Revan didnt have amnesia. The Jedi Council wiped his memory to use him against Malak. Malak also didnt die on his flagship, the final duel took place on the Star Forge.
I know right. however believe it or not, he was actually going to be canon in one Clone wars episode. they designed him in the clone wars style and shot the scene. But it never made it to animation or to a legit episode. Hope that helped.
Just a backstory here tbh. Some awesome facts would be: 1. One of the very few force users that mastered the force to level of using it in its purest form, dark and light merged together like two rivers joining to form a torrent of rapids. 2. Extremely gifted with languages, droid mechanics (he made HK-47, the deadliest assassin droid in the galaxy), a gifted and legendary strategist and tactician (he took the republic fleet on the verge of utter defeat and obliterated the Mandalorians to the point they hold him in awe). 3. A surprisingly good swoop racer, he won the grand tournament on Taris and continued to race on other planets to win credits for his mission. 4. Highly resistant to torture, not just with not giving up information but turning the tables and manipulating his captor during torture (this happened when he was drugged too) and after that the constant mental battle with the Emperor after his defeat for 300 years until he was freed. 5. Charismatic and a natural born leader, able to bring out the best in people and get them to follow him against their instincts and remain loyal to death.
A true backstory would be how Revan was a True Chosen One, three thousand years before the Shmee Skywalker's immaculate birth moment. He destroyed both orders, and attempted to reform both but was also thwarted by both. The galaxy suffered for thousands of years following his failure.

A common, and kind of credible view of Revan, is that he never really "fell" to the dark side in the typical sense. After the Mandalorian wars, when he discovered the extragalactic threat of the old Sith empire, he knew only a unified galaxy could stand against it, so when he found the Star Forge, he used it as a tool to do a controlled takeover, and accepted the dark side as a necessary evil. He was well aware of the personal power enhancing features of the Forge, but discarded it as he knew the eventual cost, and his conquest was very deliberate and economic, leaving infrastructure intact, so that he wouldn't have to rely on the Forge any longer than necessary. After the betrayal and amnesia, it was clear that Malak's actions and plan would lead to ruin for the galaxy so stopping him and destroying the forge were more immediate threats. I always liked this view, that while the sides of the Force did have an impact, he was not slave to either, and tried to work the long plan where possible. This is why he didn't destroy the helmet of Mandalore, but kept it, in case the clans would need to be unified again some day. I always play him (or her) as ending up on the light side, but not because of personal enlightenment or benefit, but because it was the strongest strategy to take at the time. I would note, that I did not play SWTOR at all, and completely disregard it as a thing that exists or has any effect on anything. KoTOR and TSL for the win.
I didn't say it's "shit" at any point in the comment. I just disliked that it canonized certain aspects of the character and the way he ended up was extremely disappointing. Same for the exile. But that's just how I feel about it, and I don't let TOR ruin my enjoyment of the KoTOR games. Power to whoever liked TOR.
Well, I just used the word ''shit'' to bring my point across. I was just wondering, as I see quite a lot of people who are dissapointed with the handling of Revan in SWTOR. True, I wasn't a big fan of how they portrayed Revan in the expansion, but I generally do like the game and truly want to know peoples opinion of it. How do you view the rest of the game, or have you not really played it that much?
I only played SWTOR for a few hours when it went f2p, and mainly to see how bad it is as a successor. And by bad, I only mean in my particular taste, as I love the real time with tactical pause type rpgs, in the vein of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, as it lets me take my time and queue up commands for the whole party, and I really dislike MMO games, that for genre reasons play entirely differently. I prefer a non-voiced player character, so that I can more easily come up with an inner voice for the character, and I can use that element of imagination to decide tones, inflections accents in my character's lines. I also prefer it because the dialogue wheel doesn't tell you exactly what you're going to say, and is quite often completely different to what you thought it might be. I dislike grinding in a narrative heavy game, and in kotor 1 and 2, you can reach godlike power by just playing the main story, if you're smart with your character build, never feeling obliged to do side content, and only going for it if it's interesting, or fits with your character. Really, it's these combined elements that I love, that made me invested in the characters of Revan and the exile, and specifically how I played them each time I did, so taking them out of the players hands, and giving them fixed aspects that were no longer in line with what you did is why I disliked it so much. As Revan is described in kotor 1 and 2, he/she is a force prodigy comparable to Anakin Skywalker, except that he wasn't prevented from fully realizing his potential like Anakin was, being able to use the Force without restrictions of alignment, so the fact that he was defeated along with the exile by a single Sith lord just pissed all over that. No one in the galaxy should've been able to defeat him one on one at that time, let alone with the exile at his side. Whoah.. wall of text :) sorry..
I know it's no longer the kotor canon but in kotor 2 it was stated that Revan went to war with the republic not to weaken it but instead to strengthen it in opposition to the emperor.

actually it wasn't his force powers that made him so formidable, it was the backdrop ability granted to him by the shadow mass generator, which caused him to inadvertently consume the life force, as well as the living force from anyone and anything around him. if Meetra Surik had never stopped Nihilus, the star wars universe might not ever have existed because he would have consumed the entire universe in due time. since he no longer had a body he didn't have to worry about consuming himself any longer. Nihilus was one of the very few sith that was both immortal, and all powerful. Meetra Surik was the only person to ever exist in star wars that could have defeated him
I feel I need to correct you on Revan's turn to the dark side. In the novel Revan, Revan didn't study the dark side nor was he taught by the Emperor. Instead when he and Malak eventually confronted the Emperor, they were brainwashed and sent back to the Republic as Sith Lords to find out if the time was right for the Empire to fight the Republic. However when they were far enough away from the Emperor's influence they forgot about the orders he had given them and having ever found the hidden Empire, but still believed themselves to be Sith.
Revan: As a young Jedi, I went to war. I accepted violence and darkness and the Emperor called to me from across the galaxy. He made me a Sith Lord and named me Darth Revan. I had to kill for him. I turned on the Republic, but then found redemption. After all the evils I have wrought, all the worlds I have ravaged, all the lives I have destroyed, the Jedi still saw that there was light in me, and that I could be redeemed. If only they knew of the true threat that waited for the Republic in the Dark. I nearly destroyed the Republic, and that nearly destroyed me. I tried to end him, but he murdered my companions and locked me away for three hundred years. Only I have been both Jedi and Sith and found clarity in the Force. Ah yes! My all time favorite Star Wars character. It's going to be interesting to see how he's integrated into the new Canon, since he didn't get to be in Clone Wars like he was supposed to. Great Vid, Just to add some points: 6. It was the Jedi council that wipe Revan mind with the force, and reprogram his fake identity. 7. Revan was allowed to RE-join the Jedi at an older age and made an "exceptional", because the Council secretly wishes to reactivate his force talent to fight Malak. No data suggest when he first join the order prior to the Mandalorian war. 11. Revan could be a female base on the Original Game, Knight of the Old Republic. If you get it.
What was beautiful about the 2 original KOTOR games is that Revan was what you wanted him to be. Revan could be a redeemed Jedi hero and savior, or he could also be the most badass and greatest Sith Lord that reclaimed his empire from the short sighted Malak like I and others wanted him to. The Old Republic took that magic away from the character, we should have gotten the final chapter of the trilogy in a proper KOTOR III and tie up all these loose ends, that were in your hands, the player. But no, let's make a shitty MMO and murder the original KOTOR games.
Revan was without a doubt the most badass character in Star Wars in my opinion. He's pretty much influenced every critical point in star wars history in some way or another. technically when they encountered the real empire and all that and fell to the dark side when they left and started to attack the republic he shook off the cloud over his mind and remembered what happen to him and continued attacking the republic to concur it and unite it to fight the real empire but when malek betrayed him his goals were more destruction oriented like when he bombed taris
I heard much different it was Alec and Revan that faced the Emperor as agents of the light but could not defeat the Emperor who basically brainwashed the two Jedi Knight into becoming Sith. A rare example of someone who did not willingly accept the dark side.
How about the Shan family. The Shan family was a famous Human Jedi family of the Galactic Republic, including Bastila Shan, her parents, Helena Shan and her husband, and her descendants, including Satele Shan and her son Theron.
He's not the only one to return to the light. Darth Vader betrayed the Sith, when he saw the Emperor torturing Luke. He wasnt a complete Jedi, but he realigned himself
I was elated when I found out that Revan was actually technically canon as you see Malachor V in Star Wars Rebels and seeing the damage the Mass Shadow Generator did, since Revan activated that machine, makes him indirectly canon, or "Legends canon" if you will.
Malak adopted his name to go Into hiding to avoid arrest from the Jedi order, not because he turned and revan gave him the name. Also, I think revan adopted his famous name from the Revanchist, given to him for his actions prior to leading his army against the mandalorians. Some info may be off so don't fully quote this

I enjoy anything that involves Revan, he was for me on of the most powerful force users ever, by every account, from dueling to force powers and his thirst for knowledge. If his identify has never been confirmed how can we ultimately deny he was a skywalker? More information on revan would be cool for me.
The Skywalker heritage was started with Anakin. Though Shimi was a Skywalker, she was not the reason Anakin was Force sensitive. That was caused by an experiment of Darth Plagueis, who, in the manipulation of midochlorians, impregnated Shimi with an extremely Force sensitive child. The Skywalker line followed this with Luke and Leia, and, in the old EU, Ben, Cade, etc.

Revan did not believe he needed to learn the dark side to fight the Sith empire when they chased the mandalorians into unknow space they encountered the Sith empire and their minds were broken by the emporer and sent to weaken the republic however when they reached republic space he regained his mind but kept concouring and preserving vital parts of planets in order to provide a united front to the empire but when male betrayed him he just destroyed what ever he wanted and since revan lost his memory because the Jedi council wiped his mind and reprogramed it
You missed something. After Revan defeated mandalore, he came back to the jedi council, only to be rejected by the council and thrown out of the jedi order along with all the jedi that served under him during the mandalorian wars. This was before 3. dark side.
Also, he did not adopt the title Darth Revan. The emperor gave him that title. He then, with now newly titled darth malak, went and searched for the star forge. After the star forge was found, he built an armada and returned to the republic.

Revan and makak found an Sith tomb with a messages of a Sith talking to mandalore. They went to dromund kaas to seek out the Sith and defeat them, they took on emperor vitiate but they were defeated (still Jedi at this moment). Vitiate so strong in the force entered their minds and controlled, he ordered them to turn back and make war agaist the republic and Jedi, in a plan to weaken them. But Revan’s mind was destroyed when his ship was attacked by malak and replaced by the jedi. He then sought a wat to defeat malak. After he did that he married Bastilla shan and years later he got nightmares of a world always clouded and stormt weather. He again went on a journey to find drommund kaas but was obducted by to Sith that tortured him for moths, he was later daver by meetra surik with the help of a Sith called scourge. Again Revan wanted to defeat emperor vitiate, but meetra and Revan were betrayed by scourge during, because he had a force vision of another Jedi defeating vitiate. Meetra was killed and Revan severely wounded. Vitiate kept Revan alive to comatose him and look in his mind to find out knowledge about the republic, the Jedi, their weaknesses and strengths. What Vitiate didn’t know was that Revan was able to influence him through the force connection, for example the treaty of Curusant. Vitiate rewarded Scourge for his aid in defeating Revan by granting him immortality and naming him the Emperors Wrath.

It isn't unknown what happened in the Unknown Regions. He was captured by Lord Vititate and turned to the dark side and sent out by Vititate to start a war with the Republic to weaken them for when Lord Vitiate was to attack the republic.
Reven & Malak went to the Emperor to kill him, bur he overpowered them & put them under a spell initially, they did not just turn to the dark side out if their own desire. Of course Revan also came back to the light & accomplished so much once again, so a better video topic would be about Revan's legacy as a whole, not just his dark side period.

That's horribly off. In reality, Revan didn't get amnesia at all. The Jedi just reprogrammed his mind with a new one loyal to the republic after he was almost killed when Malak fired on his ship. Not only that, Revan did not defeat Malak at the Leviathan. He actually would have lost and probably get killed right there if it weren't for Bastila sacrificing herself to buy enough time for Carth and Revan to escape. Revan actually defeated Malak at the Star Forge, where he cut through dozens of dark jedi and sith troopers, ontop of defeating and redeeming the now fallen Bastila.

I feel I need to correct you on Revan's turn to the dark side. In the novel Revan, Revan didn't study the dark side nor was he taught by the Emperor. Instead when he and Malak eventually confronted the Emperor, they were brainwashed and sent back to the Republic as Sith Lords to find out if the time was right for the Empire to fight the Republic. However when they were far enough away from the Emperor's influence they forgot about the orders he had given them and having ever found the hidden Empire, but still believed themselves to be Sith.
Darth Revan is my favorite. Can we talk about him more?
Revan: As a young Jedi, I went to war. I accepted violence and darkness and the Emperor called to me from across the galaxy. He made me a Sith Lord and named me Darth Revan. I had to kill for him. I turned on the Republic, but then found redemption. After all the evils I have wrought, all the worlds I have ravaged, all the lives I have destroyed, the Jedi still saw that there was light in me, and that I could be redeemed. If only they knew of the true threat that waited for the Republic in the Dark. I nearly destroyed the Republic, and that nearly destroyed me. When the Jedi redeemed me to the Light, my memory was shattered. It took me years to reclaim my identity, to track and find the Emperor again. I tried to end him, but he murdered my companions and locked me away for three hundred years. Only I have been both Jedi and Sith and found clarity in the Force. Only I can understand him, and his death is my responsibility. I am not averse to sacrificing others, even myself; for the greater good of the galaxy. I am no Jedi. Nor am I a Sith. Ah yes! My all time favorite Star Wars character. It's going to be interesting to see how he's integrated into the new Canon, since he didn't get to be in Clone Wars like he was supposed to. Since Kylo Ren has so much in common with Revan I'd love for him to be the originator of the Knights of Ren, and maybe even see Revans holocron.

6. It was the Jedi council that wipe Revan mind with the force, and reprogram his fake identity.
7. Revan was allowed to RE-join the Jedi at an older age and made an "exceptional", because the Council secretly wishes to reactivate his force talent to fight Malak. No data suggest when he first join the order prior to the Mandalorian war.
11. Revan could be a female base on the Original Game, Knight of the Old Republic. If you get it.
What was beautiful about the 2 original KOTOR games is that Revan was what you wanted him to be. Revan could be a redeemed Jedi hero and savior, or he could also be the most badass and greatest Sith Lord that reclaimed his empire from the short sighted Malak like I and others wanted him to.
The Old Republic took that magic away from the character, we should have gotten the final chapter of the trilogy in a proper KOTOR III and tie up all these loose ends, that were in your hands, the player.
But no, let's make a shitty MMO and murder the original KOTOR games.
Revan was without a doubt the most badass character in Star Wars in my opinion. He's pretty much influenced every critical point in star wars history in some way or another. Do you think he could've possibly been the Chosen one from another life? I mean he did die knowing things about the force that almost nobody else had ever discovered. Maybe he could've possibly been the one to conceive anakin through the force and not plageus? Or anakin is Revan reincarnated? Idk man what do you think? I just think he's too great a character to just discard...

technically when they encountered the real empire and all that and fell to the dark side when they left and started to attack the republic he shook off the cloud over his mind and remembered what happen to him and continued attacking the republic to concur it and unite it to fight the real empire but when malek betrayed him his goals were more destruction oriented like when he bombed taris

I heard much different it was Alec and Revan that faced the Emperor as agents of the light but could not defeat the Emperor who basically brainwashed the two Jedi Knight into becoming Sith. A rare example of someone who did not willingly accept the dark side.

How about the Shan family. The Shan family was a famous Human Jedi family of the Galactic Republic, including Bastila Shan, her parents, Helena Shan and her husband, and her descendants, including Satele Shan and her son Theron.
He's not the only one to return to the light. Darth Vader betrayed the Sith, when he saw the Emperor torturing Luke. He wasnt a complete Jedi, but he realigned himself
Revan should really get a Disney+ show imo. He's just so edgy and badass and has an interesting arc.
I was elated when I found out that Revan was actually technically canon as you see Malachor V in Star Wars Rebels and seeing the damage the Mass Shadow Generator did, since Revan activated that machine, makes him indirectly canon, or "Legends canon" if you will.
Malak adopted his name to go Into hiding to avoid arrest from the Jedi order, not because he turned and revan gave him the name. Also, I think revan adopted his famous name from the Revanchist, given to him for his actions prior to leading his army against the mandalorians. Some info may be off so don't fully quote this

I enjoy anything that involves Revan, he was for me on of the most powerful force users ever, by every account, from dueling to force powers and his thirst for knowledge. If his identify has never been confirmed how can we ultimately deny he was a skywalker? More information on revan would be cool for me.
The Skywalker heritage was started with Anakin. Though Shimi was a Skywalker, she was not the reason Anakin was Force sensitive. That was caused by an experiment of Darth Plagueis, who, in the manipulation of midochlorians, impregnated Shimi with an extremely Force sensitive child. The Skywalker line followed this with Luke and Leia, and, in the old EU, Ben, Cade, etc.
As far as I know that's just a fan theory.
Rev was the chosen one who balanced the light and dark sides.

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it's the Knights of the Old Republic comic series, in book... 5 or 6. Maybe. It's been a while. I do consider them some of the best Star Wars comics.

Revan did not believe he needed to learn the dark side to fight the Sith empire when they chased the mandalorians into unknow space they encountered the Sith empire and their minds were broken by the emporer and sent to weaken the republic however when they reached republic space he regained his mind but kept concouring and preserving vital parts of planets in order to provide a united front to the empire but when male betrayed him he just destroyed what ever he wanted and since revan lost his memory because the Jedi council wiped his mind and reprogramed it
You missed something. After Revan defeated mandalore, he came back to the jedi council, only to be rejected by the council and thrown out of the jedi order along with all the jedi that served under him during the mandalorian wars. This was before 3. dark side.
Also, he did not adopt the title Darth Revan. The emperor gave him that title. He then, with now newly titled darth malak, went and searched for the star forge. After the star forge was found, he built an armada and returned to the republic.
I believe that snoke is a follower of revans and adopted revans philosophy and teachings more so than Bane did

Revan and makak found an Sith tomb with a messages of a Sith talking to mandalore. They went to dromund kaas to seek out the Sith and defeat them, they took on emperor vitiate but they were defeated (still Jedi at this moment). Vitiate so strong in the force entered their minds and controlled, he ordered them to turn back and make war agaist the republic and Jedi, in a plan to weaken them. But Revan’s mind was destroyed when his ship was attacked by malak and replaced by the jedi. He then sought a wat to defeat malak.
After he did that he married Bastilla shan and years later he got nightmares of a world always clouded and stormt weather. He again went on a journey to find drommund kaas but was obducted by to Sith that tortured him for moths, he was later daver by meetra surik with the help of a Sith called scourge. Again Revan wanted to defeat emperor vitiate, but meetra and Revan were betrayed by scourge during, because he had a force vision of another Jedi defeating vitiate. Meetra was killed and Revan severely wounded. Vitiate kept Revan alive to comatose him and look in his mind to find out knowledge about the republic, the Jedi, their weaknesses and strengths. What Vitiate didn’t know was that Revan was able to influence him through the force connection, for example the treaty of Curusant.
Vitiate rewarded Scourge for his aid in defeating Revan by granting him immortality and naming him the Emperors Wrath.

Revan isn’t the only person to go from the dark to the light as Bastilla also goes to the dark and comes back in kotor. Although it wasn’t as long as Revan she definitely fell to the dark side, before Revan brought her back

It isn't unknown what happened in the Unknown Regions. He was captured by Lord Vititate and turned to the dark side and sent out by Vititate to start a war with the Republic to weaken them for when Lord Vitiate was to attack the republic.

Reven & Malak went to the Emperor to kill him, bur he overpowered them & put them under a spell initially, they did not just turn to the dark side out if their own desire. Of course Revan also came back to the light & accomplished so much once again, so a better video topic would be about Revan's legacy as a whole, not just his dark side period.

That's horribly off. In reality, Revan didn't get amnesia at all. The Jedi just reprogrammed his mind with a new one loyal to the republic after he was almost killed when Malak fired on his ship. Not only that, Revan did not defeat Malak at the Leviathan. He actually would have lost and probably get killed right there if it weren't for Bastila sacrificing herself to buy enough time for Carth and Revan to escape. Revan actually defeated Malak at the Star Forge, where he cut through dozens of dark jedi and sith troopers, ontop of defeating and redeeming the now fallen Bastila.
