@@marko86mk She sang it very well, but I've always had a problem with the change of lyrics to a '3rd party observer' (treated "Some woman"...?). Totally loses the personal heartache of the song. Tori Amos did do it justice over a Bösendorfer though. I just found this one and I loove it.
Eivør covers Cohen's "Famous Blue Raincoat" in the same way kd lang covers his "Hallelujah": Impeccable, masterful, and touching. I've never heard better, and I love Cohen And Eivør.
I always thought Cohen's songs don't work when somebody else is covering them (and yes, I'm including Jeff Buckley here). But this is the exception. It's incredible. Eivør is incredible.
Discovering your music was the best accident to ever happen to me. I love your voice and the way you transport your feelings to the songs. My only complaint is that you don't have a bigger audience. I mean, come on! Loves from Brazil
Hush! (don't tell Eivör!) I've already sent a link of one of her songs to Arjen Anthony Lucassen, months ago. He collaborates with musicians from literally all over the world. Only time will tell.... Greetings from the north of Germany
I'll be very thankful if I see her collaborating with Ayreon! Very touching voice. Came here from Ocean of Slumber's facebook page! Appreciation from Brazil as well. :)
Always liked this song but I have never felt this level of emotion listening to it. I was actually tearing up at the end. Can't even explain why. Her voice is chilling and was made for this!
Or this was made for her voice..😊 There are songs in the World that you instantly feel natural with listening to. So natural in fact that it’s almost as if they weren’t composed, as if they’ve always been around and some lucky musician accidently stumbled upon them. Eivør has quite a few songs like that in repertoiré. This love song is so hauntingly beautiful is simple, as if it’s been around as long as mother earth.. ua-cam.com/video/0v0KXGFLp8o/v-deo.html
I swear I think God drops whatever he/she is doing whenever Eivor sings. Can make a very strong argument that her feel for the msuic and 7 octave range cannot be matched. Ever.
Yo también soy de México, y lamentablemente ni siquiera sus discos he conseguido. Quiero comprarlos en físico y ni en el sistema de las tiendas aparecen :( Ojalá venga pronto. ¡Saludos compatriotas!
It's four in the morning, the end of December I'm writing you now just to see if you're better New York is cold, but I like where I'm living There's music on Clinton Street all through the evening I hear that you're building your little house deep in the desert You're living for nothing now, I hope you're keeping some kind of record Yes, and Jane came by with a lock of your hair She said that you gave it to her That night that you planned to go clear Did you ever go clear? Ah, the last time we saw you you looked so much older Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder You'd been to the station to meet every train, and You came home without Lili Marlene And you treated my woman to a flake of your life And when she came back she was nobody's wife Well I see you there with the rose in your teeth One more thin gypsy thief Well, I see Jane's awake She sends her regards And what can I tell you my brother, my killer What can I possibly say? I guess that I miss you, I guess I forgive you I'm glad you stood in my way If you ever come by here, for Jane or for me Well, your enemy is sleeping, and his woman is free Yes, and thanks, for the trouble you took from her eyes I thought it was there for good so I never tried And Jane came by with a lock of your hair She said that you gave it to her That night that you planned to go clear Sincerely, L Cohen

Eivor. Please do not. Your cover was terrible. Jennifer Warner’s has already done it and done it well. And Nathaniel Rateliff has also done a good cover of Famous Blue Raincoat so at best you are a distant 4th
I've seen her twice in concert, the 1st time I was just like wt..?? because of her beautiful voice and her enchanting music. I closed my eyes cos the feeling was so powerful I could feel it in my very core and I wondered how was possible not to know her music for a long time. By the 2nd time I knew all of her songs and I felt even happier cos I was so close to the stage and I admire her just as Would stare at an angel. The guys are amazing as well, she has a super great team! Her concerts are not too big but to be honest I love it this way cos you feel more intimate and is just another lever, honestly. Thanks for your music Evoir! This cover is amazing!
oh wow this is just perfect I've listened to Damien Rice's, Glen Hansard's and Aurora's version and this is by far the best cover version I've listened to
Aurora is my favorite singer and I love her cover but have to admit this is absolutely beautiful!! When I feel the urge to hear this song this is where I'll go!
Wow...great performance. Truly satisfying. Beautiful song, one of my favorite Cohen tunes, and one of the scariest songs I've ever heard. Always takes me right to the middle of one of my deepest fears and always leaves me wondering if I, too, could ever find a space of gratitude and finally accept and forgive. This performance really nailed it.
I recently discovered your music, and have become a huge fan!!! I follow a UA-cam channel called Vikingskog that posts folk musics from the Netherlands and surrounding areas, and they recently have posted Faroese folk songs. I love the Faroese songs the most, so I did some research to hear more, and I came across you! I am SO GLAD that I did!! I play a very vocal sounding brass instrument called the euphonium, and I like to think of it as my voice. I look to great vocalists for inspiration, and you are one of my absolute favorites. You and Anna Netrebko are my two favorite voices. Thank you for inspiring me!
When I first listened to your studio albums I first thought: hey she's quite ok. Then I saw you live, and it just blew me away. You're even a 1000 times better live. Such a FANTASTIC performer. Well, not only you - your entire band on the last tours was perfect. Whenever you will get close to my hometown Cologne again, I will travel to wherever you perform. Keep on making music please - your music gives to much to so many people. I hope it also makes you happy. xx
So glad to discover a new cover of a song from my favorite singer, especially when it is so graceful and profound. Many thanks Eivør and greetings from France
I've said on a few of your songs already, and I'll say it again, you are one of the most talented musicians I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. I would love it if you could make it to Scotland some day, even if not to my home town, I would gladly travel to see you perform. You actually blow my mind with how amazing you are.
Just got this song recommended in spotify never heard it before, I found out the original is by Leonard Cohen and I can say this version does complete justice to it, very well done

The phrasing is perfect on one of the most beautiful melodies ever written. Congratulations on this performance.
I never thought anyone could successfully cover this masterpiece by L. Cohen, but this is beautiful
Aurora successfully cover this song. Also a masterpiece. 👍

I first heard Eivor some years ago when I purchased a boxed set of mixed artists from Scandinavia. She blew me away completely. Still does.
She is a very rare talent. Her vocal range and clarity is up there with Loreena McKinnett .
