I love this stuff. I"m in northern Louisiana with poor soil. I put down 12 oz per thousand, once per season early in the season when it's cooler, via backpack sprayer with great results. Then one more time later in the season at 10 oz per thousand. Rest of the nitrogen I need comes from Anderson's granular post emergent (21-0-10 I think) also twice a season when the soil temp hits 55-ish.
Tip , put on yellow safety glasses from stihl company , you can see turf damage sooner then naked eye , amazing no joke
Great stuff in that little Jar !
Green Effect! I am quite envious of your beautiful lawn, sir. Mine is heat stressed and gone dormant. Praying for rain and cooler temperatures! 🙌🏼
Greetings from Michigan! Nice work.
Yards looking great Mr Ferguson!
Thanks man!
Fall like weather can't get here fast enough! Great vid!
I know it, I can't wait. I can feel it a little in the mornings now. It's closer!
Salutations from Wisconsin, yard is looking good Mr. Ferguson 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Ryan! Appreciate it
I’m going to have to try this product. In my opinion, your yard would look great with a split rail fence between you and neighbors!
Good choice
Have a great one Mike!
Amazing product.. I could tell a difference in the color the camera does show a difference. Press on in the good work sir 👍
It does, but not as much as in person. Thanks David!
I can still see the "pop" over here and it certainly darkened your turf up in comparison with your neighbor. My soil test should be here tomorrow. It won't be anything to "brag" about, but it will give me a starting point for my fall blitz.
Just got my tests today! Thanks friendly neighborhood Mr Kevin!
Looks Great!
What spray tip were you using?
Spraying it with the backpack sprayer is the way to go, it really helps if you have high PH soil. It absorbs it through the blades, whereas if you hose end it, it needs to go through the soil, with dubious results. Also, you should spray those arborvitaes with it, mine responded with massive & healthy growth!
Totally agree. I tried it once through hose end sprayer out of laziness and saw no difference, but really nice results with backpack sprayer and lay it on heavy. Also I spray it evening to let it sit on the grass blades all night. Man are we obsessed about our lawns lol.
How often during the year can this b done? Looks awesome!
Many I would think lol. Soil test! You’d want to look at iron levels but otherwise, it can be used year round.
Money green!!
Yep, indeed
Mr Ferguson, great video on 7-0-1 Greene Effect. What nozzles are you using on your back pack sprayer?
GCI nozzles specifically made for Flowzone. You can find them on his website. bit.ly/3DUUCIc
Can you mix torocity ,Greene, pop rgs all together??? Tnx
Do a sample mix in a bucket to make sure nothing crazy happens, but likely, yes.
is this better or the same as Southern Ag Chelated Liquid Iron? I have a few brown spots kinda looks like its coming back would this help with the darker green? I also fertilzed about 2 weeks ago then 3 days ago put Essential Plus 1-0-1 to help it out a bit and it seems like its working? Just want it to be a little more green if possible but i also don't want to stress out the grass since my grass is still only 4ish months old. I'm still very new to all this and it's getting addicting LOL Wish the flowzone sprayers weren't sold out =[ Your gras is looking lush! keep it up!
Sounds similar yes. It won’t help with brown spots though, water is likely needed there. This helps add color and not a lot of growing.
@@MrFergusonLawn thanks for the info!
Did you ever dial in what was causing the white tips after mowing? I've been battling it all year long
I haven’t. I mow the least I can and that’s that. I’m honestly not sure. Do need to sharpen the blades soon though.
What are your gloves you wearing ?
Something I picked up at Home Depot or Lowes...el cheapo something lol
How long does one app realistically last?
Well it depends on the amount used. Use a little and not long, the more you use the longer. I expect this app to hold it's color for at least 3 weeks or so, but it slow l fades out so...not 100% sure but roughly several weeks depending on amount used.
@@MrFergusonLawn thank you.
4-5 weeks for me but I put it down heavy (12 oz per thousand once in spring, 10 oz one more time later) but TBH I've never put it down more than twice a year as the Anderson's weed/feed granular post emergent product I use has plenty of nitrogen already. I could see putting this down at 8 oz/thousand for three or four times a season. Good luck.
Better results with Scott’s granular fertilizer product. Also less mess and faster/easier application.
Scott makes a 7-0-0 with 6% iron? I disagree but it’s your lawn, have at it as you please! Thanks for watching David.
Scott’s makes a great 11-2-2 fert (family & pet friendly). Don’t need iron when a product has quality ingredients. Keep making test videos with your lawn. Love watching UA-camrs trying new products for video content.
well i have to respectfully disagree with how green iron makes your lawn. About 6 weeks ago I applied Double Dark granular fertilizer which has high iron. I'd have to say that after 2 plus weeks of waiting i noticed no change. So about 2 weeks i did a foliar spray application of the NE-XT liquid double dark cocktail of Green effect and Microgreen. I have yet to see any noticeable change in my grass color. Maybe its my grass which is KBG in the very sunny front yard. In the backyard i have shade tolerant fescue that looks very green but again it was like that before i applied the granular / liquid treatments. So i probably wont be using any of these high iron fertilizers (liquid or Granular) in my regular fertilization/watering/mowing regimen which i think are the best way to go unless you are absolutely obsessed by lawn color.
Yeah, it's probably not a cure-all for every situation. You may need to do a soil test for PH level as he recommends. IMO, PH plays a more important role than we pay attention to. Just a suggestion, good luck.
@@CaptainQueue i did have a soil test last fall and the PH was just 0.1 low at 5.7. My iron was low. K and Phos were low but i've been correcting that with my fert applications. i dont think the PH was a huge issue for what it tested.
i think i've seen way too many videos of content creators singing the praises of iron but virtually none have listed any qualifiers that need to be satisfied prior to application. i could see your results and they looked great. i think i was expecting a better result with my front yard KBG. I just did not get the pop. I was not expecting much from the fescue as it was already very green in the shade areas. at the end of the day my law looks very good but the results were not worth the time and $$$
Show us three days from now. Be interesting
Well that would be yesterday haha. It’s even darker to me. 🙌🏼
@@MrFergusonLawn so what happens to the color after you mow or if it rains,? How about in two weeks. Does this dark color stay or fade away. Might as well apply double dark granulated fertilizer?
Will you be dethaching this September or October? Plus overseeding?
My iron came out high also at one point. I have a bottle of chelated Iron that I mix with my liquid fertilizers because I like to control how much iron I put. When I found out it was high, I stop putting it for a bit. I did another soil test 3 months later, and it was down by a whole point. So when a nutrient is high, I believe we can stop just for a couple of months the go back to it if needed. Just wanted to share that for reference
Absolutely!
