  • Should I Turn Off Parked Cores
How to disable CPU core parking Windows 10? So you have been told that disabling core parking can optimize PC for gaming and boost FPS? well I have not seen any major improvement in pc performance when testing years ago, but if their is a improvement, it will be marginal in my opinion. What is parked CPU? it makes your processors go into a sleep state known as (C6) which lets the pc or laptop save power. By disabling CPU parking, this will use more battery life. Cores will unpark when needed.

Brian could you do a video regarding HDR support in Windows 10? How to enable it, gpu drivers settings, registry settings (if any), which cable to use (stock that came with the monitor or aftermarket), HDMI or DP (which is better) and finally how to fix the flickering issue with HDR enabled while playing games! Thank you in advance!

making sure all the cores are unparked is the very most important tweak you can do on a PC that is used for Audio Production. It quite literally means the difference between smooth audio from VST's or constant crackles, pops and distortion.

It'd help if you listed your hardware. It's always suspicious when people say things and don't list their hardware.
Makes no difference on a 5900x Edit: On Windows 11 Pro btw.

I don't like the idea of just letting one core do all the work, is it possible to let the other cores share the work load? I know it might sound like a funny question, I'm just interested in finding out the benefits of having multiple cores. Everyone says if you play videogames, stick with something simple.

I have a couple of thoughts about video:
    1. To see all logical processors no need to open resources monitor. It can be done by righ mouse button click on cpu utilization graph in task manager and choose "logical processors"
    2. ive tried to get max boost clock on my i3 12100, but bios settings such different power limits didn't give some significant difference. But when i turn on core parking, boost clocks at 4.3 became much more frequently. Maybe it is so beacause when core is parked cpu power consumption is lower, so working cores can have more power headroom.

With Park Control (Bitsum) or Quick CPU (coderbag) you can easily set the parking percentage - if I recall, the default is 25% unparked, I set it to 50% on my old Phenom 2 X4 after watching the stats and seeing it rarely had less than 2 cores active.

I find that the only performance mod that helps with my i9 9900k is to go into my bios and disable hyperthreading. This improves FPS performance a bit with all my flight sims and the cpu runs a bit cooler as well. Also, fewer stutters, esp. in VR. Simple and easy to do (or undo). Power plans help but the high performance plan seems to work as well for me as Ultimate.

... you know that you can't just add (or import) a new power profile and have it make any difference, right?
These days, Windows is hiding all these settings and it takes several registry edits to unhide them. I'm talking about how most of the settings on the "Advanced Power Settings" panel are missing in Win11 and these are the settings that you must make different between your Balanced and Performance plans. All this video did was demonstrate your misunderstanding of Windows Power Plans.

You quickly can see this Video was made by someone with a lack of knowledge when he tells you to reboot your system to apply the parking settings. This is nonsense as you don't need to reboot for this setting to become applied.
And he's proving even more lack of knowledge when he tells you that "most games only use a single core". This has been heavily wrong since around 2007, ffs.
