- Should I Turn Off Parked Cores
How to disable CPU core parking Windows 10? So you have been told that disabling core parking can optimize PC for gaming and boost FPS? well I have not seen any major improvement in pc performance when testing years ago, but if their is a improvement, it will be marginal in my opinion. What is parked CPU? it makes your processors go into a sleep state known as (C6) which lets the pc or laptop save power. By disabling CPU parking, this will use more battery life. Cores will unpark when needed.

Do you disable parked cores? chuck us a LIKE 👍
Not
Never tried doing it, but the video above is definitely informative.
I lost interest in Windows. Now for years I've using a Chromebook. No problems anymore.
Seems to me you can dedicate cores to a process or executable. But just leave them unparked
Should I parked my clu ryzen 9 5950x 16core
Hadn't heard of parking CPU cores before, only hard drives. Glad to have learned something new from you again!
Happy to help!
Before you unpark your cores, make certain you have a valid driver's license.
VMware wants more, of course. Nice Video. Thank You. You are always 'Spot-On'. PS: I put Laptop on 4 Bottle Caps to keep bottom clear and Vacuum weekly to keep cool (Core i7), Balanced usually.
Brian could you do a video regarding HDR support in Windows 10? How to enable it, gpu drivers settings, registry settings (if any), which cable to use (stock that came with the monitor or aftermarket), HDMI or DP (which is better) and finally how to fix the flickering issue with HDR enabled while playing games! Thank you in advance!
making sure all the cores are unparked is the very most important tweak you can do on a PC that is used for Audio Production. It quite literally means the difference between smooth audio from VST's or constant crackles, pops and distortion.
Thanks man, I thought this. 12-13-22
U don't even need an app for unparking cores. U can easily unpack cores in system configuration.
It'd help if you listed your hardware. It's always suspicious when people say things and don't list their hardware.
Makes no difference on a 5900x Edit: On Windows 11 Pro btw.
Does this affect gaming I’ve been switching from 50-100. It’s like 100 is better sometimes but then I get stutters and have to drop it
Thanks!
Helped me alot with this and yes i learnt a lot from you
Thanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much
You're welcome!
I'm using i5 8600k overclocked to 5.1 ghz water-cooled all cores unlocked awesome performance in latest games and my graphic design rendering is alot faster. Good video once again.
Thanks
On older 4/5th gen cpu.s going back to duel core cpu,s with heavy startups (AKA) programs/apps, without SSD,s and 8g ram or under. Did help with with cold boot time. Helped more on laptops less on desktops. Still boot time only. Now days 16g ram/ssd,s no point for me
My 2021 Razer Blade Advanced does not come with Core Parking. Should I do a regedit and enable core parking? I would like to have one power plan with core parking to lower temps and increase battery life.
I don't like the idea of just letting one core do all the work, is it possible to let the other cores share the work load? I know it might sound like a funny question, I'm just interested in finding out the benefits of having multiple cores. Everyone says if you play videogames, stick with something simple.
Mate my laptop started overheating after unparking my cores and even if I set it back to difult, it still overheats. What should I do
Not something I have ever thought of doing but honestly I'm curious now. May dig the old system out and try it lol
Give it a go.
Which modern day hard-core laptop would you recommend?
Wow that was fast 🙂👍thanks Brian
No problem 👍
I am always reading the comments lol
I have a couple of thoughts about video:
1. To see all logical processors no need to open resources monitor. It can be done by righ mouse button click on cpu utilization graph in task manager and choose "logical processors"
2. ive tried to get max boost clock on my i3 12100, but bios settings such different power limits didn't give some significant difference. But when i turn on core parking, boost clocks at 4.3 became much more frequently. Maybe it is so beacause when core is parked cpu power consumption is lower, so working cores can have more power headroom.
Hello mate can do a video on how to use disk drill please thanks
Interesting, I never heard of this 👍
Hope you like it!
How do I check to see which core game prefers?
you have cores and logical cores for the 2 threads per core on hyperthreaded cpus :)
I unparked them via the registry about half a year ago. worth it for a computer which is now getting up there in age. It really did not seem unstable.
I would say its probably more suitable for old CPUs, did you get any boost? if so, how much?
🏆🏆🏆👍🙏
Thank you for sharing
Thank you too
Hello, i have ryzen 5 5600x I should be parked cores or not. I play csgo only.
What Intel CPU would you consider old enough to think about trying this?
I've never heard of this and can't say there'd ever be a practical reason to use it.
Where can I get your wallpaper?
CPU core performance is variable with respect to its type and versions.
I do use cpu unparcked and it does help i have nvidia 960m and sure it does get 🔥 93°c at some point but i do have a max turbo fan button which cools it down to 65-79°c more or less i guess i do need to add thermal paste it's been now 6 years i think 🤔 dammn
I used quick CPU to unable parking. Processor Intel 9900 k and with X-Plane 11 the frame rate changed by 4 so it did make a difference
Intel 9900 k has parked cores?
CPU Unpark had no effect on my 12th gen Intel on Windows 10. I used CPU Unpark and restarted my PC, and all my cores were parked.
i have never seen parked cores on my machine, I have a Ryzen 7 1700, come to think of it I have never seen cores parking ever. I had no idea it existed until now
That cpu wont be parked.
With Park Control (Bitsum) or Quick CPU (coderbag) you can easily set the parking percentage - if I recall, the default is 25% unparked, I set it to 50% on my old Phenom 2 X4 after watching the stats and seeing it rarely had less than 2 cores active.
Games use 1 core ???? Where have you been for the last few years?
Some legacy games may be highly dependent on single core performance, but anything more recent eats cores and threads for breakfast
You did not hear what I said in video. A lot of games use single core and a some games use multicore, never said game don't use multicore.
I have a dell vostro 15 7500 and I tried to get the ultimate power plan enabled by cmd it works when you run it in cmd no errors but it’s not showing up in additional power settings
Thanks
Try running the Command Prompt as *Administrator* first. Good luck. 👍
@@Dave4000 thanks
Nice
Thanks
With my luck if I would get a citation for parking on the wrong side.
Currently trying anything to boost single core performance for Hogwarts Legacy on my 3900x
Must give it a try with my Cyrix cpu.
"Cyrix" lmfao 🤣
ahah unpack floating before xd
Id be interested to hear what you have to say about Process Lasso if you dont mind doing a little vid.
Not necessary with modenn cpu's and latest win10 imho. Maybe useful for older/poorer cpu's and Win7.
I have an Aspire 5, 11th Gen, i-5; (4 cores, 8 threads). I have my Power Setting on High Performance. The laptop boots in 10 or 11 Seconds. Guess I don't need to bother with un-parking cores. What do you think?
So, on modern CPUs, leaving them unparked is ideal?
its not parked on my CPU Ryzen 3800x you wont need to worry on modern hardware.
Britec09 but why did park core suddenly shown on my laptop that released 8 years after the latest windows 10 20H2 update..it was using intel pentium
👍👍👍
👍
Slight improvement on SOLIDWORKS Simulation
I find that the only performance mod that helps with my i9 9900k is to go into my bios and disable hyperthreading. This improves FPS performance a bit with all my flight sims and the cpu runs a bit cooler as well. Also, fewer stutters, esp. in VR. Simple and easy to do (or undo). Power plans help but the high performance plan seems to work as well for me as Ultimate.
@Mr Anderson My i9 9900k with 5Ghz oc stays the same 5Ghz all the time. At idle it takes less voltage so runs cooler. I've never seen any cores higher than 70degC btw.
@Mr Anderson Water cooled; H150i Platinum. Also, 3x Corsair 120mm front case fans.
I misread the title, thought you were going to do a bit of Parkour, perhaps you can do that in another video. 🤣
not with my knees lol
Yes
None of mine where "parked"
same here
games that use single core? 2004?
some games do and some use multi core
lot of games still use single core even today.
how to stop windows 11 from parking 12900k?
@@ZokaAland yes
@@ZokaAland games looks unsmooth with slight stuttering. I tried to disable E cores it doesn't work well so I'm looking for good fix.
@@ZokaAland c state is big question mark !
I read it's important for intel cpu to function. It's not good if disable cpu won't be able to control task loadout and voltage.
Early today
please publish a video for fix 100% disk usage using a powershell script in every pc
Disk usage could be due to many different factors. It could be something like windows search service indexing, all PCs having a simultaneous backup or many other variables. If there’s a universal method to find, diagnose and fix this by itself, I’d love to find out as well.
@@Jeyxero I've tried almost every method but it's not enough 😔
Brian reveal your face please 😅
I'll pass thank you very much....lol.
I agree
... you know that you can't just add (or import) a new power profile and have it make any difference, right?
These days, Windows is hiding all these settings and it takes several registry edits to unhide them. I'm talking about how most of the settings on the "Advanced Power Settings" panel are missing in Win11 and these are the settings that you must make different between your Balanced and Performance plans. All this video did was demonstrate your misunderstanding of Windows Power Plans.
Do you have a video i can watch what you said?
que honda esto titulo en español que mierdaaa
dang im early
Very early lol
You quickly can see this Video was made by someone with a lack of knowledge when he tells you to reboot your system to apply the parking settings. This is nonsense as you don't need to reboot for this setting to become applied.
And he's proving even more lack of knowledge when he tells you that "most games only use a single core". This has been heavily wrong since around 2007, ffs.
