  • A series of talk on Why the world needs Hinduism.
The desire to know how we came into being, and from where all this came, fascinates every thinking mind, although there is no clear answer to it, either from science or from religion. When one talks of “singularity” in Physics, and “God’s will” in religion to explain the beginning, one essentially talks of the unknowability of things beyond a point. This idea of the inscrutability of creation is beautifully expressed in Nasadiya Suktam (Rig Veda X.129)
But, after all, who knows, and who can say
Whence it all came, and how creation happened?
The gods themselves are later than creation,
So who knows truly whence it has arisen?
In spite of the inscrutability of creation, every religion does offer some model for it. The Vedas have two main such models in Purusha Suktam (RV X.90) and Nasadiya Suktam (RV X.129). These two hymns are the ultimate source of every theory of creation in Hinduism. Of these two, Purusha Suktam is nearer to the cosmological views of most religions in the world, while Nasadiya Suktam is nearer to the theories in modern Physics.
Nasadiya Suktam takes up the concept of the subtle becoming gross, and then acting on itself. It is thus that Prana (the cosmic energy) hammers at Akasha (The finest first particles) to produce gross matter, and the universe.
Hinduism, the oldest religion in the world, fascinates all those interested in religion. This series of talks, delivered by Swami Samarpanananda, presents the complete structure and essence of Hindu religion 40 talks. The talks were delivered at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur Math, Howrah, W. Bengal.
What are the Vedas? What are its chief contents? How it has been relevant to the Hindus. This talk explains all this.

    Holy Qur'an 6:1
All praise be to God, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light; yet those who disbelieve set up equals with their Lord.

When you explain creation, you can do that from the stand point of your holy book. This explanation is from the Vedas -- the oldest, most sacred and most logical religious book.

Can 'covering' be understood as something that bounds existence? Avarivaha - the boundary that envelops something?

how matter and space can be same, when classical definition of matter in physics . is "anything which occupies space is matter "..now how can anything occupy itself ? or definition is wrong ?

Usually akasha in Indian language means space. But in Indian philosophy it means space particles.

Akasha has a broad classification in the form of matter mind and soul. Budhakasha, Chittakasha and Chidakasha. All forms of material minds and souls exists here. Akasha is filled with Prana or energy.

Who is the author of Nasadiya Sukta? Does the Rig Veda mention the name of the sage who composed this?

    • @IndianSpiritualHeritage
      @IndianSpiritualHeritage  4 роки тому +4

The Vedas mention Prajapati Paramesthi as the sage of it. So he or someone from his family must be the seer.

Sorry but this is too long and ineffective. Check out "Zero-energy universe" hypothesis. It proposes that the total amount of energy in the universe is exactly zero: its amount of positive energy in the form of matter is exactly canceled out by its negative energy in the form of gravity [source: wikipedia]. In that sense the sum total of universe is nothing and it now makes sense to say the universe started from nothing. Give you a real life example: suppose you have nothing and you burrow money. After than you have debt as well as money. If you combine both, it is nothing again.
