      I use the fallout one as a coaster daily. Great design! I think they turned out pretty cool with the different finishes from the build plates as well. Nice to connect with you on here on youtube.

    Did the try glue stick you mentioned ? 5:21

      I have used the liquid glue stick (Bambu lab) and it has worked fairly well. Doesn’t affect the texture / pattern either.

      I've used the bamblulabs adhesive, once you rinse it off the print the transfer goes away

    I purchased the Carbon fiber, I thought it would be a neat bonus in RC car part prints, and if I'm honest I'm glad I didn't spend much on the plate. I've washed it with dawn, then hit it with 97% alcohol on a micro fiber, P1S with Bambu PLA and it just doesn't play well with my printer. I've tried a couple of brands, best results were with Hatchbox.

      I have had similar experiences the carbon seems to be the hardest to work with for me as well. Same deal with different filament brands. Voxels pla and petg seem to work better than bambu with the carbon. Darker colors also show the pattern better too!

    Thank you so much, I didn’t really understand how I could stop the x1c from telling me didn’t recognise plate 🙏🙌

    Bambulab has released their own version consists of 1 steel sheet and 4 stickers of several patterns. They mention that you have to choose textured pei on bambu studio. I believe it applies closer z ofset that way so that parts can stick to build plate easier. My aliexpress order is on the way so i didn't have the chance to try it myself yet to find out which build plate choice performs better in terms of adhession and pattern transfer.

      I have not purchased the Bambu sheets yet. Honestly I wasn't fond of the idea of having just the one plate for the 4 different patterns. I wish they would of pre-applied them. Let me know how your aliexpress sheets work, and which ones you went with!

      @@ThePrintasaurus That's exactly why I gone with the aliexpress preapplied build plates instead of bambulab's even though those were more expensive after taxes my country applies to China. I just wanted to mention that you've tested build plates with smooth pei setting on Bambu studio. I've seen bambulab build plate tutorial videos that they choose textured pei setting on Bambu Studio for their version of pattern plates. I will try it myself once I receive the plates to see if that setting makes any difference.

    Big shout out to you, I couldn't get the first layer to stick, because whenever it alarmed it couldn't detect the code. it would lose its mind and print all crazy. thanks for showing how to turn that ish off!

    Ahhh turn off build plate position detection. I was wondering why every time I print with the generic plates it gives me an error. Something about not being able to scan the plate. Is that what that’s for?

    • @ThePrintasaurus
      @ThePrintasaurus  Місяць тому

      Yup. The idea behind that is to prevent you from printing without a build plate - it does happen lol. Just remember if you disable it to check you have a plate in your printer and it re-enables when you do printer firmware updates, so you'll have to disable again.

    Pax River?! 😊 Nice to know I’m not the only one 3d printing in the area. 😅. Great video! I just ordered a PEY Galaxy plate that’ll be here today.

      Yes! Good eye. I didn't realize I had a vx-23 shirt on. Thanks for watching. I've had a lot of fun with the new plates that have been coming out. I plan to revisit this video with some updates. Great time to be 3d printing and nice to know someone else local is doing it!

    I noticed you have 5 colors selected. I have an A1 with the AMS lite. Just curious how you got 5 colors into the mix?

    • @ThePrintasaurus
      @ThePrintasaurus  6 місяців тому +2

      I used my X1c which has 2 ams units hooked up to print the coasters this allows me to print up to 8 colors. You could explore manual color changes if your looking to do more than 4 colors - ams lite only allows 4. I can work on a how to video in the next few weeks on manual color changes if it would be helpful!

      @@ThePrintasaurus Appreciate the response. Since my comment I also discovered that I can put pauses into a print at specific print levels and swap the filament out to the next needed color. I really havent had to print that many colors yet, but I was just curious how to do it, if needed.

    • @ThePrintasaurus
      @ThePrintasaurus  6 місяців тому +1

      @@roundabout2926 That is exactly how you do it. You can program your color changes, and swap colors as needed. Takes a bit of time but worth the effort for something you want multicolor! I will do a video on the process coming up, and hopefully that helps you if you need it!

    The Fallout coasters look fantastic! I also thought it was really cool how the patterns on the plates showed on some the prints. Quick question: For better adhesion, aside from cleaning the plates with dish soap frequently and the glue stick, have you discovered any other tricks/hacks that helped?

    • @ThePrintasaurus
      @ThePrintasaurus  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for the support. To answer your questions. Yes there are a number of more in depth ways to improve adhesion. Bed leveling plays a factor into both first layer quality and adhesion. Adjusting your Z-offset may sometimes be needed if your printer needs some fine tuning. Printing with a brim helps if your using material (Filament) that dries fast, this helps to prevent the filament from pulling itself of the build plate. Also your bed temperature plays a part as well. Raising your bed temperature can promote better adhesion. This video I wanted to keep things simple to see if the plates were useful using basic / default print settings.

    Just get G2 pcb substrate with no copper on it. Cheap and works very well and light. So printer can work faster.
