You can get a 1” extended circular box to bump that camera electrical outlet out more, for like 3 bucks from Home Depot….that way you don’t have to mount it “ flush and caulking”…
Have you had any issues with the motion not picking up everything within the 30ft range? My ring camera picks up everything but my two spotlight cam pros suck! I have called ring twice to help adjust and troubleshoot but I already have all the settings checked correctly. The only thing they told me to do was move it up about a foot higher and adjust the angle. Still nothing! I bought these two spotlight cam pros to catch who keeps pooping in my yard, not humans. Sad! 😂 I’m thinking about retuning it and going with a different brand.
it's not hardwire if it's not POE. as for power going out and wifi going out, you can have your router plugged into a battery backup and often the ISP is still working.
So the wired version comes with a battery also? What's the difference between battery & wired version of the product? Kinda confused. Thanks in advance.
They aren't different cameras, and it is not a battery backup. If you have the ability to use the hardwired version, you just don't have to get on a ladder every six months to change the battery. The solar, plug-in, and hardwired versions essentially add on chargers to the same base camera.
It's not really a battery backup. They are battery-powered cameras to be installed where you don't have power. The plug-in, hardwired, and solar versions just charge the battery, so you don't have to physically change it. Depending on how bad the power outage is. Even if you do have power to your modem and router, you may not have internet. Unless you have Poe cameras and an on-site server. All would need to be hooked up to uninterruptible power supplies. There's is still a weak link in this type of setup. Whoever you're trying to record can access, you're on site data storage.

Maybe put the camera higher because if there is a crime being committed they will just break the camera. There goes your evidence to the police.
Thanc you for this easy to follow tutorial. This helps a lot in my choice of RING cameras for my soon to be new house.
Excellent explanation of how to. Thanks!!

Battery uses PIR detection. Wired detects motion and people based on what the camera actually sees
Take a shot everytime he says ‘this’ or ‘that’ 😂
Doesn't work if the power goes out and your wifi router is not working
Mickey Mouse 🐭 Security Camera👍🏻✨
Now you can keep an eye on the children and the not wanted. 👍😂
THATS THE WORSE GADGET YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT APART TO CHARGE IT WHAT IF RAINING SNOWING ? Why not solar charging one ?
All people that buy Ring cameras have to check because you have to pay monthly not 24/7 be careful
Power goes out WiFi out at least that’s how mine works

Good point...
Your Internet access gear should also have a battery backup.

Ring is garbage.
