Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today, we're getting a look at a selection of One Control pedals in the BJF Series FX. The BJF Series is designed by none other than circuit guru Bjorn Juhl of BJFE. Bjorn's all-original designs have been coveted by collectors for years, and are known as the best in class for all effect types. Bjorn has designed each and every effect in the BJF Series for both guitar and bass and these circuits join One Control's line of switchers and utility boxes. Today, we'll be focusing on seven pedals in the BJF series, featuring an array of amp-in-a-box, overdrive and modulation units. The new Golden Acorn is a humble D-style amp in a box, which covers an incredible amount of dynamic range with good chord separation. The Purple Plexifier gives you screaming Marshall lead tones in a package that won't break your back or your wallet. Big Fender-style cleans is the goal of the Sonic Blue Twanger, with a handy rhythm and lead switch. The Fluorescent Orange is designed to give you big, burly Orange tones, an brand with which Bjorn is intimately familiar as a former repair tech. The Cranberry Overdrive is an extension of the raw Strawberry Overdrive, but with an emphasis on clean and low-gain tones. For those looking for a gritty rhythm drive, the Lingonberry Overdrive starts with the Strawberry Red platform, boosting the lows and increasing the gain for some incendiary crunch. Each pedal in the BJF Series comes in an ultra-compact aluminum enclosure with space for a nine-volt battery, and is designed in Japan with a painstaking attention to detail.
0:53 Cranberry Overdrive (low gain version of Strawberry Red Overdrive)
1:53 Dimension Blue Monger (chorus/flanger)
2:48 Purple Plexifier (classic Plexi tone)
3:39 Lingonberry Overdrive (hot rodded Strawberry Red Overdrive)
4:27 Fluorescent Orange (Orange amp-in-a-box)
5:18 Sonic Blue Twanger (Fender blackface tones)
6:08 Golden Acorn Overdrive Special (Dumble amp-in-a-box)
...and we're back! Thanks for your patience as we dealt with a minor glitch.
