Exactly, what’s sad is that the Jedi and the Republic didn’t learn any important lessons from this. The Republic only became more corrupt and dysfunctional by the time of the prequel trilogy. And the Jedi became overly dogmatic, arrogant, too detached from others, and too entangled in the Republic’s politics. The Jedi should’ve stuck to serving the average people instead of the will of corrupt senators and elites, they were more interested in maintaining the status quo instead of upholding true justice. I love the love story between Cal and Mirren, it’s nice to finally have another love couple in the Star Wars universe. A Jedi (or former Jedi) and a Night Sister (Witch), that is a very interesting match wouldn’t you all agree? I’m just glad that not all the night sisters were wiped out by Dooku and Grievous (and Palpatine by extension).

The Kotor franchise doesn't need a canon, setting a canon RUINS previous games. Same with novels that rewrite games into a canon story. They're just cash grabs that turn glorified fanfics into canon.

He was truly a prodigy in the force, but what made him unique is that even without it he was a formidable soldier, a cunning warrior and a tactical genuis on par with thrawn. one thing that kinda sickens me about Revan's story is how the Jedi essentially MKUltra'd him just to make him an ally. there's just something upsetting about that fact that brings a dark sheen to the Jedi that I kinda like. I feel like it sets them up to be fully critiqued in KOTOR II.

There is no "true" Revan or Exiled story. They can be men, women, redeem themselves or fall to the dark side for good and I don't need nor want Bioware or Disney to retcon my playthrough. Kotor 2 did it right by letting the player choose who was Revan and what he/she did in the first game. SWTOR just sweeps everything aside and forces you into another storyline.

The actions of Revan during the Jedi Civil War would have cripple the Jedi Order and they will fall victim to the Sith in the years to come in the first Jedi Purge.

I think Revan is the slightly better tactician. They are definitely the two best tacticians in all of Star Wars. Thrawn can read and predict his enemies more often because of his study of different cultures and species and so forth, he is possibly a bit more resourceful and book smarter. However Revan is utterly ruthless, willing to devastate entire plantes and eradicate whole species for the sake of victory. The feats of Revan are simply more impressive than those of Thrawn; Revan single handedly crushed the Mandalorians who were unstoppable until he took command and he would have no doubt completely conquered the Republic if it weren't for Malacks betrayal. Thrawn on the other hand was "bested" by a rather small rebel cell (I know they had massive plot armor but it is what it is).

I never want them to make an Old Republic movie, or worse, a series, but Disney let this one out of the bottle, and they can't walk it back. ...I still think KotOR II should have had an old save bonus involving a Light Side Revan who killed and thus never redeemed Bastila. She's an interesting character, but her always being alive and even implied to be Romanced come the sequel is such a bit of a biased, if not shortsighted developmental take on how gaming choices should be paramount.

SWTOR is not a real continuity to Kotor. The MMO ignore all of the loves and plots Kotor 1 and 2 already set up.

I'd love to play it, provided the gameplay is more action-focused. I didn't quite like the gameplay in KOTOR (although spamming force storm and force drain is incredibly satisfying).

Why didn’t you talk about the true Sith emperor Vitiate and his Sith empire? It was he who turned Revan and Malak to the dark side and while they did lose their memory of the empire it should still be talked about. Unless you are saving everything for a separate video (s)

...I still think KotOR II should have had an old save bonus involving a Light Side Revan who killed and thus never redeemed Bastila. She's an interesting character, but her always being alive and even implied to be Romanced come the sequel is such a bit of a biased, if not shortsighted developmental take on how gaming choices should be paramount.
