I'm in northern Louisiana, lawn is bermuda grass on poor hard clay. Once per season (early in the season) I have put down Greene Effect only at 16 oz per thousand in the evening and did not water it in until next day. Results were great and maybe not quite as dark as double dark, with excellent growth. Just putting this idea out there in case anyone wants to try just one product. I have been a totally satisfied N-Ext customer for five years (RGS, Greene Effect, Flora Greene, Micro Greene, Humic 12).
That's fantastic! I'm glad it's worked out for you. Thank you for watching.
Great video. I have had great success by applying the 7 0 0 Greene Effect with T Nex PGR Via a Sprayers Plus backpack sprayer. Let it sit on the blades for an hour. Then come back the next day with the 0 0 2 Microgreene with a hose end sprayer.
Crystal Clear! (I blame Jake for any confusion over this cocktail)
HAHAHA!
Me too!!!
I'll go with the 👎 to keep this pg 😉😂
@@JakeTheLawnKid Hahaha! Jake, you’re a cool kat!
Dang. Jake, meet bus. You'll see the tread marks on your back.
GREAT video Chuck! Finally something I can just reference people to when they ask. Well done bud. 👍🏻😁
You're killing it Chuck! I was actually wondering about this earlier this month. Thanks for the info as usual!
Thank you for the clarification.
Good stuff! Crystal clear
Great video and fantastic application directions! The lawn looks fantastic!
Great info and clarification for the community Chuck. 👊😎🌴🇺🇸
Thank you sir!
Just subbed! I can’t wait to put this combo down.
I have been trying to figure this out for 3 days
Hopefully this helped.
We need a video with Green Punch and Micro Green.
What would you like to know? These can be used together and depending on the application method, you can apply them together.
It’s been a while but I’d really like a video on the proper nozzles to use. I’ve tried some flood tips but the product comes out to fast so I have uneven coverage, you mentioned a aero tip for the Microgreen. What tip would work well for the folar coverage? I’m guessing a fine mist with a surfactant. Just one of your short videos for recommended tips. Also remember that not all of us can trot across the lawn. I get my exercise hauling a 2 gallon sprayer and after 2000 sqft I’m exhausted. I walk with a cane normally so it’s more of a stroll across the lawn rather than a double time March.
Here is a video Allyn Hane did on the various tips. For foliar applications, using a fan tip will get you a good mist that will sit on the blades. Air Induction works best for soil applications. ua-cam.com/video/H1c__Q_joBI/v-deo.html
Thanks for the info. Just starting the Lawn care journey myself. Is this app good for a fall app - Im in FL with St Aug - soil temps are 68-72 - From what Ive researched Im getting ready to use the Yard Mastery Stress blend to keep the Nitrogen levels low thru spring - however I have a few bare spots that I would like to fill in but I know that may not happen till spring. Thanks for the info!!
So i have 2 questions about this cocktail. 1 what setting should i have my ortho be at ? 2. Being is the northeast when is a no go time to apply this? Thank you
The Ortho setting is dependant on your walking pace. Chuck uses 2.5 oz. Depending on your daytime temps, don't apply when it's super hot.
Awesome video!! I just applied the double dark cocktail per Jake's instructions, on Monday 7/18 of this year. Can you tell me how long I would need to wait before applying the 7-0-0 GreenEfect and the 0-0-2 MicroGreene to keep the lawn green?
Don't go too crazy, but every 6 weeks should be fine.
So using the yard mastery battery spray which I just ordered. 😊How much product can I put in and how much water goes in for 10 SQ ft? Very expensive battery sprayer. Thanks
How big is the sprayer? Four gallons? If so, 4 gallons of water. The application rates are per 1,000 square feet.
If using a pump sprayer to apply double dark, can I also throw tenacity in the mix?
I wouldn’t recommend it.
So with this entire line of products is it necessary to water after application or can you just apply and wait until it rains whether it be 1 week or even 2 after application? I’m trying to find equipment and a product line to use I’m wanting to experiment and test waters fertilizing, weed control, aeration and over seeding as a side business. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated
I have been doing the biostim pack and 18-0-1 for N. Lawn is getting about 2"/week in this South Dakota 90+ early summer heat. The lawn looks 1/2 as nice as past years when using a granular for N. What's the deal?
2” of water? That’s a lot.
If you do double dark in ortho what settings and how much to pour both in 32oz ortho?
The setting is up to your walking speed. 3.5 is a good starting point. The amounts of product depend on your lawn size. 6oz per 1,000 sqft of GreeneEffect and 9oz per 1,000 of MicroGreene
On the ortho spray which spray nozzle do you guys prefer when spraying?
This is Chuck. I prefer the shower. It gives better droplets for getting product down to the soil.
Thanks for replying Chuck. I'll give it a try next time I spray.
Will it work with out watering?
It can, but if you follow the instructions in this video, you'll have best success.
Only thing is, every time I use the Ortho to mix anything it clogs. Any tips? I hate that thing
Do you top off the Ortho with water? That may help. Run water through it before adding product to try and clean it out.
@@NExtDIYLawn will try that- thank you!
Bro....should prolly put some 2,4-D down for that clover
Do you have clovers in your yard😂
Not anymore
Dude. How do you have a DIY lawn care channel and have a yard full of bindweed? 🤔
Lol
It’s clover. A lot of it. Good thing I took care of it since the b-roll was filmed back in May. We just moved to the house back in late October. So for just 10 weeks of work, with an April overseed, It’s looking way better. That’s what my channel focuses on, the journey of turning the lawn around. You should check it out if you’d like.
@@DaddingAllDay I’m just giving you a hard time. None of us have the “perfect lawn”. Especially to our own standards. We, as OCD DIY’ers, our yards will never be perfect. We are our own worst critics lol even tho my neighbors think my lawn is prestine, I still think there’s spaces needing improvement 😂
@@hauntedutah I just have fun with the journey. Too bad being impatient doesn’t work with lawn care. It’s a lot of waiting! Lol!!
@@DaddingAllDay yep. You n me both. If I’m not spraying any of the N-Ext bio’s down at least once a week, I feel like I’m slacking off and neglecting my lawn haha
I'm confused. You say that you fill your Ortho Dial N Spray to the top with water. Is that after you add the product to the sprayer, and regardless of how much product you put into the sprayer?
Put the desired about of product, do not exceed the label rates, then top it off with water. It will help with dilution, and keep things flowing through the Ortho.
I do quad dark. GE+MG+GP+chIron
I let that shit sit for 18-24 hours then water it in. Nothing but fantastic results. Your turf might be more sensitive but with the low rates I would image most could be far less careful with this mix and be fine.
Laud and clear.
