What do you think is better: two moving spot heads to use as beams or the 5 color laser beams in a staionary unit? This is for basement use. I'd go with 10w moving heads cause I dont like it bright.
It depends on the effect you are looking for, the size of the space, how your controlling them amd personal preference. If you are using dmx you can always dim. If you are using haze more beams will look better... like a laser (in my opinion)
Im a bedroom DJ and host small events with friends. I planing to buy 2 x moving heads but not sure what brand to go with. Looking at 70W Orbit moving heads now. Would you even think about buying this without a DMX controller ??
Hi, thanks for watching. I personally am not a big fan of any of them without using dmx control. I havent used orbits so I cant speak for those. If you do decide to get a pair without using dmx, I would suggest seeing if they offer a slow mode, adjustable sound active and possibly a totem mode or mode to limit movement to 180 or 90 degrees. The movemet limit is the least common. I would also suggest at least having an easy way to turn the lights off and on. Hope this helps.
@@KrisSzanto Thanks for taking your time to answer. Guess i have much more to learn before i buy anything. And i understand that a DMX controller will be handy.
@@theaverageguy3884 Alot of the lights allow you to access auto modes from DMX too. So even if it is a small controller and you know little to start this would allow you to at least turn them off without powering them off which can be beneficial. There are some controllers that are making this easier, but it all depends on how much you want to spend and how much control you want.
Hi! I want to buy 10R beam, but i’m not decide to buy 6 pcs or 4 pcs and 2 pcs this wash. I want to use at the weddings.I see 10R have wash mode. What do you think? Thanks!
Thanks for checking out the video. I would definitely add 2 of these for weddings. I like the 10r, but they are much heavier and produce small, tight images. Personally, I prefer something with larger gobo images for weddings, but that's me.
@CristianSecui I undesrtand. Using the frost filter is ok. But, with these you would have the flexibility of color mixing and zoom. The 10r is a fixed wash size. These would allow you to control the width of the wash where the 10r will not.
@CristianSecui I like your idea of a couple of each. But it all depends how you are using them. Can you use haze? (The beams work best when you can see the beams)
Nice, may have to keep an eye on these. I have some of the other moving head wash lights that you did a video on, but these look like a worthy upgrade.
Thanks for watching. Your fx2s will wash the room better as it provides more varied angles of light. These work pretty well for tall venue spaces, not as well for shorter ones as the light source is all from one location opposed to the different degrees you have with the fx2. Hey... nothing wrong with having both. Lol
Do you turn the power off at the switch when done with show? Or, keep them on black-out fan running for a few minutes to cool the light inside? Or what do you do?
I usually have them on in a static position when the party is over and turn them off when most guests leave or the house lignt are up.. Then switch them off. Never noticed them being hot.
I use to run a small production company and I could never get away with using China lights. Plus they usually have small issues and problems with them. If you're a DJ or someone that doesn't work with production company's, you're probably fine using them for the price. You get what you pay for. I've learned that. I did use some china lasers before but I had to be slick about it.
Thanks for watching. I have used 3 different controllers with these lights. Blizzard Eclipse, Wmx1 and Chauvet Showexpress. Currently using Showexpress and think it will be my only choice.
Question for you. I recently picked up the 160W Spot... I want to mount it ontop of the pole of one of my gravity stands using the M10 pole adapter...but the way the shehds light mounts is with two of those fast omega brackets. (E.g. not a single hole in the middle to mount). Have you had to deal with this and have any solutions?
Thanks for watching. I have not tried this for any lights in a long time. I suppose you could get a thin steel plate at homemdepot and drill 3 holes in it. DiY fun. 🤷♂️

What do you think of the Shehds 275 I’m on the fence for them or the 230 I just can’t tell what’s better about the 230 since it’s slightly more expensive.
Hi, I have a 7r here from another company that I have not tested yet(should be very similar) so I will let you know soon. I have done a video on the 275 and i really like it, but is pretty heavy to be moving around for regular mobile gigs. I am just confused because when I check out the prices the 275 is more expensive than the 230 on their website. Also both currently on sale.
Hey, I wanted to asj for an update on how these lights are holding up? Is the build quality still solid? Any changes or malfunctions with the lights at all?
Thanks for watching the video. I have only had them out about 5 times at this point. (Used them on Friday night) I have been transporting them in the boxes they came in, storing them in my freezing garage and so far, so good.
From a quick look at the specs and price here is what i see. The rx2 tilts more, has multiple ranges which you can limit and 25w leds opposed to 15w. Which all sounds great for someone who wants to use auto modes, needs super bright lights and deeeep pockets. If using dmx and hanging them you can get 8 of the shehds for price of 1 of the rx2s. Or 2 and 2 back up units with plents of money for more lights and a haze machine. Lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. Oh... just got a Shehds 19x2 jms webb big bee eye video coming soon. Really excited about this one!

I have a question for you. I have some Shehds lights (18x18w RGBWA+UV) and here's the problem. If I try to control the strobe via DMX, using a software or a controller it doesn't matter, the light just shut down while the value is being changed. So no way to slowly increase or decrease the strobe, and the strobe has precedence over any other functions. See the problem here? When I try to do animations from a preset that contains strobe to another preset that doesn't, I can't fade from preset A to preset B over a period of time, which has always been possible, even with the cheapest lights. I don't know if I express myself correctly. Does your light act the same way? While you move the strobe slider, the light is like waiting for the value to stop before executing the new strobe speed.
Make a middle-stop cue to bring the strobe channel value to 0, over 1 millisecond. Record all other channel values the same, and then record your fade out/in
Hi, I did have a little flicker that was hardly noticeable on occasion in one of the lights. I sent them a video of what was going on and they diagnosed the problem and sent me a replacement part. Has only happened in 1 of 7 lights. But the problem was so small that I havent event fixed it yet. Lol
