTV sorry for thinking you would remember me. 2 weeks ago you told me to find content elsewhere because I made a comment about countless missed triggers and game rules violations.
@@KingdomsTV I didn't see it as an insult. In the earlier games on the channel the games were a bit sloppy yes but the growth over the last few weeks has been huge. I'm glad I didn't take ur advice and look elsewhere.
Hey, all's fair in cEDH, including my deck explicitly designed to get frustration out of my opponents unless they just throw a pile of removal at me, at which point I've served my purpose and still wildly affected the course of the game, even if I never get to use my Commander. I run Turbo Rule and a mountain of removal, and can use my Commander to generate value (possibly removal) every turn, so I'm not kidding when I say the deck is designed to frustrate. Thassa's Oracle isn't annoying, Teferi's Puzzle Box, Necropotence and anything that fiddles with card draw, IE Chains of Mephistopheles, that's more or less 'nobody else has cards but me', which is relatively slow, painful death compared to a quick and but stinging Oracle win. If my Rock Salt deck has a place (it's a karaoke cEDH deck, trying to find references/connections, stretching as needed, nice to add a bit of Vorthos to cEDH).
Happy Birthday Cal!!!
HBD Cal!
Woo more content
Forever content!
@16:22 I’m fairly sure the everflowing chalice would’ve been countered by the other chalice here, since kicker doesn’t add to the cmc, it’s not an x spell like chalice of the void is.
Ya I think this is correct. Kicker is different than an x spell. Everflowing chalices cmc is always 0 no matter how many times it’s kicked. Shoot!
If not janky, fallow.
@@KingdomsTV perhaps. It's in the GAAIV list on the database though. I've won with it a lot in Grolnok. Need those permanents for Kermit!
Doomsday is library and graveyard
Who needs more than 5 cards really?
Pointed it out because Cal searched and exiled the library only
@@slippyminaj Oh you mean exiling the graveyard too? Gotcha
@@KingdomsTV yeah. It didn't matter for this game, but that's something to look out for

Thank you for having me it was a great time :-)!!!
You were great and anytime!
Good games! I really like your smooth and relaxed delivery. Keep up the good stuff! Also I think you have the best teeth in cEDH rn.
Some call it boring, but I’m glad you like it! 😁
Love Urza! He's a super fun commander
We barely got there!
Hey Carlos! In the last game Jeff had a chalice of the void for 0. Therefore u couldn’t have cast ur deck for free. Just thought u should know!
Mike
Chalice of the void says you can’t cast spells worth converted mana cost 0. So I could cast all the spells that have a cmc of 1 or higher first. I’d eventually be able to bounce the chalice and cast any zero cost spells at that point.
@@KingdomsTV I was just thinking all the spells u cast would’ve been 0 cuz they’re free with his ability
Second mouse always gets the cheese in CEDH. Great video!
This was third or fourth mouse, haha!
In 2nd game when Jeff played quirion ranger I don't think he returned forest to hand
He didn't have to, it's not an ETB trigger. Returning a forest to your hand is the cost to activate Quirion Ranger's ability to "Untap target creature". He didn't use that ability, so there is no reason he should have returned a forest to hand.

shouldnt void mirror counter noxious? i mean he used life not colored mana in the first game
