Sweet new bow. Congratulations!
@@diver0312 thanks man
That is a sweet bow. Not gonna lie, I shoot traditional archery and you got me like 🤔🤔😂. I’m a new hunter too. The first deer that walked in front of me I didn’t get the shakes, but I could hear my own heart beat. To me it was so loud I was worried that the deer would hear it too. Never got a shot off though. It turned away from me before I could come to anchor.
@@josephwashington2823 aye man might aswell try out the compound bow side of things lol but yea I have no idea how I will feel when a deer crosses my face but only one way to find out lol
Congrats on the new bow! I had a lot of trouble getting a bullet hole with my I5 and QAD rest too. Switched to a hamskea limb driven rest and tuning was much easier. Also have a whisker biscuit on my back up bow. The simplicity of the whisker biscuit is awesome.
@@jonathancalderonbrandt15 thanks man…yea the whisker biscuit it simple and does the job and I’m not mad at that

Nice new bow 😁 Enjoy!
I never got buck fever, but I did make a lot of mistakes trying to rush shots or making unnecessary movements. I had to tell myself when I first saw the deer “I see it, it doesn’t see me”. That way I can slow down and make good shots. Just take your time when they do walk out and remember, you see them they don’t see you.

@@andrewfernandez8330 thank you man I appreciate that I’m just trying to prepare as much as possible
Congrats. Test yourself on draw weight. When hunting you’ll possibly have bulky clothes on if it’s cold. Sit down on a bucket and draw smooth and shoot. If you can’t comfortably draw sitting down, your draw weight is too heavy. I sat cross legged on the ground and drew my alpha x straight back. I know it’s where I need it. Good luck! I’m following
@@coryedd3783 thanks man I appreciate that…yea I have been doing that lately just sitting down and shooting g
Wait till you see and draw back on your first deer. 😊
@@punkmay8299 maaan I can’t even imagine lol
Congratulations
Best way to sight in is to do the vertical and horizontal separately. Take a piece of duct tape (brightly colored like orange) and put a piece on your target horizontally. Shoot until you’re consistently putting arrows in the tape for your up and down. Don’t even worry about the left and right windage adjustment, just focus on getting the up and down set.
Then take a piece of duct tape and put it on the target vertically. Use that to get your left and right windage set. Just worry about the left and right, don’t worry about the up and down.
If you really want to fine tune, tear the tape in half so it’s about an inch wide and repeat the process. The narrower width of the tape will help you really refine the sight.
Shooting dots aren’t great for sighting in, just too much variation on the spot you’re aiming at. I used to have that trophy ridge react sight, it’s great because you just have to sight in 20 yards and 30 yard pins. The react technology sets the other pins when you adjust the 30 yard pin providing you’re using the second pin in the housing. I’ve been told the react technology is fool proof and it was always accurate for me.
@@chads4556 thanks you bro that is a lot of good info…your right about the tape that would def help me fine tune everything
@@whatisarchery the tape method has been tried and true, it’s the most reliable and fail safe way to sight in.

@@ArchersAnonymous-nb4ym yea man I’m just a fan of whatever works lol
Hey Brother. That's amazing how that all played out. Congratulations. I have less than a zero percent chance of that happening to me. You have 1 thing that I don't, and that's a pro shop that's somewhat close. The one around me closed over 20 years ago. So there's no place for me to meet and to build a group of shooters to hang out with and just swap stories and knowledge that they've acquired over the years. I'm basically on my own. I'm my own pro shop at this point. From bow maintenance to building arrows. Closest thing to me is a Bass Pro Shop over an hour away. Not sure I would categorize it as an archery pro shop though. An actual archery pro shop is about 2 hours away.
@@papaschuette wow man sorry bro but atleast your able to learn and do things on your own…I hope to be able to work on my bow myself one day…stay at it

You are blessed, my brother. I shoot that trophy Ridge site. It’s very good. You’re gonna love it. Don’t get caught up in the flagship bow names. Your bow will kill a deer just like that prime bow. Love the setup! But you gotta get rid of that whisker biscuit. My accuracy got crazy good after moving to a QAD dropaway. Also, I’ve had deer spook from the sound of the biscuit when pulling back. Never again lose a deer that way.

Hey bro just found your channel. Where can I shoot you a message? I have land in Missouri and would love to have you up for a deer camp. One thing as a word of advice. I had someone teach me because I use to do the same thing. Try to slow down your trigger pull. Punching the trigger will have your groups all over the place.. @@Tullminator I don’t know that name but I found them on Amazon and I really like them
Put the drop away on take the whisker biscuit off
@@MinFulks why you say that
@@whatisarchery that drop away will increase your accuracy. Whisker biscuit Loses its “whiskers” over time and the bend affecting the accuracy. Also the arrow goes through it causing the fletchings to touch vs drop away the arrow doesn’t touch at all
@@MinFulks but the accuracy was bad on the paper tune so the tech put it on and it was perfect
@@whatisarchery it was bad with the drop away?
@@MinFulks yup no matter what they did it was a terrible tear but as soon as the whisker biscuit was on the shot was a perfect bullet hole
